4'11" (almost 5 feet!) and 85 pounds. i know i'm underweight, you don't need to tell me. how do i gain weight?
I swim for an hour and thirty minutes daily, and have p.e. 4 days a week for 40 minutes. i eat until i'm full every day but i just don't gain weight. (i know this might sound good to you people, but everyone at school tells me i'm anorexic and i'm not! my doctor even told me i need to start putting on some pounds fast! my dad says i just have a really fast metabolism... but still!)Answers: Work out in the weight room with weights.
This will result in healthy, weight gain because this weight will be healthy, lean, hard, firm, solid muscle.
After your work out drink 2 glasses of milk.
Drinking milk after a work out, builds muscle fast.
I'm 5 foot 7 inches and I weigh 140Ibs, I wish I was 125Ibs however muscle weighs more than fat and it's also smaller than fat.
Just don't make the unhealthy mistake of eating junk food food such as fast food, cold cuts, dry-cured sausages, and drinking soda.
eat lots of nuts between meals
use olive oil in ur meals
Don't go for Mcdonald's thats for sure. It'll just increase ur blood pressure and give u a better chance to get cancer. Try Mcdonald's once a week. Go for some subway and maybe, just maybe, you couldstart eating some junk. You know a bag of skittles between classes. Olive oil is also a great way to help gain weight. Put that in some of ur meals.
u need to eat more.A way to do this is to snack between meals. When u are doing hw, snack on some crackers. When u are watching tv, eat a bag of chips, etc. i dont suggest eating fast food tho. They have a lot of trans fat in them and are very bad for u. U might instead, get a heart attack and kidney failure. I suggest u eat a lot of high calorie foods, like chips. But dont eat too much cake or cookies tho, because although they are high calorie, they have a lot of sugar and u might instead, end up getting diabetes. When i was in fourth grade, i was really short and skinny. Like 4'10 and...66 pounds....(u could actually see my ribs, altho i did eat a lot of healthy food at home) then i ate a lot of chips, cup noodies, junk food, etc, and i gained about 30 pounds....and grew a couple of inches. Bad side effect is that u get a sore throat easily, all those chips....but this is a good way for u to become normal weight.
and i think u should exercise less. u are burning too much calories....
hope this helps.
EDIT: dont listen to witch. u are exercising too much already! unless u quit swimming and lift weights instead. that would work. Just so u know and this is true: if u exercise too much, ur muscles, instead of getting bigger will shrink. Why? When u exercise, u rip ur muscles. Then they heal and grow bigger. But if u exercise too much, u rip them but then they dont get a chance to heal. Which is why after u finish excersing, dont exercise those muscles until after about 24 hours later.
you wanttt to gain weight? im 5 2' and i weigh 88. i dont wanna change
How does body weight differ between men and women?
Answers: Men are generally heavier than women. Males have more lean mass and less body fat than women do and this can cause them to weigh more as muscle/bone tends to adds more weight than fat does. Males are also generally taller and again, this adds weight.
men tend to have more muscle mass then women, and women have a harder time losing weight because their body is always preparing just in case they become pregnant, other then that i don't think there are many differences

I Need to Lose Weight BADLY!?
I just turned 18 not more than two months ago... I'm about 5'7" and I weigh 231 pounds.. I'm not at all comfortable with this number. I just need some tips or easy steps to lose it. I would prefer to lose it quickly, like within the next few months before I begin college ( January) but I don't want to be starving myself. CAn someone give me any helpful tips?Answers: walk for around a half hour a day, or jog or something. try to start slowly. i know you want to lose it quickly but if you start out sprinting laps around the track you'll lose interest. i would suggest going to a fitness center where there is an excercise machine so you can perhaps study while exercising. good luck!
Start to walk everywhere, take the stairs, move your body as much as you can. Drink water, no pop/soda, juices or other highly sweetened drinks. EAT fruit and veggies, or drink a V8 but eat healthy whole grains, fruits and veggies, with little meat. You need to watch every gram of fat, sugar, and sodium. You can lose weight, some can loose 5lbs a week and still do that healthy. you don't have to starve yourself. Go to the library and take some good cook books that will help you learn how to eat/prepare foods that will taste great and still not make you gain weight.
