Get a gym membership, and go one every 2-3 days. All the equipment's there, and with people and trainers there, it makes it kind of sociable and easy to go to.

Just exercise and eat healthy. Good luck :)
go to the 'muscle sorority' forum, and ask the women there--it's a good place for such advice:

It depends on your height to see if your overweight or not. I think you could check with some kind of body mass index system or something. I'll google it and see.

how tall are you
that may be just fine!
otherwise- loosing it slowly is the most healthy for you and it has less of a chance of coming back
walking and running are very good
also, pushups, sit-ups, and weights are very good as they build muscle as they take away fat
increase the number of them you do every day until you can do 100 in a row!
good luck
Watch your food. I used to ride my bike 5 miles a day. Had fun visiting friends and lost weight. If you are able to join a gym that would be great. Costs $$. Check on line or ask your Dr for some exercises. First and foremost Love and respect yourself!
Good Luck
Go here to see if you are actually overweight.

If you are overweight, stop eating the french fries at lunch, and have healthier alternatives than chips as snacks. Just try not to eat junk food in large amounts everyday.

It also really helps if you read "The Dorm Room Diet" if you are confused about healthy eating.

It also helps if you pick up jogging 3 days a week.
How tall are you? 150 lbs is ideal weight for someone who's younger than 25 and 5'7" to 5'8" tall.

The best way to lose weight the healthy way is to be conscious of what you're eating. Make sure you get 5 fruits &/or vegetables a day, 2-3 servings of milk, and 6 8oz. glasses of water a day. Watch your portion sizes. A good rule of thumb if you go out to eat a lot is to try and only eat half of what you're served (mainly at dinner...as the portions are so large).

If you don't exercise now, just going for a walk for 10-15 minutes a day will help a lot. You don't have to do anything drastic to see results. It won't be fast (as typically anything healthy takes time), but you'll be able to sustain it in the long run, which is important. Remember, typical weight loss should be between 1 & 2 pounds a week.

If you need more structure, you might try Weight Watchers or another similar group. I've had a great experience with WW. I've been able to eat all the foods I enjoy and still lose weight. Good luck!
I tell people this all the time: There is no way to lose weight quickly without gaining it all back later.

I typed up some weight loss tips on a blog I made yesterday. It should help you with your weight loss.

ok, if you want to loose weight, i think this will help.

first, try to cut down junk food.

eat pb&j sandwiches for lunch. they give you necessary carbs (the good kind), and not alot of fat.

eat a healthy snack if you get hungry, like a banana or an apple.

for breakfast, eat something not real high in fat, like cereal or something. *great fast breakfast for before school.*

go for jogs every day if you can. (start out with about a mile, then move up a half mile every week. try not to walk at all during your jog) doing cardio activities burns bad cabs and fat. or do something like soccer or volleyball.

as long as you dont eat lots of massively fattening foods every night, you should be able to pretty much eat what you want.

if you get hungry at night, eat frozen grapes. they have good sugars that your body needs, and little, if any fat. and they fill you up.

for drinks, o.j. is great for breakfast (unless you have cereal, case then it makes both taste like crap. trust me, i know.) and snacks. it also helps boost your immune system so you almost never get sick. milk (2% white, NOT chocolate) for lunch and dinner. every once and a while, like for weekends or something, go with a soda or something for dinner, but if you drink them everyday, thats alot of bad sugars that go into your body. lots of soda also rots your teeth.

and last, GET SOME SLEEP! when you sleep, your body digests food and any extra fat or bad carbs in your body. the more sleep you get, the more your body burns up the bad stuff. id suggest about 7-8 every night. (that means go to sleep at about 9:30-ish, if you get up at 6 for school.) and dont slack off on weekends and sit around. if you arent active, your body builds up fat. get out and go for bike rides with friends or go to an indoor pool and swim laps, or goof off with a group of friends. (yeah, goofing off with friends in the pool burns fat)

do this for a while, and you should slim down to your wanted weight.

