Do we have to eat fruits and vegetables everyday, or can we just eat them once a week? once a month?

They are expensive to be eating them daily. I'm a poor person
Answers: For good health, daily is recommended. You can take a multivitamin, but it's still not the same nor as healthy as getting the "good stuff" from actual fruits and veggies.

How to lose 10pounds in 2 months?

Give me a diet and some quick excersises that I could use to lose weight.
Answers: don't take pills! start walking everyday and work up to jogging. get rid of all the crap in your cupord, stick to salads fish chicken raw fruits and veggies. lay off the soda and sweets.
Exercises every day eat healthy foods and consider a diet pill.
** You can join a fitness club or get a personal trainer.
** Eat plenty of salads or any kind veggie or fruits.
** And look on the internet and find some diet pills that will work for you.

There is a great website called sparkpeople.com. It's like ediets, but it's free. It's a great website that offers a meal plan that suits your body type and gives you exercises to do daily and also has a way for you to count your calories and fat. I love the support it gives and it is so easy to keep track of. The exercises are simple and effective. They are all floor exercises. You can do them with or without weights. It tells you what you need to do to lose the weight. They have a chat forum that you can go to when you are discouraged and find some great stories and support there.

Has anyone ever used the Pedal exercizer?

Answers: i used something similar at the local college. it was used for upper body exercise and thought it was great upper body workout. can't really comment on lower body workout but looks like something cool to do during commercials on T.V. /no way its going to be as good as an exercise bike tho.but it is physical activity and bound to be somewhat good for you./also i looked thru what else Target had and i saw heavyhands. i suggest you look up heavyhands exercise and see if it would be something you would do. you wouldn't even have to buy the heavyhands dumbbell set but just some of those light dumbbells and a book on heavyhands. just another idea to consider

Which burns more calories? 30 minutes of Jump rope or jogging?

Between those two which one would burn more calories?
Answers: jumping rope, as long as you do it continuously without too many breaks during those 30 minutes.
It depends on your heart rate, intensity, fitness level, speed, incline, etc.
Both are good but you might get pretty bored jumping rope for a half hour.
jumping rope, but only if you do it without taking breaks. the pb is jumping rope for 30 minutes straight IS HARD
Jumping rope, but 30 mins is a long time to do it non-stop.

Diet plan, do u think it will work at all guys??

Ok so i have one month to get to my goal! ive gotten down to 8stone 4lbs, now i have a MONTH to loose 7lbs && tone up.

Walk for an hour & half down the town back up the hills everything, every morning at 10:30 then get home for about 11:30 & have readybreak or special k.

at 2:00 have an energy drink && Bannana && go dancing for 30mins then at 4:30 have my main meal which normal is either some sort of meat, with veggies or salad, or low fat soup (weight watchers) && fruit for after, or special k bar. then hit the gym at 6, tredmill && work outs for my stomach && thighs. proberly at the gym while 8 or 7:30.

Do u think this will work in a month? or am i wasting my time?
Answers: Your on a very healthy scedual. If you work out in the morning, make sure you havent eaten anything, so your body goes streight to burning stored fat, instead of food in your belly. If you have eaten, wait at least an hour and a half, or 2, before you work out, because you want your body to burn stored fat. As long as you dont fall off the wagon with junk foods, you should be able to reach your goal. And make sure to mix in lots of cardio, that burns your fat. Jump roping is probley the best from of cardio, you burn more quiker, and the tool is only about $3.00. With food, make sure its all fresh fruits and veggies, nothing canned. Canned goods have to much sodium, and tahts really bad for you and contributes to weight gain
In my humble opinion I feel as though this will work out if you do maybe 3 times a week and on the weekends. Maybe even not as much but if you want to stay in shape jog for 30min. everyday. Also you don't need to starve yourself. Plus add some crunches in the routine they really help a lot, trust me.

Should I indulge myself?

Today is my birthday :) and my sister wants to go out for lunch. I dont want to make a big fuss about calorie/fat content in the food (she HATES that.)

So should I indulge myself just for one day? Even if it means eating more than my fat limit?

Answers: Enjoy your birthday. Everyone is allowed a cheat day every now and again. It is hard to eat right all the time. Endulge and enjoy. If you feel guilty about it, just do an extra 10 minutes or Cardio later.

I feel fat?

im a size 10 (british sizes) and i feel fat like after i eat a meal, i weigh 8stone and i am 5 ft 2 or 3, is this all good for my build etc.. i just wish i was perfect like a model..
Answers: I know how you feel! but ur not fat at all, im a size 8 && 5.3, ur perfect size for ur height. plus most models look like there gonna drop dead. size zero is NOT SEXY. curves are in :)
Every woman feels that way. Don't get discouraged. Eating healthy and exercising will help you feel better even if you don't lose weight.

Getting in shape?

After tearing my ACL 6 years ago I stopped all sports and exercise all together. Im trying to get back in shape by loosing some weight and gaining my muscle back. I dont want to jump into it too quickly so can anyone give me a good website or advice on how to get started so i dont over do it.
Answers: i use the my-calorie-counter.com it has helped me to keep track of my foods and my activities. it is $20 for 6 months. they have communties and blogs where you can meet other people as well. I have really enjoyed it as a whole and have lost 11 lbs in 4 weeks. it gives good tips on foods, excercises and the like as well.