As you prepare for college learning how to eat will help you. Find a support person to talk to when you feel weak. the best thing to start doing is excercise. You can do this. For you not for anyone else, but for you.
well im 14 and i weigh 221
go 2 weight watchers ive lost about 30 lbs
its the best choice you can make take my word i wouldnt lie cuz i kno what it feels like im doing so well with weight watchers
if you need any advice my email
sweetdime13@yahoo.com
Sorry, there is no quick fix. If you were looking to lose more than a couple of pounds a week, say 28lbs by the middle of January, you would be putting undue stress on your heart. to the point were the walls of the heart may thin out.
If you want to look better for January, you will need to bust your guts in a gym at least 3 times a week from now until then. You may lose a couple of stone, but more importantly, you will up your metabolism and your muscle definition means you will carry the weight far better than you may now.
Don't try starve or medicate weight off.
hii,
check this site they offer a program so as to lose about 9 lbs. every 11 days, and it really works, i subscribed for this program for about 2 months ago ,and it's for real it helped me alot. Here is the link http://overweight-doc.co.nr ,hope it helps.
I have a lot of tips for you. First of all, try switching from pop to water. Water really helps your body lose weight.
Try exercising at least 60 minutes every day and remember to DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. I emphasize this because water helps to hydrate you and detoxes your body in a sense. Try and gradually cut junk food out of your diet and eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables.
Exercise everyday like jogging around the block
Skip meals. Eat 2 times per day than 3 times per day
Dont eat until you're full
Eat fruits at night if your hungry.
Drinks lots of water and stop all the fast food and chocolate.
There are more tips and info.
there's a video on success fitness too.

Should I diet?
I am 4"11 81 pounds but have a HUGE gut, and im not kidding about that. I also Have HUGE legs.Answers: not diet exactly!! you probably need to cut back on the extra carbos like bread, potatoes, carrots, desserts, sodas etc.
eat more salads! drink more water!!
and mostly do some ab crunches every day. Start a good exercise program. toe touches, ab crunches, things like that. Start with 5 reps per session, twice a day. Add 5 reps after 2 weeks and add 5 more every week after that.
Go walking!! find a friend who needs some exercise, find a granny who needs to get out and walk, find someone who needs their dog walked. a couple of laps around the block to start!!
that will tighten up your tummy and leg muscles.
no.you are underweight there is no way you should diet you could actually gain like 20 more lbs. and still be normal
Metrx big100/protein plus question?
i bought some of these at work because I had coupons and they were on sale. are they good for me to start working out? or are they too much(28-32g protein, ~400 cals)? or should i settle with the basic power bars? Im 5' 11" and around 150 and want to build muscle. I know I could also get protein from chicken, meat or pasta. ThxAnswers: this is personal advice, not medical advice
medical research is, in general, staying far away from questions like that. however, from personal experience, while i am not sure they will help you, met-rx does not have a particularly bad name. if it contains no trans fats, the other ingrediants (including their semi-secret proprietary blend) most likely at least won't hurt you
if you are generally active, they would not be considered too much. if you are not active, the yes, i would say they probably are
good luck with your program
Food plan? I am 15 and I want someone to give me like what times I should eat and how much?
How many times a day (what specific times) and how much? Thanks!Answers: are you looking to lose/gain/or maintain your weight?
you should eat soon after you wake up, because it gives you more time of day to get your metabolism started and for your body to be able to digest the food. studies show that more women who eat a hearty breakfast weigh less than those who don't. this does not mean to eat a whole lotta pancakes and stuff like that. why the studies show this is because if you don't eat much at breakfast, you end up eating too much at lunch, which leaves you not hungry at "snack time" and leaves you strving at dinner time, which also leads to overeating. a good, filling snack would just be a glass of milk. though it sounds light, and it feels that way too at first, wait a while and then you will be full.
I'm 16 And I Have Stretch Marks? Can Somebody Give Me Some Answers?
As You Can See I Have These Amounts of stretch marks since i was like 10, they've faded and still visible, and then i be having these new stretch marks later on till now. right now at 16, they're purple - ish on my buttocks, hips, front and back thighs, and some on my front and back forelegs. Also, some are about to form on my armpits, and it BETTER not go to my biceps, uugh!Does stress make you have stretch marks, cuz i heard stress raises fat, and stretches skin, is that true??
I Know I'm Growing
Answers: the most common reason for stretch marks is you growing too fast for your body.
When i was 11 i grew 7 inches in one year, i got stretch marks on my legs and back from that.
Are you working out alot? Or growing taller/wider? Thats pretty much the only reason for them.
shea's cocoa butter lotion is really good for helping to hide them.
get some cocoa butter lotion and put it on everywhere after you shower after day.
They are not caused by stress but by growing, either from growing taller, gaining muscle or gaining fat.
