i just came across it and it seems pretty good but does it work and what is 17lbs in Kgs??

thanks??

The GM diet does work but in the end it is necessary, once you have lost the weight, to maintain a sensible diet and carry out exercise regularly. Otherwise the weight will soon return. Best of luck.

How to detox your body?

you know to rid your body of impurities
Answers: I have something that I use - BUT it's too long! Here's excerpt:

"- - - The two major culprits have nothing to do with genes and everything to do with simple body chemistry imbalances. The problem originates in the liver and the lymph. When the liver is overworked and the lymph system becomes stagnant, the plateau occurs. The liver is the major fat-burning organ in the body and the lymph is the major fat-processing system involved in weight loss.
There is a surprising connection between weight loss and the liver. We have a plethora of pollutants and toxic chemicals in our body which must be dealt with before any form of effortless weight loss can be experienced. Biochemistry demands that the liver be kept in tip-top shape or fat metabolism will not occur.
Bile helps the liver break down fats. Bile is synthesized and secreted by the liver and then stored in the gallbladder. Bile cannot do its job if the liver is congested with chemicals, toxins, excess sex hormones, drugs, and/or heavy metals.
If any of these three words show up in the foods you eat, then the liver is sure to become more congested: "partially" or "hydrogenated" or "trans." Avoid margarine at all cost. Avoid the white bread, white pasta, white sugar, white milk, white potato, and white rice in the interim time that the liver is trying to become more wholesome. Go on a "White Out Diet" for at least 7 to 14 days. Eat two lecithin-rich eggs a day and be sure to drink plenty of pure water with a lemon squeezed into it (2 or 3 times a day). Avoid the caffeine drinks (especially tea, coffee, cola, and chocolate). Avoid ibuprofen and the non- steroidal anti-inflammatories; they all tend to congest the liver. - - - -"

What if you could remove impurities from your body, give yourself a renewed sense of energy and improve your overall health by changing the foods you eat for a limited period of time? By going through a detoxification process, you can. Just follow the steps below to detox.

Step One Prepare yourself mentally before you begin the detoxification process. A detox isn't easy--you have to stop eating foods and drinking beverages that you may love. You must be prepared to resist any temptations and stick to your detox plans.

Step Two Eliminate or reduce the toxins that you introduce into your body. Stop smoking, drinking alcohol or taking drugs and remove any caffeinated foods or beverages from your diet, including chocolate, coffee and soft drinks. Avoid eating high-fat or highly processed foods and refined flour products, too.

Step Three Remember to avoid the toxins used outside of your body as well. For example, don't breathe the fumes of harsh household cleansers, lawn and garden fertilizers or other chemicals.

Step Four Eat a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables and only eat whole grain products. Organic food is an excellent choice. You want your diet to consist of foods with few, if any, additives or preservatives.

Step Five Drink a lot of water. You should drink at least eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day. Water will not only hydrate you, but will also help flush impurities out of your system.

Step Six Be willing to take things slowly, if necessary. Making such drastic changes to your diet can be extremely difficult. If you find it to be too overwhelming, focus on removing only one or two things before moving on to another.

5'7 and 171?

how much weight should i lose to be healthy?
Answers: For 5'7 height women, weight should only be from 122 lbs to 149 lbs.
40 lbs should be right.

Edit: Who keeps giving thumbs down? 120 - 140 is THE RIGHT healthy weight for a girl your height. Listen, you can weight whatever you want, and as long as you're happy that's fine. But the healthy weight is what most of us are telling you.

Unless you are into bodybuilding, then you can weight more as much of the weight is muscle...but I don't think you are.
technically if you can still move and function normally you are considered healthy and besides us guys like the whole more cushion for the pushin thing >.<

for small frame: 123-136

Medium frame: 133-147

large frame: 143-163
Now calculate your frame size:
Calculating Your Frame Size

Following is the method the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company used to calculate frame size:

1. Extend your arm in front of your body bending your elbow at a ninety degree angle to your body so that your forearm is parallel to your body.
2. Keep your fingers straight and turn the inside of your wrist towards your body.
3. Place your thumb and index finger on the two prominent bones on either side of your elbow, then measure the distance between the bones with a tape measure or calipers.
4. Compare to the chart below. The chart lists elbow measurements for a medium frame - if your elbow measurement for that particular height is less than the number of inches listed, you are a small frame - if your elbow measurement for that particular height is more than the number of inches listed, your are a large frame.

Elbow Measurements for Medium Frame

5'4" - 5'7" ..................... 2-5/8" to 2-7/8" ( for man)

5'4" - 5'7" ..................... 2-3/8" to 2-5/8" ( for women)

What do you think of my new workout schedule?

I work midnights...so that's where it gets confusing....

