Answers: When we want to get rid of body fat, there is no way to specifically burn fat from one part of the body. Doing situps won't burn the fat that is covering your abs and doing tricep extensions won't get rid of the fat that is covering your triceps. The only thing you can do is lose weight all around and eventually the problem area will also improve. The way to burn fat is through a calorie restricted diet in conjunction with an exercise routine that will burn calories. Activities that burn calories include running, biking, swimming and other high intensity activities.

You are going to want to cut your calories, workout (cardio), make sure you are walking/running/elliptical & situps! Just get in a routine... if you're sitting there and watching TV, do situps during the commercials.

Answers: to lose 10lbs reasonably it would take approx. 4-5 weeks. just start off cutting out sweet, sugary foods , and lower your intake of carbohydrates, increase protein intake. drink 8 glasses of water a day. and also start off with a moderate exercise regime such as walks then increased the length of walks, or a fun activity such as swiming. and aslo try to do 20-30 sit ups a day.good luck

Answers: You exhale on the positive movement. A positive movement is the portion of the lift where the weight is going up. Against gravity For most lifts this is pretty easy to see, but remember, on exercises like pull downs you pull the bar down while the weight goes up That's the opposite of most exercises. As I said the weight dictates the positive motion, so exhale as you pull the bar down. On exercises like push-up, and sit-ups you are the weight. Exhale while going up.
Exhale on the hardest portion of the exercise.
Example: On the Pushup or Bench Press, Exhale as you push from the floor or as you move the bar away from your chest.
On the Barbell curl, you would exhale as you bring the bar up towards your chest.
Don't hold your breath. Holding your breath should only be done for advanced movements and better athletes.

I am a 27 year old female and I would like to lose about 6 pounds. An aquaintance we know who is a doctor told me that you can't lose weight by exercising, it will only maintain your current weight. Is that true? I dont believe it. Also, I dont overdo it on junkfood at all; I try to eat healthy in general. And I would also like to lose weight in my stomach area. I am losing in my waist quickly. If you want to lose it you have to move it.
Eat 5 - 6 small meals a day until you get to the correct caloric intake for you body.
Perform cardio 3 - 4 times a week at a challenging pace for 20 - 30 minutes and at least 2 times a week you should be performing some type of reistance traning.

First of all.....what kind of doctor did you talk to? That is absolutely ridiculous!!! Of course you can lose weight by exercising.....try it and you will prove him wrong!
You can't "target lose" weight.....you can tone certain areas but when weight loss occurs it's a "total body" thing.
Just eat healthy, walk your 30-45 minutes a day and you will see that I am right.

Your doctor must not know what he's doing. Because exercise helps you to lose weight, it lowers bad cholesterol, reduces your body fat percentage, and gives you more energy. Although exercise alone can be useless unless you modify your diet. Lower your fat and sugar intake, and you will lose weight.
Had eating disorder/ now on celexa and can't loose weight.. Help!?
I've had eating disorders as long as I can remember (I'm 26 now) about 6 months ago my Dr. said that I had obessive compulsive disorder and put me on Celexa for that and my bulimia. I use to be obessed about my weight. Now I feel much better.. I don't obsess anymore.. but I've gained 25lbs I'm 5'3'' and weigh 170! But I can't stop eating.. and I have no desire to work out. I use to be a work out fiend.. what do I do? My Dr. says I'm ok. and try to work out more.. But I can't get motivated. My joints are starting to hurt from all the weight. About Getting motivated - that's another situation. Think about what you dislike about your condition. If you don't like looking the way you do, then your motivation is looking good. I know this can be hard (I'm very skinny but sometimes I find it hard to work out, even though looking buff motivates me). you just have to push through the temptation to not do it. Music helps. I don't know if you've heard of Rascall Flatts, but I love them. Music keeps your mind off of whatever your doing, and walking is probably one of the easiest things to keep your mind off of, especially if you're walking in a beautiful area.

does paraplegic mean that all the person can do is blink his/her eyes?if so i dont think there is much he could do.He could practice blinking 1 eye at a time and timing how many blinks he can do in 1 minuet.