*******ok, editing this for the guy under me. cutting out meals is extremely bad for you. that cuts out needed energy items that help you function during the day. it also slows down your matabolism, so you dont actually loose weight from cutting out a meal. eating HEALTHY, not eating less, is good for you.
Okay. Cut out eating in between meals.
Only eat healthy food and cut down on Carb’s like bread, potatoes, pasta's, rice, cereals, lollies etc. These are the fat making foods.
Don’t add salt to your meals. Cut out soft drinks.
Then walk an hour every morning two hours after a meal and the same in the afternoon.
If you can jog in between both sessions you'll burn even more calories.
You should lose and continue to lose more weight as you go.
If you can cut out your lunch meal and replace it with a protein drink instead that would also help. Available in supermarkets.
As long as you can stay off junk food and eating in between meals. If you have to eat something in between have something like small raw carrots or celery sticks.
Summary:
Choose a cereal low in sugar for breakfast.
Lunch can be a protein drink.
And all normal meals at a normal serve. Cut down on potatoes and only have small portions of these.
Walking as much as you can.

How do I slim my arms?

I hate them SO SO much! I pretty much inherited flabby arms (from my mom, grandma, great-grandma, etc.), and they are horrible. I lost some weight, and I can wear a size medium shirt now, but it is SO tight arond my arms I have to get a large or extra-large just to fit them. And then the shirt looks weird because it's too big everywhere else.
My grandma can wear a small for her torso and everything, but has to wear a medium because of her arms. It's in my genetics, but how can I change it, or at least make them smaller? And I don't really want to turn them to muscle either, I just want them to be slim.
Answers: Do arm workouts with your arms. Get dumbells, and do arm curls.
push ups
and curls
work out ure arms with light weights! heavy ones will build resistance and muscle. there is also plastic surgery as a last resort.
Start lifting weights - just 2 - 5 lbs, 2 - 3 times a week. You can use large cans of tomatoes or fruit if you don't have weights. You won't bulk up, but you'll tone your arms and sholders so they are slimmer.
If it's genetic it may be very difficult to lose weight in certain areas. Don't worry about "turning them to muscle" it wont happen unless you're lifting very heavy weights, eating a lot, etc. You can't "turn fat into muscle", but you can decrease the fat by eating less calories and doing more cardio, and increase the muscle by exercising such as bicep curls and push ups.
To tone and create slim muscles, use less weight and more repetitions. To turn the fat into muscle, use a heavier weight and less repetitions. I would recommend 15 to 20 reps. using a light weight if you want to tone.

WHich type of body of guys will can gain muscle faster and better result?

a) Guys below 5 ft
b) Guys who are 5 ft to 6 ft
C) Guys above 6 ft
d) guys who play lots of sport
e) guys who dont really play sport
f) others - pls state them
Answers: Genetics will determine this. You can build muscle, but not gain it. Before you even know what working out is, the number of muscle fibers is dertermined. For people that have more muscle fibers, they will be able to rip & rebuild more muscle fibers resulting in greater muscle mass.

So, sorry your height has nothing to do with it. Now there may be a correlation between athletes and more muscle fibers, but it does not result in causation.
mesmomorphs.... the height doesnt determine how much muscle mass one can attain, its usually the composition of the muscle types: fast and slow twitch muscle fibers...

the simple equation is:

heavy weight + high reps + time = big muscle

Yes.. this does sound too simple, but its guaranteed to work.. Just consistently keep adding weight overtime (ex. 2.5lb a week or every other the week) and it will work.

Answers: I'd give it a 5. You need about three days of cardio on top of your weight lifting. Doing so will shred off fat. And your kind of vague on the days you lift. Do you workout 3 days per week, or do you alternate workouts and lift daily? Hopefully you are just doing the 3 days per week, because your muscles need rest.

You also don't give your diet. Hopefully it's high in protein and moderate in carbs, but at the same time lower in cals to help you get rid of your fat.

