How should a 14 yr old eat?
i am a 14 yr old girl. i quit gymnastics and i dont wanna get fat. i need healthy suggestions. i dont like salad so dont even mention it. and plz no rude commentsAnswers: eat what you like, just don't eat a whole lot of it. Thats the difficult part. If you exercise, drink lots of water, and eat a little of things you like you'll be fine. your only 14 you shouldnt have a lot to worry about yet.
A 14 y.o. girl should, sorry to say it, be eating a lot of fresh fruit and veggies. Not sure what it is about salads you don't like, since a salad can literally be any mixture of fruits and veggies, either raw or you might try lightly steamed veggies. Figure out what it is about salad you don't like, and leave that part out.
Calcium is very important at any age, so I hope you like broccoli.
Deep sea fish is good, but stay away from shellfish.
Stay away from the fast foods and junk foods, of course, and don't touch high fructose corn syrup, since that converts directly to fat.
Don't forget to maintain your exercise, and keep an eye on your total caloric intake. You'll need fewer calories since you won't be burning them up with gymnastics.
Eating Disorders?
My friend is 15 years old and I'm really worried about her. She thinks she's fat. But she isn't she doesn't eat and does excessive exercise. I first started noticing this problem in around June and we have talked about it. But yet, there is nothing I can do. She talked to her mum (who wasanorexic around our age) about it back in July, her Mum was really upset. But, my friend boards at school so her Mum can't watch her all the time. I can't watch her all the time either because I'm a day pupil. I only see her eat at lunch. For instance, today she just ate like a mouthful of cous cous and an apple. I always fell really bad especially because I'm a vegetarian, and when I first met her she wasn't. Now she is. I'm also one of those people who have a very fast metabolism; I can eat whatever I want and not put on weight. Sometimes I wonder if this is all my fault and she wanted to be like me. I don't know. Her Mum takes her to a doctor now and then to have blood samples and to get weighed. Yesturday her Mum took her for accupunture so that she'd have atleast more energy.
I wonder where she gets the energy from what with all the masses of excersize she does.
Please help me help her. What can I do? What should I not do? What should I try to say? What should I try not to say?
Thank you for listening.
Love,

Answers: first i think it's important that you don't blame yourself. this has nothing to do with you. the best thing for your friend is therapy. eating disorders have a lot to do with emotional and psychological issues. there is something deep within her that is causing her to do this to herself and she needs counseling in order to bring that out. many times eating disorders result because that person feels the need to be in control.
These are alway touchy and it depends on how people feel about it.
I would just be there for her when she wants help, and the only way she will get or want help is if she actually thinks she has a problem. dont try and convince her she does because that would just make it worse, but just be there for her and let her know your concern.
good luck.
You're doing the right thing right now. There's not much you can do, sweetie. People wont be helped until THEY want to be helped, just continue to support her, be there for her if she needs you, and be an example of a healthy girl. Sooner or later she'll want to be like you on that aspect.... Your are a good friend to her, that helps alot also. Tyra Banks also has posted things on her web site dealing with eating disorders, maybe that will help her.
Whats the fastiest way to lose alot of weight?
Whats the fastiest way to lose alot of weight in a short period of time? What can i do and how much weight could i lose in three months? thanksAnswers: I lost 45 pounds in 5 months time.
No soda pop of any kind, not even diet. Cut down on alcohol. Eat smaller portions of anything. Drink more water, especially when you are sitting in front of the TV, lol. Moderate exercise, walk or take a bike everywhere you can. Weigh your food. Eat healthy meats and salads, like green leaf lettuce and dark colored veggies.
Good luck.
A LOT IS TWO WORDS!!!!!!
Anyway, try walking everywhere, it's what I do.
wrap urself in plastic wrap. haha.
jk.
there's no healthy short cut. don't think of it as a diet. think of it as a lifestyle...
Diet and exercise is the kep to successful weight loss. Sure you can try to lose pounds fast but research shows that a 1-2 pound weight loss per week is the safest and surest way to keep the pounds off for good.
Good Luck!
There are more diets than ever and more people dieting than ever and yet we have the fattest society ever. So a lot of these ideas about losing weight, make you fatter. Cutting calories, carbs and fats can cause you to have a weight problem for life. It is better to eat differently. See site below and learn why lean meat and non-fat yogurt are so fattening. The people counting calories are the fat people.
Also salt has no calories but makes you fat. This also has the quickest weight loss possible. Eat good carbs, not bad carbs. Nourish your body thin, instead of starving your body fat. Eat foods made by nature
and avoid foods made by man which are designed to make you fat and very addicted to food. Do the ninja warrior diet (not a diet but a diet lifestyle). 5th link on "LINKS" page is BMI calculator to see if you are overweight. You could lose as much as 60 pounds in 3 months.

