Diet Fitness Questions and Answers
What will make me slim my thighs faster? Cardio or Pilates?
I wanna slim my thighs really fast. What will help me!!Answers: A combination of both!
CARDIO! It increases blood flow which will help with metabolism. Walking is the simplist ways to get in shape. Walk about a mile in under 30 minutes. and try squats with leg ups where your on all fours and you lift leg up you start seeing results pretty soon if you devote yourself everyday. But don't wok out the same muscle group two days in a row and stretch after workouts just power walk about 2 min before work out or walk.

You can buy pseudoephedrine from your local pharmacist (the chemical that comes in Sudafed). It has been taken off the shelf because people were buying it in large amounts to make methamphetimine. It is usually kept in the pharmacy with other prescription drugs. You do not need a prescription to buy it, but a lot of phamacies have placed a limit on what you can buy in a certain period of time. When I get it, I have to show the pharmacist my I.D. and sign some paperwork so that they can track how much I am buying. My pharmacy has an on-line connection to other local pharmacies, so they can see if I am going to multiple places to buy larger amounts. Sudafed is a great decongestant and it works well for me without making me feel drowsy. I can't take some of the other drugs because they interact with my prescription medicines, so I buy it form time to time. Hope the info helps.
Is this an okay daily diet or should I add or take away some things?
It goes something like this during the week:Breakfast: Yogurt and fruit with coffee
Mid-Morning: Granola bar
Lunch: Soup or a sandwich and fruit
Snack: Cheese and crackers
Supper: Salad
Snack: Veggies
I drink 2-3 L of water, V8, 2-3 cups of coffee and maybe one chocolate bar or some candy just because I love it so much.
I eat a lot on the go because I work 2 jobs and go to school. I don't really have time to cook anything and it's too expensive to buy on the go so I take things from home that are easy to grab in the mornings after 4 hours of sleep. I know I am missing some things like protein but how can I add it in so it's still easy for me? What else can you suggest?
Answers: To add protein, you can have a glass of skim milk with breakfast, and put a bit of chopped up grilled chicken in your salad. For your snack at night, you can put a bit of peanut butter on some vegetables. It would be especially good with something like celery. Also, have fish whenever you can. It's really lean, and it had omega 3 fatty acids that are really good for you.
no snacking or food after 7pm,
try having 5 meals a day (breakfast, snak, lunch, snack and dinner).
make sure the coffee is black or even better drink tea. Much better for you.
I've been using myfitnesspal.com, it tracks everything, tells you how many calories to have aday, how many carbs, protein, ect... for me this has been very helpful. AND IT'S FREE
Peanut butter or peanuts are good for protein, also easy and cheap
I would add some good oil, like hemp seed oil and flax seed oil, they are good source of omega-6 omega-3 that improves hair growth, boosts the immune system, reduces blood clots, increases energy, this oil won't make you fat, it helps you loose weight.... Also, eat more nuts and seed(pumpkin seed, sunflower seed, almond...) for zinc and vitamin B6...and Mango and apricots, carrots, yams, spinach and blueberries as they are rich in beta-carotene (provitamin A), which are essential for healthy skin. and maybe more fiber...research about agar agar, I find it very interesting. and easy on your coffee...try some rooibos tea.
Underweight, overweight, okay?!?!?
I am 12, I weight 75, and I'm 5,0". How much SHOULD I weigh? I think I have fat thighs, this boy I liked, slapped one!! I am comfortable with the rest of my body. How much should I weigh for my age and height?Answers: when i was your age and height i weight 110! maybe i was just a really fat kid. lucky you with the perfect body! hopefully it'll work out with you and whoever skinny person
You sound a bit underweight to me. Most doctors and heath professionals would want a young woman of your height to be closer to 100 pounds.
You should not be letting boys slap you, for any reason. He needs to keep his hands to himself.
My abs are "thick"??
Ok so I am not fat, but I am not petite. I love my legs (they are super muscular because I am a dancer), but my stomach is thick with muscle and small layer of fat. I wish I could have nice thinner abs but still have nice muscle, is there any way I could do this? This is what my stomach looks like from the side (I hate how it isn't flat, it's like a wave):

This is what I want it to look like:

How can I make my abs look like that?
