What would happen if you got a machine atached to u that could make u run constantly even tho you was so tired

you couldnt go on but the machine would force your legs to keep going how would u die
Answers: I remember seeing one of the earlier episodes of Red Dwarf where the computer of the ship made Rimmer jog around until he passed out, and yet he was still jogging lol.

I guess if you pass out the machine does all the work for you. You're not jogging, a machine is just moving your legs for you.
Your body would eventually give up and your heart would stop pumping. You would completely shut down.
The only thing left would be a corpse attached to a machine that keeps moving. Sounds like a horror movie, right?

Does anybody know of a good guide for a 50 year old who is out of shape to start working toward triathlon?

Answers: go easy. do not do too much too soon.
It is going to take a couple of months before you are in shape to train.
It will be 2 years before you are in condition to train effectively.

Work out 3 to 5 times per week for the first month, you can increase that to 5 to 6 times the next month.
You can increase your distance about 25% after the first month and each month after.

Do not do too much too soon, or you will injure yourself.
Stretch twice a day, flexibility is the key to staying healthy.

Abs workout??

I am 15 117 pounds and 5 10

whats a good workout to get a six pack quickly
Answers: Doing cardio is the best for burning the layer of flab off your belly--which is hiding your six pack...Ab exercises will tone and give you definition, but cardio (jogging, aerobics, etc.) is needed in order to be able to visibly see the muscle definition in the ab region! It is very important that you get your body fat percentage down to about 10%. Follow these guidelines:
A.) Do one hour of cardio a day, DAILY...Try a half hour of jogging, and then the other half hour, do kickboxing/Tae Bo.
B.) Train your abs about 4-5 times out of the week. Do exercises that focus on EACH part of your midsection:
-The Upper Abs
-The Lower Abs
-The obliques (side abs)
Check out these two sites that provide great ab exercises...A good idea would be to print out these pages for easy reference:
1.) Awesome Ab/Core workout: http://www.turnstep.com/Patterns/2006/Ma...
2.) 17 Ab Exercises: http://sportsmedicine.about.com/od/besta...

*Additional tips:
Don't foget to eat healthy...Lower your intake of fat, sugar (cut that out if you can), and greasy foods...Eat more veggies, whole grains, and fiber rich foods...Here's a great resource for better eating:

This is what you need to do:

1. Get the diet right
2. Have a training schedule each week (that involves full body)

As far as ab or torso training: (just extra stuff for ya)

1. Squats: this exercise incorporates the torso indirectly, besides the obvious benefit of leg work, it does give the torso a good indirect workout

2. Keep the reps for the abs and torso at 25 or below, and add weight if necessary (the torso and abs are a high endurance muscle, but you dont want to to 100 reps, this is rediculous)

Start out with no weight until you reach the first set of 25 reps. IF on the first set you reach 25R, then add a 2 1/2 lb plate (as an example) on the second set, and then continue, and then do a 3rd. Be progressive. Each time the FIRST set hits 25, add weight.

Types of excercises: Crunch, Reverse crunch. Hanging leg raises, Leg lifts are a few starting examples. Pick one, AND do 3 sets. At the begining I suggest just one exercise of 3 sets, and as you progress you can add in another--just for simplicity sake.

I include weighted half-up sit ups (about 30 degrees up or thereabouts--some dont like these because it involves the hip flexors, but I get good strength volume from it, so see if works for you.

Schedule this about 3 times a week, and treat it as any other muscle. Allow rest time: this example gives about 4 days in one week.

But remember, doing these exercises isnt the the key in getting the abs to show, its the diet that does this. The exercises will strengthen the area no doubt, but place the diet above these exercises. Be PROGRESSIVE in the ab area as you are in your other training.
sit ups, with like 20pund plate on ur chest, but make sure u hold the plate dont just sit it on chest, cuz u gona have hard time breathing. i use to do that i got my results in 2 weeks it started to show...u gona be sor, but do it every other day (not everyday)
do atleast 150 a day... like 30 in morning 30 afternoon... i think u got it just split them up or if u can jusd do 150 ata the time..
it takes a while

Im 14 years old and weigh 120 pounds. Am i fat?

seriously? and its not muscle
Answers: Not if you're over 5'8 or so. If you're 4'11 then maybe you are a little chubby?
Hell no . your not fat .

