Is it impossible to lose weight if you drink energy drinks?

FIRST OF ALL I KNOW ENERGY DRINKS ARE BAD FOR YOU!! But, I am really tired at when I get off work and if I do not drink one I will sometimes skip the gym instead. Drinking a energy drink would still be better than not going to the gym at all right? If I eat healthy and go to the gym an energy drink will
not impossible to lose weight? I UNDERSTAND THAT IF I DO NOT DRINK AN ENERGY DRINK THE WEIGHT WOULD COME OFF QUICKER BUT I AM TO TIRED WITHOUT IT AND I CAN DO EXTRA SETS OR CARDIO IF NEEDED
Answers: Your issue is part mental and part physical, but mostly mental. The energy drink is no more than a habit and a crutch.

Don't think about the workout, just go to the gym. After 20-30 minute warmup on the treadmill or stationary bike, you'll be refreshed and ready to rock. Trust me, it works every time.

As for the weight loss thing, its calories in versus calories out. Even though energy drinks aren't nutritionally sound, they don't contain enough calories to have much of an impact unless you're pounding them down one after the other. Bear in mind that "going to the gym" doesn't burn any calories. Lifting burns some, but nowhere near what you'd like to think. Sitting on the bench between sets burns nothing.

If your primary goal is weight loss, you'd be best served by concentrating on one or all of the big three aerobic exercises: Running, cycling and swimming.
Since you need an energy drink, try the new diet sports drink out by Powerade. Keep to one or two servings. Drinking a regular sports drink won't help you take off pounds. Add 10 min. more to cardio and weight lifting, which should help. You might also try eating a little something before working out instead of an energy drink.

Daily Workout?

I've been working out every day for about 2 weeks so far. I normally spend 30-40 minutes on the elliptical machine and then weight lift on the machines for about 10 minutes and do some crunches.

What are your suggestions for keeping at your workout?

its more eficient , you can focus your training in especific areas such as weight loss , areobic endurance o anaerobic threshold , body tonning etc

whith the weights you should contineu for 2 o 4 more weeks with a general body strenthening training and then you should start a more specific routine for you to not get more muscle than what you aim to have

Can acupuncture help me lose weight?

I have no hormonal problems and I am OK with diet and exercise. if I do diets I can lose weight easily. but my problem is that I cannot motivate to lose weight or even if i did on the third or forth day of my diet i get upset and give up. i dont like eating alot but still i binge on junk food.so i think it is psychological. i really want to eat healthy and lose weight. i heard acupuncture can heal the stress and help you get over your downs during the diet. is that true?

You could also try massages, or a quick, vigorous set of sprints, which get your blood flowing and releases endorphins.

Also try meditation. Some people sit in a chair or sit Indian-style when meditating, but I like to get my favorite blanket, spread it out on the floor, and lay on my back--but don't do that if you're really tired or you'll be snoozing! Inhale deeply as you tense different parts of your body. Exhale as you release the tension. I like to start with the face and work all the way down to my toes.

Once you get good at it, waking from meditation is like waking from a good, solid nap.

Go to a truck stop, and look for two things...

1) Black Ice (you want only the straight caffene type) "Fat Burn"

I'm having a hard time losing weight!!?

I need a guide to help me lose weight. I don't eat healthy and its almost hard to find an exercise routine that i can stick with. I have about 5 months and I want to lose around 15 lbs. I'm currently around 130 lbs and I am 5'2. I drink Soda everyday, so i'll need to cut back gradually. My problems areas are my stomach, my arms and my thighs. please HELP! :-(

1. Restrict daily calories to 1600 calories per day. By increasing the amount of fruits and vegetables you eat, you will be able to keep your intake at this level without feeling hungry or uncomfortable.

2. Exercise for one hour a day, every single day. It can be anything from pilates to just plain walking, but do it. One hour. Every day.

This is a pretty simple recipe for weight loss, but it works. It has worked for me; I have lost 62 pounds this way. It will work for you if you commit to it and stick to it.

Also, if you can, hire a personal trainer to work out with you and give you a diet.

If not, find a friend who wants to go to the gym. Tell her you want to go in the morning. That way, you'll have more motivation not to let her down by flaking.
The same problem I have ..... but i guess the only way to lose weight is to eat properly,,, try to eat in a timeframe of three and a half hours, like if you eat at 9am,, next meal would be 12:30 pm,,,,instead of soda,, just drink water... if you can't resist,, diet sodas could be a substitute,.,,,
also three days in a weel make sure you have at least a cardio or any excercise at all (taking the stairs,, walking home,,,pushups,,dumbell lifting) so your metabolism could develop faster....