Answers: You are dancer means you are automatically getting exercise while practicing dances and your stomach must be flat, any way do skiiping daily or soorya namaskar daily as much as you can do, after one hour drink atleast three normal glass of water, within a month you will find lot of changes, but do it regularly. Flat stomach is always pride of any woman.
Sit ups will do nothing wat so ever to people who want to lose weight. If you are thin, Try going to a local gym.= )
If i eat eat a bunch of protein and do push ups and sit ups will i see results?
i eat protein and i do a bunch of push ups and crunches, will that build a nice body?Answers: If you add cardio to this you will likely end up with a lean, muscular build, but you will not be "built." To get bulk, you'd have to use more than your own body resistance (read: weight lifting) to achieve it.
As far as the protein consumption goes, your body can only absorb about 20 grams in a two hour period. Your best bet is to consume 20 grams right after your workout (no more than 30 minutes later), then start on your next 20 grams 2 hours later. Basically, space your protein throughout the day.
run as well... and thats about all you should need....
thats if you just want to do that...
weights training is a whole lot more fun...
but pushups and crunches and running will get you ripped.
The young lady gave an excellent response and was very thorough. I am just going to suggest how you can experience hypertrophy (muscle growth) without a weight set. You've got to have more weight than just your body to cause your muscles to grow. In doing push ups, whatever you can balance or strap on your back will work. You want to also do push ups with different angles. Putting your feet on a coffee table will work your upper chest. Doing push ups between two stationary objects with your feet on the floor and your hands up on the objects will work your lower chest. Don't forget to work your back with pull ups and your biceps with chin ups or curling your book bag full of books. You should also include some running, tennis, swimming, or whatever type of "cardio" workout you enjoy. Lastly, never forget to stretch after you run and/or workout. Hold each stretch for at least 20 seconds for them to be effective.
How do Asians stay so thin?
I noticed that Asians EAT SO MUCH! How is it that they stay so thin? Every time I go to a Chinese restaurant with Chinese customers, they only drink hot tea and water. I hardly ever see them drinking soda. But what I really want to know is how they remain so thin? I always see them order so many plates of food and finish it all. Yet, they remain thin. WHAT IS THEIR SECRET? Do they go home and bing and purge?Answers: hey good question!! i am asian too. My family only goes to YUM-CHA(chinese resturant) occasionally, but rarely, like once on school holidays. The reason why the hot tea, instead of soda is because its traditional to have tea while you eat. I think it makes your immune system stronger, leaving you healthy and strong, and it gives a yummy texture to the food. But anyway onto the question.... we have a very healthy balance diet, because my family regulary eat fish more than meat with rice with every meal (and sometimes breakky!). Not only that there is always the green veges on the side. So our Metablisom are strong and balanced! :)
im asian
5 foot 1 and 89 lbs
well, i hate soda
and when i order food i always order a lot but never finish and eat it for leftovers the days after
i think the question is ...
why are white people so fat ?
jkjk
I am an asian and yes I do eat a lot for my size but somehow I remain small. But not all asians drink tea. In fact a lot of my friends drink sodas. I guess its genetic. Or maybe because we eat less fatty food. Like fish, rice, white meat and vegetables.
I am 155cm and 38kg.
it's in our genes...
moreever, TEA helps .. make it a habit...
I was shopping in a drug store once when these asian girls
came in. I noticed they bought a lot of stuff I wouldn't ordinarily buy (seeing as I'm kind of big myself) They got cans of coconut juice, bottles of green tea, guava juice, and lots of other healthy stuff. I think that's why they stay so thin, they know how to buy healthy food. That and probably a diet of rice and fish. I don't think Asian populations eat as much four legged animal protein. They tend to stick to fish. I think that's why they stay so thin.
Genetics. But there are lot's of asians that are average or fat too. But your right there's lot's of skinny ones in comparison to caucasian.
My mom is Asian and she stays very thin. She eats mostly rice and vegetables and occasionally some fatty American food. She also eats fish and in small portions.