In my mind , your thin./skinny

:D
depends on height as well as weight.
do you look fat, do you have a tummy sticking out over your jeans?
You dont mention whether you are small medium or large framed and you do not mention your height. One needs that. I am sure though you are not fat. Not not not.
NOOOOO
omg I am 5'6 and 12 years old and I weigh 110
and I am really underweight
You are perfect. If you find yourself obsessing about your weight, go outside and ride your bike, read a book, volunteer at the local hospital.
You are perfect!
It depends on your height. Average weight of 120 pounds for someone of about 5'7."
depends on ow tall u r...but ure still prob not
no it's normal your growing. and you will grow out of it. Your body is still going threw the changes of life.
depends on your height and gender, although I am assuming you are female. A male wouldn't care if he was fat.
It depends how tall you are and whether or not you have begun to menstruate. When females hit puberty, we begin to store more fat in the breasts and in the upper thigh area.

You should consult your doctor if you are worried, or fill out a BMI chart. (Body Mass Index chart) They're available all over the internet.

Best of luck!
Oh heavens no. Look here to make sure we aren't just saying it. http://www.healthchecksystems.com/height...
it has alot to do with how big your bones are also.
hell to the **** no
are you out of ur mind
170 is the average weight
120 is freakin skinny
Depends on your height really and other factors.

If your 120lbs and 3 feet tall, then yes, you would probably be considered fat. If your 120 lbs and 6 foot, then you would be considered skinny.

So, at 14 lets say your 5'2", then no, your not fat.
yes go exercise and lose ten pounds.

What is an ideal weight for a woman who's 5'6" and an average frame size?

Answers: It would technically be 130, but it differs from person to person. More goes into your ideal weight than just your frame size. Your ideal weight is really the weight at which you think you look best. Don't pay too much attention to weight charts.
Depending on your build...
125-140lbs.

Obviously it would be the higher if you have big bone structure.
5ft6, medium frame: 125lb-145lb.

How many calories do u burn doing 1 hour of ballet?

Answers: This website says 320 calories for somebody weighting 140lbs. However the amount will vary greatly depending on your weight and the routine you are doing. If you can get a high-end heart-rate monitor you will be able to get a good estimate.
you burn about 200 calories

Help For Sister and I.?

My sister and want some help with weight loss. We both want to lose some weight. My sisters wants to lose between 1-6 pant sizes. I want to lose one pant size.
We don't want to have to watch everything we eat.
We know it's best to work out for an hour a day, but we right now can only do 30 minutes a day with having a bust schedule and all.
We like to excercise at home, does anyone know any good home excercises to do?
My sister was pregnant and had a little baby puch, can you actually get rid of them and have a flat stomach without surgery? If you can will the skin stay and have to be removed?
This yeah I saw a girl in seventeen magazine who was 216 pounds and lost weight to 115 and she had no extra skin, she says she did this naturally, I don't know what her secret was but my sister needs it.
Currently the excercises we are doing are, sit ups, push ups, stretching, shadowboxing, and marching in place. All feedback helps, thank you everyone in advance.
Answers: Uhmm you cant just exercise. You need to watch what you eat also. You should start running every morning or whenever you can during the day. My friend lost weight doing this.

How do you get taller & skinnier at the same time?

I feel as though I am fat, and I am short; which are two bad combinations.
I would like to take swimming classes, but I can not float
I drink a lot of milk which makes me taller, but there is still sugar in milk.
I am grateful of what nature and God has given me, okay? But I just want to get a little thin and tall.
I am 110 pounds and reduce in the 90's.
Eating less doesn't help as much.
And I can't get a pooch to train with.
Help?
Answers: Hi. Sorry to say this, but i your body won't magically grow taller just because you lose weight. You can lose weight - if you really want, but if you're short.. then work with it. I am tall and i would like to be a bit shorter - but its a waste of energy to worry about that. Seems like we always want what we can't have, right?

Eat a balanced diet of carbs, protein, fat, and sugar. Your body will decide where your normal weight range is. Try not to fight nature - it will work itself out. I know it is difficult, and it seems all the world seems to want to talk about right now is how to be thin, but just try and make peace witht he fact that you can't change the shape of your body.

Everything is good in moderation - so try not to deprive your body of certain food and drink. Dieting is a waste of time, so try to work out a balanced diet =)

Take care
first of all- how old are you?
and keep up with drinking milk-
its really good for you
and if you're like 13, 110 pounds is really light
Milk doesn't make you taller... it just helps the health of your bones as you grow.

