If I split a 40 minute work out...?
into two sessions will it have the same effect or not?I have posted many different times about working out and trying to loose weight, but I never really did anything. The other night I went out and really didn't have a good time because I was too scared to hit on anybody. I need to get in shape so I can get my confidence and self esteem levels up.
Will working out in the morning and then at night have any effect if the workouts are about 20 minutes a piece.
P.S.
the work outs are turbo Jam, the 20 minute work out.
Answers: yes this will work, its actually a smarter way to work out being that u are not use to it a steady 40 min work out will most likely strain your muscles which will cause a pulled muscle or extreme soreness, starting out slow and working your way up is the best way to start, also drink lots of h20 and take potassium pills to help out your muslces...good luck
Yes, working out twice a day is great, you will keep your metabolism up. Try it and see how it works for you.
What is this "new nutrition" I keep hearing about?
My younger brother was recently deemed "borderline-obese" by his physician, and placed on a strict diet. Since I'm his guardian, I'm obligated to seriously stay on him about this. My brother tells me that he's been placed on the "new nutrition" diet, that's supposed to cover all of the major food groups. He explained it to me like this: a spicy chipotle chicken sandwich covers the daily protein and grain requirements; a side of french fries covers the daily vegetable requirement; a large glass of fruit punch covers the daily fruit requirement; and a handful of Oreo cookies cover the daily sugar requirement (I didn't even know there was a daily sugar requirement). I tried to contact the physician directly, but haven't been able to reach him at the telephone number given to me by my brother. I sorta get the feeling that I'm being deceived. Is this "new nutrition" legit?Answers: I think you are being deceived (smile).
yes, trust me
your brother knows what he's talking about
way to go little bro!
but on a more serious note........are you kidding?
better contact his physician for some healthy nutritional guidelines.......
Can't blame the little guy for trying though......
Do you know anyone who takes topamax to lose weight?
Answers: I take it for migraines, but I also use the not eating side effect to just... not eat. It's amazing I don't have to worry about my weight and I'm down to 120! It's a miracle drug, as long as you get past it making you stupid, and being thirsty all the time.
What is the best snack to have before bball practice??
Answers: You don't want to eat too heavy because you'll be uncomfortabl while pracitcing. A combination of carbs/protien is a good idea since protien will help your muscles buid and carbs will help your energy level. Maybe have an apple (carb) and some cottage cheese (protien).
Power Bar and Gatorade
Question about weight watchers.....?
ok, so i just started weight watchers today.... I had a bowl of cereal this morning and a medium sized bagel with a little bit of cream cheese for lunch.... i am so hungry right now..... i actually have 2 questions..... was it ok for me to eat that bagel for lunch? and my other question is wat can i eat now to keep my stomach satisfied until dinner? i can have 24 points in a day..... thank you for answeringAnswers: 1. Bagels aren't the greatest choice since the average bagel has 8 points or so and is very heavy. A whole wheat bagel is better than a white one, and if you crave bagels maybe have 1/2 instead. Cream cheese is pure fat, so again not a great choice. Maybe put jam, natural peanut butter or something else on it instead. On a positive note, the bagel is better than Mcdonalds! So long as you eat light for the rest of the day and stay within your points, you will be okay.
2. What can you eat now depends on how many points you have left and what you plan on having for dinner. Remember that fruits are low, 1-2 points, and most veggies like carrots, lettuce etc. have 0 points. Weight watchers has an excellent soup receipe that has 0 poitns as well and helps keep your tummy full. A bag of the low fat popcorn (most hae 2 points) is good, water of course will keep you full. There are many options! There is also low fat yogurt.
3. 30 minutes of cardio is good. Make sure you challenge yourself though!
not 2 discourage u
but a bagel is equvilent to a loaf of bread. but other than tht ur good and dont starce yourself!
I was a WW Leader, so have a few tricks up my sleeve!! I always found that the veggie soup helped. Just loads of 'free' veggies, boiled in a stock, then I personally 'blitzed' it to make it thicker. You can always make a fruit salad and keep it in the fridge. Someone I knew used to buy a whole chicken, cook it and keep it in the fridge so that when she was peckish she could just go and help herself. There are many recipes for low pointed soups and low pointed casseroles. Always keep fruit handy too, along with yoghurts. It kinda depends on whether you prefer savoury or sweet foods.
What is the best "diet: plan to loose weight somewhat quickly??
i am a nursing mommy that doesn't always have good eating habits...well 9 times out of 10 i eat bad. Keep in mind i cant afford those fancy meal plan things. I need help and guidance :-)Answers: You could look up the 'cabbage soup diet' on the net. Cheap, and good for a 7 day kick start to a more moderate diet.
Don't loose weight to fast, as you will put it back on just as fast as loosing it. You want to aim for 2lb a week. Cut down on you carb intake or go for low carb food, eat fruit and veg too, cut down on red meat.
If watermelon is 92% water by weight. Why is it that only 1 cup has 48 g of calories.?
Im on a diet and I bought 2 watermelons. Do you think its okay to eat them. Im trying to avoid fat and sugars and have joined a gym.Sorry one more question how much should i eat daily. (it has around 7g of sugar per 100g)
thanks
Answers: Of course it's okay to eat watermelon! It's a great snack and it's filling. However, it does contain quite a bit of sugar and doesn't have a lot of fiber to slow down its absorption.