The fastes way is starvation. That will do wonders. It will also cause you a lifetime of physical problems. So - There is no fast way but there is a right way. First, control your diet. That is the most important. Second do serious exercize to burn off the fat.
Starvation will result in loss of muscle so that is not the way to go. You want to lose weight but also remain healthy.
Swimming, cycling, weight training, gymnastics, tennis - all are good ways to get rid of fat.
Remember that once formed, fat cells never go away, They just shrink or inflate like balloons. Once you get the weight off, you must still watch the diet or it will come right back.
Eat whatever you want.... in moderation. I have five small meals a day. Everything I eat is on a salad plate or in small bowl. No simple carbohydrates or anything made with white flour. Just lean protein, beans, whole fruits , vegetables, nuts, and dairy. I do not eat after 7:00 PM. Watch your alcohol intake. It's high in calories.
It works for me !
It's a change of lifestyle or you will gain it all back, and more.
Safely - diet and exercise! However, that's not very fast. I lost about 30 over about 9 months by cutting back what I ate. No junk food, soda, etc...
Anything that is fast is probably not healthy. Pills don't work.
My husband did a medical diet called Optifast, through a doctor & a nutritionist He lost about 70 pounds in 6 months. It involves "shakes" 5 times a day. Your calorie intake is very low but you get everything from the shakes. NOTHING else is eaten.
eat ONLY when you are hungry
exersise after meels and regularly. if you work out and do streangth training when you are out of breath (anarobic) you loose weight faster. the reason you should not eat after 6 pm is becacse after you eat, you cannot rest, watch tv or sleep; you need to, atleast exersise a little so that you burn of the calories that you just ate.
eat healthy foods that are low in sugar and fat. and never eat after you become full.