My busy schedule from work has deprived me from hitting the gym. But my will to have a well-toned abs has never stopped me from getting that by doing some home exercises and being in a diet program. Vegetables, lean meat, eggs, brown rice, wheat and oat bran, and dairy products like milk and cheese are considered as healthy meal perfect for your diet especially when you're exercising. Cut down on alcohol, soda, and sweets. A rigid work out like stomach crunches and sit ups can help in losing fats in your belly. It has incredibly changed my lifestyle and I am getting the results I deserve.

I'm fat and I'm trying to lose weight. However, I was slim when I was young so I can't accept being fat. A lot of people have basically been heavy all their lives. I know a two year girl who weighs more than her 4 year old sister! Don't tell me that's not genetic!

Also, a lot of people truly don't care about their looks. WHy? Because their parents loved them for who they were and they accept themselves. People like that sometimes are more attractive than a "ripped" person with extreme self esteem issues.
To some of the above answerers, yeah it is true that geneitics have something to do with it but that is not the case with most overweight people. While some do have diseases that cause them to gain weight, most of them just eat themselves that way without any exercise.

While in the US, no matter what weight category you're in, you're gonna be called names. Fatty, shrimp, scrawny, no necks, etc. Gotta get used to it and just go with the flow. If you're happy with how you are, kudos to you. Just don't expect everyone to have your back and your same thoughts if you're not their exact body type.
If you want fat people to loose weight than I'll tell you to get ten times smarter.

Excersise plan?

First off i live on the 32nd floor of my apt complex. I take the stairs up everyday. On Sundays and Wednesday I lift heavy. Is this a good plan. I'm 5'10" and about 190 and want to be at 175 by year end. Is this a good start?
Answers: Lifting 2 days a week is okay...not great. 3 or 4 days would be better and not so "heavy", but it sounds like a real good start. 32nd floor is a lot of stairs...like 700 each way...that's good.
If your just looking to lose weight this is a good start. Stair climbing is a very good cardio workout. It also works out your legs and glutes. I would soon try jogging up and down those stairs. That would be a really good workout, and definitely help shed the pounds off. But don't also forget about your diet. No matter how much cardio you do, if your out there eating McDonalds and the likes, you won't see fast results

Anywhere I can find a free meal planner online?

What's your opinion of the "Total" cereal?

I asked this question yesterday, but decided to ask again to get different opinions from different people.

My view on the cereal that it can be somewhat risky to eat if you already have a balanced diet. The cereal provides 100% of different vitamins and minerals in one serving, but what happens when you go over the daily requirements? Excess vitamin C for example can provoke kidney stones, and vitamin A in large amounts can have negative side effects. This is an amateur conclusion, but what do you think about it?
Answers: Most dry cereals are highly processed and not healthy. Unfortunately, good ingredients don't negate the presence of bad ones. Most "healthy" cereals are marketed as such and highlight the good aspects, but of course keep silent about the bad stuff. Here's an ingredient listing of Total:

Whole grain wheat, sugar, calcium carbonate, corn syrup, salt lactose, distilled monoglycerides, vitamin C (sodium ascorbate), zinc and iron (mineral nutrients), vitamin E (tocopheryl acetate), niacinamide, calcium pantothenate, annatto extract color, vitamin B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride), vitamin B2 (riboflavin), vitamin B1 (thiamin mononitrate), folic acid, vitamin A (Palmitate), vitamin B12, and vitamin D. Freshness is preserved by BHT, a synthetic antioxidant (preservative).

Look at the second and fourth ingredients, primary ingredients being sugar - it's like you're eating a bowl of sugar and processed chemicals. It's also loaded with chemicals and preservatives. Those should be of much greater concern than the vitamin/mineral content. Of course, you cannot find the ingredient listing on their website, just basic nutritional info that of course outlines how many vitamins and minerals it has, and I suspect there's a reason for this:

I suggest instead having a good bowl of oatmeal, the whole kind (not the packaged kind) and get a decent multi-vitamin/mineral. You can find some actual healthier dry cereals but they can be hard to find, you just have to keep a close eye on what is in them and where they come from.

As for getting an excess of vitamins and minerals, most of these are excreted anyway. Those who have problems with their body processing micronutrients typically already have a poor diet or pre-existing health problems - healthy people usually do not tend to have issues.
Its ok to go over the daily requirents but nothing huge. But make sure those are daily requirements for your calorie level because those are for 2000 calories a day and if thats what you do, than thats your requirement.

Any good exercise to improve eyesight?


Answers: There are many different types of exercises for vision improvement like moving eyes in every direction, moving focus quickly between close and far objects, some techniques for relaxation of your eyes, etc. They are efficient, but you must practice them every day.

You will notice temporary improvements in your eyesight within a few days, but you may need to practice them for several months to achieve considerable permanent improvement.

I was able to improve my own vision this way.

down the page put about 10 lines 2 cm's apart. and every day put the paper on your nose and look at the line firthest from you and work your way up..
do it slowly so you dont strain your eyes.