So, I think that Asians' diets are the reason they are so skinny.
I know you being so intelligent, n asking such a useless questions....which has nothing to do with any growth of life...Whats make you difference, even if you come to know, the reasons why Asians, thin ? Secondly you are travelling so much, you might be coming in contact of so many people..tell some, nice experience of them, or their psychology so we can also enjoy....
Water weight question?
So just yesterday i weighed myself and i was at 177, then today I went back to my original weight 183. Can someone tell me if all of those 6lbs are water weight? I work out everyday for an hour, and it's always an intense workout, please let me know! Thanks!Answers: It is simply impossible to eat enough in a single day to gain that much weight in terms of actual fat weight. Yes, it is water. There are a number of factors that can influence water weight gain, including diet, exercise, hormones, stress, and quality of rest. Don't worry about it; water weight will pass, particularly if you are working out every day.
Look, Weight loss is really quite simple; there are only two things you need do to reach your goals:
1. Restrict daily calories to 1600 calories per day. By increasing the amount of fruits and vegetables you eat, you will be able to keep your intake at this level without feeling hungry or uncomfortable.
2. Exercise for one hour a day, every single day. It can be anything from pilates to just plain walking, but do it. One hour. Every day.
This is a pretty simple recipe for weight loss, but it works. It has worked for me; I have lost 62 pounds this way. It will work for you if you commit to it and stick to it.
Good luck!
Are you sure the scale is accurate? Weigh yourself 4 times. The scale should be the same number each time.
When should i take my creatine pills?
forgive my ignorance, but i bought a jar of creatine pills, and it says to take 6 pills..ok fine, but am i supposed to take em before or after my workouts?and how long before/after?Answers: 6 pills sounds like a lot, even if it is only a loading phase.
it doesn't matter when you take it as long as you space it out evenly. Try taking one before and after your workout.
And the others can be spaced out any where throughout the day/night. As long as it gets in your system it doesnt matter.
Just dont take it all at once because your body can only absorb so much at once.
By the way, I've been taking creatine for 2-3 weeks now and have seen some results in my lifting sessions. More energy to complete my reps and able to add more weights, etc.
Just don't take TOO MUCH, and be sure to drink plenty of water. Also don't get too dependent on it so cycle off it for a month every 2-3 months or your body wont be able to make its own form of creatine.
Oh yea, and take 30-60min before you workout, and almost immediately afterwards.
never. you're wasting your money.
When i start fast?
Answers: huh?
i dont think you started this time
Who thinks we should not reply to any questions about "how do I become anorexic or bulimic"?
How many of you are sick of all these people who put post on here about trying to become anorexic or bulimic? These people are just a mockery to those who are really suffering from this which happens to be a mental disorder, not something that one day you decide to get. Why don't we all disregard these inane questions and not give any reply at all? It's just a waste of time when there are legitimate people who have genuine health concerns. Comments:Answers: I say we report those and answers that actually support food disorders. We can't have those on here. What if some kid would read that and think that eating disorders are a good thing?
I agree those questions are about as bad as the ones saying i like cutting myself why do i do it. :P
Ignore them...to bad we cant delete them
I agree, god made us the way we are, we should love ourselves. We can't help the way we are, if we were born to be bigger, we exercise HEALTHY to get to a better weight. If we were born slim, then we are lucky.
I agree with you on your question asked. I have read advice to the people who want to know how to become anorexic, commit suicide, etc. & unfortunately, people respond with answers, telling them how. I can't believe it!!
I don't feel well.
Seriously how do i lose weight fast and like 50 pounds is how much overweight i am my doctor says so so how?