Answers: losing 40 pounds can be unhealthy, if you plan on doing it make sure your diet plan covers about a year or two because losing 40 pounds in a short period of time is bad for you.

Okay. Cut out eating in between meals.
Only eat healthy food and cut down on Carb’s like bread, potatoes, pasta's, rice, cereals, lollies, fruits etc. These are the fat making foods. Learn exactly what your food groups are so you then know what puts the weight on and off.
Don’t add salt to your meals. Cut out soft drinks.
Then walk an hour every morning two hours after a meal and the same in the afternoon.

If you can jog in between both sessions you'll burn even more calories. But just do what your body lets you do. Walking is just as good combined with diet control.
You should lose and continue to lose more weight as you go.
If you can cut out your lunch meal and replace it with a protein drink instead that would also help. Available in supermarkets. Like “Slim Right”.
As long as you can stay off junk food and eating in between meals. If you have to eat something in between have something like small raw carrots or celery sticks.
Herbal teas, low fat milk and water are your best choice of drinks.

Summary:

Choose a cereal low in sugar for breakfast. Remember all cereals are carbohydrates!
Lunch can best be a protein drink. Like “Slim Right”.
And all normal meals at a normal serve. Cut down on potatoes and only have small portions of these. Walking as much as you can.
For those that want to build more muscle add some gym work to the above as well.

Technical Stuff:

All our bodies require a specific quantity of a protein level. The protein is taken from the food we eat. If we eat higher concentrations of protein from specific foods like say meat then that level is reached quickly. If we don’t eat enough protein then our body searches for other sources of protein contained within the Carbohydrates.
Carbohydrates only contain a small amount of protein so we end up consuming too much of it just to get out limit of protein. At the same time absorbing too much sugar from the carbohydrates and in turn too much weight. This is how and why we put on weight. Many people over eat because they don’t consume enough protein from the right sources. Then they over compensate by binge eating carbohydrate type foods.
Eat lots of fruits, low sugar fruits although natural sugar like in fruits is better then fat sugars, eat lots of GREEN veggies. They are the lowest fat and fill you up best that way you'll be less obligated to eat more foods. =]
Keep the "bad" sugar's to a low number and you'll lose about 5-10 lbs from that alone, if you cut down drastically or use none at all. Eat protein, lots of protein.
Work out daily with vigorous work outs, if you don't sweat you arn't losing anything.
Or at least that's what I say. =]

8 to 12 months.
I lost 75 pounds in a year, and have kept it off for 2 years.

BUY Smaller plates, to eat off of.
That way you are eating a plate full every meal.

NO SODAS or Sugared Drinks, (except 1 cup of coffee a day)

Eat breakfast...eggs, bacon and an apple.

Lunch...big salads, or lunch meats and cheeses on 1 slice of grain bread.

Dinner.... meats, veggies, no potatoes, or beans.

Snack...dry popcorn or fruit.

LIMIT bread in take to MAX 2 slices a day... NO potatoes.
no beans,

eat califlower, tomatoes, celery, beets, etc.

drink water...plain water, a gallon every day

MOST IMPORTANT.....

Pick ONE day a week to be splurge day... same day every week, and it can not change.....

eat whatever you want...eat all you want..... it will keep you from getting cravings..... make it saturday OR sunday, or a day off, when you can be home, and enjoy it without nosey people trying to correct you.

if u use the following diet plan u will reduce ur desire weight in few months.
Reduction of weight:
1) Cook your food without any food oil try to use boiled/steamed vegetables, meat, and lot of salad. U can eat fruits too and boiled/steamed chicken or red meat too but no pork.
2) Potato is strictly forbidden during this diet
3) Don’t eat any type of junk food.
4) Drink at least 3 ltr of water daily. Make ur habit to drink water as much as u can
6) use brown bread
6) use skimmed and low fat milk and yogurt
7) no sugar of any type.
8) drink diet pepsi if u like. but just one glass once a day.
U can eat vegetable soap too as much as u can but no corn flour in it. Just cooked
9) if u feel hungry then divide ur diet into 5-6 healthy meals a day (1 plate size only)


at least take this diet for 3 to 6 months and when u fell that u have achieved your desired weight then make ur eating life style as told above but occasionally u can take other junk food too.

the best indoor exercise machine is tread mill. run on tread mill for at least 30 mntns daily. and try to extend ur period for one hour.

Can my life be any better? In what way will looing weight balance my life out?

I just need a few points on a better balanced life after weight loss. In what way will it be balanced? What will change in other areas of my life? Will I like the changes?? HEEEELLLLLPPP!!
Answers: Not much will change in your life ONLY because you lost weight. You will feel better but the way you are and the people around you will not change. Any areas of your life that you are unhappy in will remain the same unless you change the current situation not your weight. The weight loss is an added bonus. Just because you lose weight doesn't mean that your life will change dramatically except for the clothes you buy. If your life is unbalanced know it will remain so after you lose weight unless YOU balance your life now.
You will feel healthier. You will be more inclined to do activities that require strength or endurance, like going to the park. You will balance your indoor workweek with a much more fulfilling outdoor family life.
You will feel better about the way you look. Only fat people say fat is fine and big is beautiful. You will be happy and it will show.