Make sure your diet is healthy so you are not gaining weight you don't need to be gaining.
Massaging on the stretch marks serves as an excellent home remedy for stretch marks removal. You can either use olive oil, flaxseed oil, vitamin E oil or cod liver oil for the purpose of massage. Check out http://useinfo-stretchmarks.blogspot.com... for more useful info.
I'm 21yrs..108Lbs and 5'3" is that beinf too fat?
Answers: You should put on like 10 lbs, ACTUALLY.
Im 22yrs old, 5'2 and weigh around 130. Im athletic and fit. I love my shape and curves and I wouldnt want to be skinny.
BMI 19.1
Totally normal.
ur BMI is 19.1....
* Underweight = <18.5
* Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
* Overweight = 25-29.9
* Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater
No. :)
You sound like a fine enough weight for your height.
Ummm no, you are even on the small side believe it or not. You should stay right where you are.
That is two pounds more than my sister and she is 5ft. tall. so no i would say your at your weight or slightly under weight.
No, that is regular sized slim.
Muscle weighs more than fat and it's leaner than fat.
So, if you do find yourself weighing much more than what you are right now, but without flabby, sagging, droopy, lumpy, limp, sogging, fat , cellulite and a big stomach than you're fit.
Maybe too skinny. Are you heathly? Can you run around and not pass out from lack of nutrition or too much body fat? Can you see all of your ribs? Or not see your feet because your stomach sticks out to far.? Don't look at the charts all the time and don't weigh yourself every day. Just be healthy.
Can crunches/situps make your stomach look worse?
Yeah I read doing crunches and sit ups can actually make your stomach look worse. Can anyone explain to me how to avoid this?Answers: Proper form would be the only solution that I can think of. I would think that if you had improper form than you may get a pooch on you lower abs, not sure though. If you are doing an exercise targeting the side abs try to feel to make sure those are the abs that are flexing.
Just a novice opinion
This should not happen. These exercises will not directly give you a six pack either.
Good looking midsection is a combination of strength training for the muscles underneath (including rectus abdominis, obliques, transversalis, and the back muscles) as well as taking off the fat laying over it.
In short, you can do hundreds of crunches, but if you have a layer of fat over those muscles, you can't see em...
Diet and exercise combined with a core muscle exercise routine will yield the best results. Try mixing in lower back, oblique, and transversalis exercises with the crunches for balance.

Answers: Note that there are very overweight people and very thin people that both have eating disorders so the weight should not be an issue here. The main thing is your intake of food. Why are you not eating? Are you limiting your food intake because you are worried about gaining weight? Do you see fat when you look int he mirror? Are you over exercising?
You are burning off more calories than you are putting into your body and sooner or later you body will have nothing to burn, but itself. Your organs start turning on themselves and soon eat away and the next thing you know you are hospital bound and possible death.
I suggest you try to work yourself up to eating more than you are and exercising just a little less if you aren't putting in the correct amount of calories or else you are heading down a dangerous path.
This is coming from a forner anorexic for over 15 years. I was killing myself, but I also recovered and so can you. You just have to change your way of thinking. Get rid of the scales. You don't need to be weighing yourself. Once I got rid of my scales I could work towards recover. I also suggest you tell someone. Get counseling.
Your eating habits, or lack there of from the sound of it, are not the only factors to being anorexic. Anorexia is a very serious disease that should not be taken lightly. It can be categorized in many ways including starvation, extreme exercising, intake of laxatives, etc. Your age is a factor in your eating habits, as is your surroundings. People who suffer from this disease find they are unable to lose enough weight, it controls their life and they are convinced they are overweight even when they are severely and dangerously underweight.
I suffered from this disease for many years and have to say I do not believe someone who would ask the question would be. I am by no means an expert, and I think you should really think about eating healthier and more suitable meals. Especially when taking into account that you are athletic. Your body needs more nutrition than you are supplying it with now. Also, as a vegetarian you need to make sure that you are getting the iron and protein your body needs or you will become ill.
If you feel that you need counseling on your eating habits or are concerned that you may have an eating disorder, talk to someone. Your parents, school counselor, friends, teachers, coach, or someone you trust. Take care of your body! It's the only one you'll ever have. Any eating disorder can become deadly, so take care of yourself, and if you feel you need help...get it!
One thing that will help you lose weight: diet pills. I was one of those who did not believe in them until I tried it. And I tried a few. The best product I found on the market is made with pure hoodia and it works great! You can go to