Also you need to change up your lifting routine bi-weekly or something like that so your body does not get used to the same old thing over and over. It will soon adapt to your workout routine and that will minimize results.

And if you want muscle mass, do about 7-9 reps.

Good luck.
dont over work yourself. take a day of break between each workout. diet as well.your a ok

So you basically want to sit there and do nothing and lose weight?

You will lose some with a drastic change in diet but there is no way you are going to get thin with food alone.

If you refuse to use equipment, at least walk around your neighborhood for 30 minutes a day.
Wow your really overweight
almost sets you at the OBESE CATEGORY

jk. xD you have to check your body fat over 30% your obese

try jogging and eating healthier
Walking is a really good way to burn of fat. You don't need expensive gym memberships or exercise equipment in order to shed pounds. Drink more water, cut back on junk food, and exercise at least 30 minutes a day. If you want more diet tips, check out my weight loss blog at:

If this doesn't help you, feel free to send me a message and ask any weight loss questions you have.
Walk. Start with 5 minutes away from the house, and 5 minutes back. Add one minute each direction each day until you are walking at least 30 minutes a day. Drink water, avoid alcohol, sugar, soda, salt and dessert. Aim for 5 servings of fruit and /or veggies each day. Pick potaotes, rice, pasta bread or cereal no more than 2 times a day. Eat small
amount of protein at each meal. Aim for 3 meals and 2 planned snacks per day. When in doubt, eat half of a serving of something. Better to have 2 chocolate chip cookies than half a bag!
1.eatheathier 2.jog a mile every day but rest every three miles so u dnt have an asthma attack and 3. take up some kind of sport bye :)

Does drinking water flush out excess sodium in your body?

water retention
Answers: Sweating does, that's why it's good to drink gatorade instead of water when exercising heavily to replenish the lost sodium. Try to keep your urine closer to clear than darker yellow, then you'll know you're properly hydrated. If it's darker you need lots more water in your system.
dude don't drink water: fish have sex in it x]
haa, just playingg!
water is good helpful for your body i dont see how it can be harmful

Help. my father in law leaves skid marks on the toilet each time he goes, is this an issue with all obese ppl?

Seriously, I would like to know if this is a problem with his obesity? He leaves s*** on the toilet every time. And he doesn't clean it up. Should I say something or would this just offend him because he is over weight. 370lbs. Is this a common problem?
Answers: not necesarily. i kno someone that used to be 400 pounds, and never left any s*** on the toilet... so idk...
yup :)
it's common
at least he gets some in the toilet!
good luck!

Fat????

well i have a muffin top... so i consider me fat... i'm 5' 3" and as of today (gained 4 pounds since last week ) i weigh 151lbs.. so wat do u think ? gain weight ? lose weight? just right?
Answers: You're fine.
You could have a muffin top and weigh 101. It's where the
fat vs muscle is distributed.

You should weigh 100 pounds for the first 5 feet, then 3-8 pounds for every inch over 5 feet of height, plus or minus 10 pounds. Measure your wrist, and multiply that measuremeant
times 3 for the 3 inches you have over 5 feet. add 100 pounds. Then work on your weight to reach that number.
It's a bit overweight, hon. Sorry to tell you that.

Join a gym. But if you can't afford that, you can exercise at home. Buy an exercise ball, they usually come with an exercise sheet for toning certain parts of your bodies and are really effective.

Don't forget cardio as well. Start running, or jump roping, swimming, etc.

Cut sweets and soda out of your diet. Drink loads of water, eat more veggies and fruits, replace white bread with wheat or pita bread, etc.

This is not only to help you lose weight, but to overall help your body become and feel super healthy!

Good luck!
Without knowing your gender, it's hard to say how overweight you are. But you're definitely on the plump side for your height. That 4 pound weight gain could be just water, especially if you are female.

Sorry to say, you're not 'just right'. Nor are you obese. Do aim to slim down a bit, by altering your food intake and exercising. Aim for a loss of just 2 lbs a week until you reach your goal. It won't be that hard. Think slender and healthy!