9:30 pm wake up
9:30 - 10:00 - 30 minutes cardio
10:00 - 10:15 breakfast (meal 1)
10:15 - 11:00 catch up on news, shower, etc
2:00 - snack (meal 2)
4:00 - lunch (meal 3)
6:30 -snack (meal 4)
9:00 - weight train (tuesday:arms, thursday:legs, friday:chest,back)
10:00 - dinner (meal 5)
12:00 - snack (meal 6)

What do you think? Sounds good? My goal is to cut 10 lbs in 3 months.
Answers: Sounds good, but you might better eat in the morning, before cardio, your bloodsugar might drop, drinks lots of water. Good Luck
ur goal is to cut 10lbs then why u r going for split diets like 6 meals per day, u do more aerobics with some weight training,
ur workout plan is for hard gainers 3 times a week, u go for 5 times a week and try to exercise all parts
more over ur plan doent involve "abdomen" work outs which is very important for perfect shape so u do 5 sets for it dailly
with some 15 reps... dont go for high calorie diet because u mission is to cut weight not gain weight remember it ...
Ur plan is good but if ur focussing on losing weight then wat is it that ur eating that matters. ur lunch wat it consists of ? Fruits? and then in dinner wat is it that u eat? if ur loading urself up on Carbs in ur dinner no good coz u'd be resting. For ur schedule u need carbs in ur lunch and breakfast. Snacks wat r ur snacks? heavy loaded fat stuff? or minimal ?

U know u want to retain ur muscle then u need protein so after ur workout have good amount of protein and water is a must to fill u up.

Whichever time u follow the thing u shud do is c when ur exerting more and relaxing. When u relax carbs will make u bloat and when ur working u need energy which carbs will provide along with protein so u need to balance them. Wat about salad?

I just looked at ur diet in terms of day time and it's just the reversal of natures true being lol ur night is day for u and vice versa so it's all ok.

Do you think its gone a bit too far?

I loged on to collect my mail to read an article on parnets possibily getting warnings for overweight children. Now nothing makes me sicker than an obese child stuffing its face in Mc Donalds but its almost as if its going a bit too far...In 10 yrs time will we be fined if we are over weight, too high a cholestrol or salt levels? Maybe its my creative mind going off on one but it slightly worries me...
Answers: Think about these 'warnings' practically...

They'll probably be paper, wasting trees.
They'll take up government time and attention from serious issues.
Many people won't give a flip.
And it'll cost the government/taxpayers alot of money.

I agree it has gone to far-we hear about obesity, and then anorexia! These issues need help, but i believe that the real focus should be elsewhere, like the NHS or Police Service.

Of course, the government can't really spin a good 'initiative' out of those, so it picks something else that is-in my opinion-less important.

Good question
XxX
I know what u mean but it is unfair to see kids being fed mc donalds & kfc for thir sunday roast. We are having our decisions taken out of our hands. Imagine I would be aloud to eat junk food as i'm slim & fit but other people would not be able to just coz the goverment says so or they'll be denied nhs?

I'm thinking if I can have a *** when I want one neather should the fat person eating junk food! I'm crule but we wont be able to do anything bad including driving over the speed limit & such like things!!?
No, I think the proposal is for the child's weight and measurements (which schools already take now anyway, but results of which are only given to parents on request) to automatically be given to the parents along with assessments.

It's the same as going to the doctor's for checkups when your child's a baby. It's not a legal warning, but a statement that if your child is obese and you do nothing about it, then their health could be put at risk. It's giving parents and guardians the information (or information in such a way that's not easy to ignore) about their child's health so that they can do what's best about it.

If your children's school finds out that your child has a condition that, if left untreated and lifestyle unchanged, could endanger their lives, wouldn't you want to be told about it?

***
As with a lot of things in the media, I think this is very much a case of something being blown up beyond proportions and hyped up to an extent where people (as well meaning as they may be) jump the guns and think that the government is trying to con people into something. Take a deep breath and think about things through.
i think its just to make parents think about what they're feeding their kids, because parents feed their kids junk food coz its easy, they are to lazy to feed their kids the right stuff, or they give them sweets, chocolate etc.. to shut them up, coz they can't be bothered to listen to them wingeing.
So maybe if the parents are worried about getting a fine they will spend more time thining about whats best to feed there kids. Coz lets face it if we carry on the way we are in 20 years times we're all gunna be like weebles wobbling down the roads. xx
No, I think that people should be trying far harder to stop what is one of the greatest threats to man kind going. If something isn't done about the obese they will live miserable, short lives and be a huge burden on society. It would be the ultimate irony that the human race simply ate itself to death.
what about all the other health problems in the world?
No I don't think it has gone too far.

I'm a nurse and I see the negative effects of peoples lifestyles every single day. People in this society are killing themselves slowly with poor lifestyles, smoking, eating crap, no excercise, drinking too much, etc etc. This is leading to vast levels of obesity, heart disease, cancers, diabetes, etc. I'd say about 95% of the stuff I see in the hospital (excluding accidents and RTA's and stuff) are either directly caused by lifestyle, or negatively affected by it.