Please could you help me with my weight please please please ...thank u ....x?
ok im 8 and half stone...im 17 5'4
please help me lose a stone PLEASE
Answers: This worked for me. Stop Eating after 6:30pm. If you have to make it a salad, veggie sticks or fruit. You will lose a lot just by doing this. Slowly make all meals smaller portions. Until all meals are appoximately half of what you would normally eat. This way you can still eat that hamburger or chilly cheese taco but just less of it.
It worked for me and a friend. My friend went down from a size 18 to a size 10 .
I only went down 2 sizes 20 to a 16 so far.
Best of Luck
if you are eating coconut or its produces then just avoid it
ie not fully but you can take it once a week. this would reduce your weight. i got this suggestion from an doctor.
No big secret. You must burn more calories than you take in. Also it is advisable to lose weight slowly so it doesn't come back. Regular exercise and a common since diet. Leave food on your plate, never eat the whole bag of french fries, never eat if you are not hungry. Eat an apple a day.
Here are a few tips:
1. You MUST exercise if you want to lose weight and keep it off, so do something every day, even if it’s just a 15-minute walk around the neighborhood. Don’t say you don’t have time for exercise; you have to MAKE time. Yes, it takes time and effort, but you’re worth it, right?
2. Walk as much as you want, but don’t do cardio for more than 40 minutes at a time. If you do, you risk burning muscle instead of fat.
3. If you do strength training, use light weights and do lots of repetitions. That’ll really help you “tone up.”
4. Your diet will make you or break you. You have probably learned bad eating habits over time (most people do). That’s not your fault, but now you have to deal with it. Make a commitment to yourself to unlearn those bad habits and re-learn better habits.
5. Eat breakfast every day within an hour of getting up. People who don’t are 450% more likely to be overweight.
6. Eat six small meals or snacks per day instead of three squares per day or one big meal per day. Your body expends energy digesting your food, so eating smaller portions more often keeps your metabolism running high because you’re constantly digesting food.
7. Avoid these as much as possible:
-- Trans fat (any type of partially or fully hydrogenated oil)
-- High fructose corn syrup (soft drinks are LOADED with it)
-- Fast food
-- Junk food
-- White sugar, white flour, white rice, white potatoes
-- The deadly C’s (cookies, cakes, candy, chips, cola)
8. Build your diet around these trim-body-friendly foods:
-- Nuts, any kind (almonds are best)
-- Beans/Legumes
-- Fresh vegetables (green is GREAT!)
-- Dairy products (as long as they’re low-fat or non-fat)
-- Eggs
-- Lean meats (fish and poultry top the list)
-- Olive oil
-- Whole grain breads/cereals/pasta
-- Fresh fruits (anything that ends in “berry” is a winner)
-- Tea (green tea or black pekoe tea)
-- Cold water or ice water (your body has to expend extra calories to heat it up)
9. Desserts and treats are the exception, not the rule. Having said that, however, (1) you can have a couple of pieces of chocolate every day – just don’t overdo, and (2) Allow yourself one “cheat meal” every week where you eat and drink whatever you want as long as you don’t gorge yourself. That’ll help keep you from feeling deprived and it’ll make it easier to stick with your new healthy eating plan.
Good luck!
Cut out processed foods, alcohol, and sugar as much as possible.
Choose the following: lean meat, 2 servings of fat-free or low-fat dairy per day, whole grains, fruits, vegetables, LOTS of water, 2 tsp of healthy oil per day
Eat only until satisfied, not full. A good way to do this is eat a little something, then wait 15 minutes to see if you're really still hungry.
Exercise 30 minutes or more at least 5 times per week. A great way to burn lots of calories is to do interval training: Warm up with a brisk walk for 5 minutes, sprint for 30 seconds, walk for 30 seconds, repeat sprint-walk 5-8 times, 5 minute walk cool-down. Also do some strength training two times per week.
Lose half a stone by eating under 2000 calories per day. Try the GI diet - it's really healthy.
If you lose more than half a stone, you'll be underweight and may become more prone to getting ill, fainting, etc. Whatever you do, don't cut out dairy proiducts or you risk osteoporosis in later life, which is a really painful bone disease.
what in pounds or kg is a stone?
I weigh 85kg, what's my weight in terms of ibs?
Answers: kg's are always X 2.2. For example you weigh 85 kg X 2.2 = 187 lbs.
2.2 U.S. pounds per kilogram.
85 Kg = 187 pounds
No matter what exercise I perform with my home gym, my legs never seem to feel tired the next day...?
I find my legs (or knees in some cases) feeling tired while performing the exercises but the muscles never feel "sore" the next day in the same way my arm/chest muscles do (the good kind of sore, not the ouch I hurt something sore). What leg exercises would be best to get a similar workout with the legs? The only time I've felt this with my legs is while running w/ weights strapped to my ankles.
Also, with the inner-thigh workout I find I can only move my leg a very small distance, is that normal for that workout? Anything farther and I end up moving my hips, twisting my leg, etc...
Answers: Squats and lunges...try those with your own weight on a bar...that will make you sore the next day.
It sounds like you're breathing properly while you're doing it. Good job.
Are you regretting that weekend full of binge drinking now that your bloated and can't fit into your pants?
Answers: Yes!!! and being this tired is no picnic either
Not bloated, but I am hung over and wanna go crawl back into bed.

How do you control you asthma through natural ways. AND Some tips about working out to build muscle.?
I have asthma and wanted to know what wats can I control it without using medicine. I wanted something like treatments, foods, or anything in between. Just something that is natural or at least somewhat natural. Another question is can someone give me some simple workout tips for a begginer. I'm going to be joining my Youth minister in a weight room during the summer and wanted to see what I needed to know and stuff and genrally working out. Oh yeah and what I should do now to get my body energetic enough and healthy enogh to get in a decent workout. I want to build muscle. One more thing can someone give me a simple and easy food plan that wont clash with my school schedule. you know a 3 meal not 5 meal a day plan! Thanks so much for the answers and God bless!Answers: My mother and fraternal twin brother both have asthma. One treatment that they use is coffee, i know that sounds kinda strange but it helps with their chest somehow. Another is opening the window just a tad before going to sleep, and keeping your head close to it, the cool air helps take pressure and pain out of your chest.
I'm am trying to loose weight as well and have been doing some studying and question asking for tips. I have learned a few. Walking helps keep up your metabolism, and works out more muscles than running. Running wears you out quicker and only works the legs, while walking can work out your legs and lower back. Walking keeps your back straight and running curves it in. Also swimming works your arms legs and chest. The water pressure helps ease away pains.
Jump roping can help your upper arms and respiratory system as well as your legs. lol i hope your looking for great legs!!

I also have asthma so I know your pain. Coffee is a good thing for asthma. I forget exactly why. Something to do with the caffeine in it. Foods to generally sta away from include anything salty, (popcorn, chips, etc.). Also, I have learned that the best way to keep my asthma under control is to exercise. Any form of exercise will help. I go to curves and I go to the YMCA. I walk/jog on the treadmill and I lift weights. I do not do a whole lot of weight lifting so I cannot give you sound adviceon that.