Good luck!

When is baby fat not Baby fat anymore?

When do you fully stretch it all out and are able to tell if it's baby fat or just fat? I weigh 100 pounds and I'm 5'3. I'm still growing and I don't know if the little bits of tumm fat are Fat or baby fat?? Or, around my neck like she does here ( http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/... ) ....
Answers: You know baby fat isn't baby fat when you're no longer a baby. 5'3" and 100 pounds is fine, you don't have a problem.
When a baby is up running around their baby fat goes away.
If it mother's baby fat, it should take 6 monthes after the baby is born to go away.

Ie i am 5ft 9" and a 185lbs at age 13 am i overweight?

Answers: I'm 5'9 and 130.
Yes, you are, sweetie!
Start eating better and exercising more!! DO NOT DIET OR TAKE DIET PILLS! You are still growing, you need all the vitamins, calcium and etc. to keep growing.
Just start exercising more, lifting some weights (even for girls) and eating better. It'll take months and months but you'll start getting stronger and stronger and the pounds will come off.
Maybe by about 15 lbs.

A girl is supposed to weigh 100 lbs. for the first 5 feet and then 5 lbs. for every inch, but I know many people who weigh over what they are "supposed" to weigh and they are stick thin, so I don't think it's too accurate.
You can check this on a BMI Calculator.

Well you shed some pounds

:/
it depends on your bone structure
you are probably overweight, but it may not be by very much
if you have heavy bones, that adds a ton to your weight that you can't take off
talk to your doctor
that's the only way to get an accurate answer
you are not overweight and people saying this dont know what they are talking about ! u may have some fat but u are only 13 and im sure its puppy fat and as u get older u will grow and it will grow away so dont worry about it to much or ul make yourself sick x
hope this helps
At your height you should be between 145-155. I am the same height and when I weighed 145 I looked to skinny. Go a bit between the two and you should be on average.
I think that's considered overweight, but I'm not sure. You can check on a BMI calculator to see if you're overweight or not.

I have a link to a BMI calculator on my weight loss blog. Click here:

What's up with people?

Wanting to be stick thin and look just like a celebrity these days? Are there any people out there that don't and just want to be themselves still and look different?
Answers: REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES!!

Seriously, I have always had hips and a chest...I love my body! Why would I want to look like a 12 year old boy when I can look like a woman?

Remember everyone....meat is for a man...bones are for dogs!!
I dont wanna be super skinny and with my ribs sticking out

But i do wanna be slender :)
and have curvesss
:o! i think thats an american thing.. in my country, no one wants to be 'stick thin'... it could be cultural to want to be a certain build...

Is my friend anorexic?

she eats jllo only on some days, maybe 1 meal on others, she was a little heavy-set but shes lost so much weight(60 pounds) in 2 months....?
she weighed 190,now shes at 130
she may eat ten caloreies but burns like 280 for every 20??
shes 14.
Answers: Obviously she has Body Image Distortion. Although she has lost 60 pounds in 2 months she still sees herself as overweight therefore depriving herself of nutrition she badly needs at her age. I think it all boils down to what's she has heard or seen, which she deprives herself as some form of punishment. Media plays a huge role in a girls self image throughout adolescents. Im not telling her to mow down on a cheeseburger but she can still loose weight the healthy way without depriving her body of the nutrients she needs.
Yes, she is! Please tell her, a counselor, her parents or your parents. Tell someone!! She probably can't stop even if you tell her.
She is doing her body GREAT DAMAGE, even if she wasn't 14!!! she's still growing, needs more calories, not less!!
Does she go to the bathroom alot? She could be bullimic as well.I would say probably the best thing you could do at this point would be to talk to her parents, teachers, school counselors, people like that.If you really care about your friend you'd see to it that she gets help for her problem. That has some serious cosequences & later on down the road she could experience significant health problems.