However, from you saying that, I'm willing to bet that you're young enough that you're still growing, so if you eat a healthy diet and have a good amount of exercise daily, you should have no problem. As you get older, you'll grow taller and as you mature, your hormones will work to help you develop your body as it should be.

After all, as long as you are at a weight where you are healthy, the most important part is that you are HAPPY with your weight... not that you "should be X pounds", but that no matter what you weigh, you are happy with that instead of striving to be a size 2 or something like that
How tall are you?
im 110 5'6''.
also how old are you.
Everyone can learn to float if they try,
and milk just builds strong bones, height
is based on genetics and athletism.

You'll get taller and lose some of your babyfat.
To get skinnier,
you should take swim team and be VERY competetive, swimming works every muscle in your body, and if you have a good swim coach they can help you lose weight easily.
Also eating less does help, if you combine excersise and workouts with it.

I lost six pounds in two months with my swim team. :]
Sugar in milk isn't what to look for--milk is considered a carbohydrate that your body converts to energy & something to watch like diabetics. I drink 2% which eliminated as much fat as I can stand and still drink it. You grow during sleep, so get your fair share, especially if you're a teen. Lack of sleep and nutrition can alter your fair share of growth. A mix of diet and exercise is what makes your body healthy. For spot reducing, try body wrapping. (Tried to send this direct but couldn't as don't know computers well enough.)

Weightlifting?

What is recommended for building muscle mass? I heard some people say that lifting heavy weights, 4-6 reps is very good for getting strong and bulking up, But others claim that doing medium weights and performing 8-12 reps is better for bulking up?
Answers: 2-3: strength with little size gain

4-5: strength and size gains, but more strength than size

6-8: strength and size gains, almost equally

9-12: strength and size gains, but more size than strength

13-15: size gains, and some muscle endurance gains

16-20: muscle endurance gains, and some size gains.
lower weights higher reps

Can partial-contractions exercise different parts along the length of the same muscle fiber?

Hello,

I'm very interested as to how to bulk up different areas of the same muscle along that muscle's length. For instance with the bicep, I'd like to build up the center of the muscle, halfway between the elbow and the shoulder. Many say that it is only possible to build the WIDTH of the muscle at that location of the bicep. However, I am wondering if it is possible to isolate fibers at different positions along the length of the bicep muscle.

I traditionally thought that if a fiber was contracted, the whole thing was contracted, however, I've been thinking that if resistance is placed so that only the center of the fiber is stressed (say with partial contractions, starting at mid-way through the contraction), wouldn't that still bulk up the center of that fiber?

Thank you very much.
Answers: You are correct when you thought that contraction is an all or nothing action. It is.

Physiologically and from a neaurological level the action potentials when you contract a muscle stimulates all not just a single fiber. As such the "shape" of your muscle is almost entirely dependent on your genetics.

You are also correct when you wrote that you can focus more on width than the shape itself.

Weighing on a scale!?!?

ok so i weigh myself and i turn out to be 105 than i come back
like 2 minutes later and im 110? and then i weigh myself in a different spot and im 113 and then i go back to the other spot and im 110? wth?!? if this happens, then how do i know what i really weigh? and where should i weigh?
Answers: Scales can be inaccurate and even if the weight is correct it can't tell the difference between fat and lean-mass. Most home bodyfat monitors have a high margin for error. The best way to judge your weight is by using a mirror.

: How long does it take for you to get skinny if you stop eating food if you weigh about 144 llbs and you want

: How long does it take for you to get skinny if you stop eating food if you weigh about 144 llbs and you want to be about 110?
please i really would like to know? and please dont write you shouldnt try that or do it, i just need to know how long it takes if you just started it 2 days ago?
Answers: It will take awhile. When I tried starving myself to lose weight, I lost an average of five pounds per week. So if you lost five pounds every seven days it would take you about six weeks. But in that amount of time, you would end up in the hospital, for sure! Six weeks is to long to go with out any food. Maybe you should try eating, then not eating.

The only problem I had with losing weight by starving was I ended up in the hospital on one occasion and that after I got to the weight I wanted to be, I began eating again and gained a lot of weight back plus some, even though I don't eat that much at all.
Losing 30 pounds would take a while...you may die. I see no way to reach your goal on this plan. All you are doing is slowing your metabolism waaaaaay down, and when you start eating again, that weight will return super quick.