But here's a secret. After a workout, your muscles are sore, damaged, and need something to help repair them, it's okay to have watermelon then because most of the sugar-carbs will be used for muscle repair. (Chocolate milk is fine, even! Yum!)
Enjoy about a cup of watermelon daily. The lycopene is healthy, even if watermelon is mostly insubstantial, and the water content will help keep you hydrated.
First of all, calories aren't measuring in grams. There's no such thing as "g of calories."
Second of all, I'm not a nutritionist or anything, but I do know that there are a whole lot of things that have more calories than that. When you consider how many calories a cup of meat, cheese, nuts, sweets, or even healthy things like apples contains, that really doesn't seem to be that many. Sounds to me like they'd be fine to eat.
refrain ur dieting...
its just confusing u... eat everything u want to eat... u should do that

What is the recomended amount of carbs for eah day????
Answers: 300 grams is the average recommended per day, but if you are trying to diet somewhere closer to 150. It always depends on how active you are, how old you are, and other factors, but basically 45% of your calories should be from carbs.
How can i get stronger?
i am only 13 can you give me some ways i can get stronger like what kinds of exercises and maybe some pills or something??and how can i gain weight?
Answers: The best part of training is that you can start young. Many schools these days are incorporating weight training into their Physical Education classes. This not only benefits the student athletes, but it also benefits those kids who want to live a healthier lifestyle. Throughout this article you will find different tips and techniques on how teens can train properly and safely.
It's obvious that during the teen years there are a lot of physical and hormonal changes for both males and females. Without turning this into a sex education class, we will skip over all of the details and get into the exercise aspect.
Because teens are still growing, they need to make sure they aren't pushing a weight that they aren't able to properly execute with the correct form. By trying to push too hard and too heavy too quickly could result in injuries.
Obviously, this is something we are trying to avoid. Teens can safely do any exercise if done with proper form and with the proper weight. Injuries occur when teens are unsupervised and also when they put their egos before their abilities. Many teens feel the pressure of others to lift more weight than they can handle. This is where form is compromised and injuries can occur.
Now lets break things down...
Training
*
Training can be done 3-5 days a week.
*
The sessions should be short - anywhere between 30-60 minutes.
*
It is best to train each body part once a week.
*
Teens can benefit the most by using compound exercises such as:
Bench press
Squats
Shoulder press
Rows
Deadlifts
*
If the volume is increased then it is best to keep the intensity lower. Volume and intensity are inversely related. So just the opposite is true-if the volume is low, then keep the intensity high.

*
Sets should be kept to around 5-8 per body part.
*
Sets should be based on what body part you are working. For the larger muscle groups (legs, back, chest) you can be in the upper set range and for the smaller muscle groups (shoulders, arms) you should be in the lower set range.
*
The reps can be anywhere between 8-15.
Teens will find that they will gain strength before they gain size-this is normal. As time progresses, their size gains will increase with their strength.
Here are some sample workout routines (order of days can vary):
* Day 1: Chest/Triceps
* Day 2: Legs/Shoulders
* Day 3: Back/Biceps
* Day 1: Chest/Biceps
* Day 2: Legs/Shoulders
* Day 3: Back/Triceps
* Day 1: Chest
* Day 2: Back
* Day 3: Legs
* Day 4: Shoulders/Arms
* Day 1: Chest
* Day 2: Back/Shoulders
* Day 3: Legs
* Day 4: Arms
* Day 1: Chest
* Day 2: Back
* Day 3: Legs
* Day 4: Shoulders
* Day 5: Arms
* Day 1: Chest
* Day 2: Quads/Calves
* Day 3: Back
* Day 4: Hamstrings/Shoulders
* Day 5: Arms
i am 13 and im a body builder i do alot of work out like benching a ton of push ups and i do flies for pex (-: and i lay on my back and put my feet up six inches in the air for about five minutes this is for a nice six pack. do alot of dung bells. and for pills take alot of amino acids.
Why does eveybody say this to me?
ok see, when ever i go out all my friends say im at a good weight but im 5'2 and way 120 pounds, i dont feel right and people tell me that girls who are 5'2 should weigh 100 puonds..am i 20 pounds overweight?Answers: it all depends on your amount of muscle, body structure, and a bunnch of other things. i dont think weight is really most important.
however, you might want to try checking calculating your body mass index, which you can do easily online for free.
of course not,
everyones different
there is no specific weight depending on height
listen to your friends...they are right :D
Who said girls that are 5ft2 should weigh 100lb? Maybe small boned girls that haven't hit puberty yet, but not for everyone else.
120lb is a perfectly good weight for a medium boned 5ft2 female. You are definitely not 20lb overweight so don't listen to the people that say these things, just listen to your friends ok. You are fine : )
It's all about where the weight is. Unfortunately, weight means surprisingly little on its own. If you're very muscular, you can easily weigh a lot more than an obese person, especially if you're a guy. Look at the football players on TV; the big guys are usually over 250 pounds, which is a lot more than even most fat people.
If you've got a thin waist, but you other areas of your body are larger (in women, most notably waist and breasts) then that's perfectly normal and you're completely healthy. I'm no expert on women's weight, but I would think that 120 pounds is about normal for a woman who is 5'2".