Answers: First and foremost, do not "diet". Instead, change your eating habits. Learn to read labels. My husband suffered a ministroke in August. He weighed 214 and was told by his doctor to drop his weight to 170. Right now, he weighs 164 and his doctor is proud of him. He did not try any fad diets, nor did he use diet pills. He takes a multivitamin pill each day to help but the most important part is to rethink what and how you eat. Fruits, Vegetables are your best friends. Limit your salt intake as it will not only help you with possible blood pressure problems in the future, but will also cut out a few pounds in water weight. Eat lean meat, poultry, fish and seafood in moderation. Limit bread intake and the same goes for sweets. READ LABELS! That is what they are there for. To guide you to better nutrition, make an appointment with a nutritionist to help you find the right caloric intake for you and to make sure you are losing weight in a healthy manner. If you don't reach your goal in the time limit given to you by your doctor, do not be discouraged. Crash diets and starvation or eating disorders are far worse. If you lose weight slowy but steadily, you will have a much better chance of keeping it off. I have my own health concerns and have lost 25 pounds in two years. I was not trying to lose weight at first, just made to see that I had to eat better. A year later, I found I had to control my salt intake and have since been limited to 2g or less a day. I have learned to manage at 1.5g or less.
One trick my husband and I both have is to find one thing that can be a "treat". For me, since I am not on a caloric restriction, but a sodium one is Dove dark chocolate. For my husband, it is blue bunny no fat, no sugar icecream. It all comes down to finding what is right for you and only you, your doctor and a nutritionist can find that happy medium.
(P.S. although I can't eat out much, you can still eat out in fast food restaurants...most have nutritional listings on their websites and from there, you can choose what is right for you. Don't be afraid to ask to substitute...after all, a baked potato at Wendy's is better for you then french fries and a side salad is even better.)
Eat three balanced meals a day. (such as with all the essential food groups, but in SMALL (aka normal) servings). Do not skip meals, eating 3 times a day speeds up your metabolism and helps you burn fat faster.
that and exercise, mostly cardio such as running, jogging, walking, etc. Lifting weights helps with muscle tone, but not with losing weight. Cardio on the other hand helps you burn fat and tones your body.
1. Take Alli diet pills 3 times a day.
2. Eat a small meal for breakfast.
3. Eat a medium lunch.
4. Have no other meals.
5. Do not drink anything that contains calories.
6. Drink a cup of Slim Tea each day.
7. Take a multi-vitamin each day.
Print out this information, do everything on the list with no cheating. It takes time, but in 4-5 months from now you will be slim. Continue this diet, it's more a way of life than it is a loose weight in two weeks diet. You may add a third meal once or twice a week, but make sure it is light.
Also, look up the 'Rice Diet Journal', it is the 1980's Duke University weight loss plan. And read any other diet books you can get your hands on. Never stop learning. ;)
First of all, dont obsess about it, and whatever you do, DONT starve yourself, or stop eating! You can actually make yourself gain weight by not eating, because any little thing you put in yourself, your body will save.
Second, eat right.
Eating some grapes, peaches, strawberries, or mango, is natually sweet, nutritious, and better for you than a candy bar.For one, bite size snickers, you would have to walk four miles to burn of all the calories you consumed in that little devil. But remember, that it isnt bad to have a little extra sugar, as long as it is in small portions, and you are doing everything the right way. I got this from webMD health and diet:
"Fortified, enriched, added, extra, and plus. This means nutrients such as minerals and fiber have been removed and vitamins added in processing. Look for 100% whole-wheat bread, and high-fiber, low-sugar cereals.
Fruit drink. This means there's probably little or no real fruit and a lot of sugar. Instead look for products that say "100% Fruit Juice."
Made with wheat, rye, or multigrains. These products have very little whole grain. Look for the word "whole" before the grain to ensure that you're getting a 100% whole-grain product.
Natural. The manufacturer started with a natural source, but once it's processed the food may not resemble anything natural. Look for "100% All Natural" and "No Preservatives."
Organically grown, pesticide-free, or no artificial ingredients. Trust only labels that say "Certified Organically Grown."
Sugar-free or fat-free. Don't assume the product is low-calorie. The manufacturer compensated with unhealthy ingredients that don't taste very good and, here's the kicker, have no fewer calories than the real thing."
Third, excersise.
Take the time to go for a nice jog around your block a couple of times, and set a scheduale. Go get yourself a nice little pedometer to tell you how many calories you are burning off, divide the number of calories you want to take care of that week into the days, and off you go.
Lastly, beleive in yourself.
If you dont think that you can do it, you arent going to have the will to, and your will power is the thing that will blast you right through those fifty pounds.