Noone is going to change overnight, and it's about time measure were brought in to curb bad lifestyles. This smoking ban for example, or the passing of the law which will ban trans fats (government are trying to pass it through now), I would personally go further and make it illegal for people (usually chavs) to feed children a diet of McDonalds! Even the NHS is getting sick of it now and are refusing to operate on obese people, which I am all for. (and before all you fatties kick off about this, most of the problems that need surgery are caused by your bad lifestyles, i.e. YOUR FAULT, and obesity severely hampers any chance of a decent recovery and increases the risk of further surgery, so why shouldn't we say go and lose the weight first, then we'll help you?)

Maybe if these measures were brought in 20 or 30 years ago there wouldn't be such a problem now.

How to lose weight effectively??

Answers: The best way to lose weight is a combination of eating healthy food and being more physically active. Choose activities that you enjoy, which are practical and easy for you to include as part of your lifestyle. Remember that to lose a pound of weight a week you must create a 3500 calorie deficit, or burn 500 calories per day more than you eat.
You need to do a lot of exercise to accelerate your metabolism. It's better if you do cardiovascular exercise, because this kind of exercise helps you burn fat...

You should begin with a good eating plan, combining fats and sweets with fruits and vegetables. It will be better if you drink at least eight glasses of water daily to control your calories and your cholesterol.

If you want you can use some pills to control your weight and to accelerate the process of burning fat.

I know some pills which you can use to reduce your weight. Those pills are Xenical and Hoodia. Their results are excellent and fast.

Is it possible to lose at least 10lbs in a week?

It can be done, depending on how much body fat you currently have, and how much time you have.

(1) You can lose 10lb by: (i) not eating and exercising rigorously, but then you will be losing lean muscle mass and fluids more than anything.

(2) If you wanna lose fat as opposed to lean muscle mass, 10lb is very, very difficult in one week. You'd have to spend 4-5 hours a day exercising to lose it so quickly. But if you did have 30 hours devoted to exercise, I would recommend rigorous bike riding for 3 hours per day. Then run/walk for another 1 hour. But this is way too much for someone who's unfit. Besides, you don't have that time anyway. PLUS, you'd have to eat less food, eradicate junk (i.e. McDonalds, KrispyKreams from you diet) AND you'd have to start eating stuff like pasta, rice, chicken breast, and normal vegetables.

In the end, it can't be done in everyday life. But as a moot point, it technically can be done.
yes possible but not healthy to you if you really want to lose your weight, don't worry.exercise daily with some hard workouts ,drink fresh jucies.if you want more details view the website

I'm doing a diet program. i had a chemical diet program for one day and i gained weight !?

i did a diet for a week and i lost about 6 pounds, then i had a day that i ate only fruits in it, in the next day i went through the caloric diet that i was doing, then i was shocked when i got on the scale and found my weight increased 1 pound over.
what is wrong with what i did ?
Answers: What is wrong with what you did? Absolutely nothing. Let me explain:

One pound is half a kilo. If you go to the toilet you'd be 1-2 pounds lighter. If you drank a pint you'd be 1 pound heavier. Plus, it could also depend on the caliberation of your scale.

What I am saying is that 1 pound is nothing. It is HIGHLY UNLIKELY (i.e. 99.99999% unlikely) that you put on 1 pound in one day, especially with your fruit only diet. It was probably water weight.

Anyways, if you put on 10 pounds in one day, then THAT"S cause for concern.

Hope this helps.
If it was only one pound it was probably just normal body flucuations. Or maybe you were using a different scale or maybe your clothes were heavier............?

Answers: jogging is the best way to reduce weight..

at home, workouts are really effective..

if you know swimming, you can burn ur calories that way too..

have a well balanced diet..

avoid high calorie foods like potato chips, bakery items, cheese, butter, non-veg items etc etc..

make a list of low calorie items and eat them alone..

many will disagree on this or will find this difficult.. but it is very effective.. you need to skip your lunch! but you can have fruits or vegetables in the afternoon.. nevertheless u can have a nice yummy dinner..within a week you ll lose 5 kg!..i am sure about it.. try it but you need will power..

good luck for your presentation & take care..
don't eat a lot of carborhydrate like bread, rice, biscuits and chips...... (some may do) and in meals you eat more fishes, vegetables and meat (not the fat part) and fruits don't eat pineapples and mangoes (they make you very fat but the others it is Ok). And do some exercise continuesly (but not to much because it may hurt your health). And don't skip meals it is not the proper way to reduce fat.

And the most important thing is to have patience.....
Good luck! May you be slim in no time....
And you may not be thin so fast!
eat high fiber foods like whole-wheat bread, brown rice, fruits and vegetables becaue they make you feel full a lot faster since these foods absorb water, thus expanding in your stomach which in turn make you full with just a small amount of food .
avoid eating fastfoods, low-fiber foods, get enough sleep, don't stress yourself out, don't starve yourself and always keep moving.

Good luck!

Is 7 pounds an ok amount of weight to lose over 2 weeks if you want to get rid of it quite quickly?

Answers: Yup its ok.. But see to it that you don't enter into the phase of super compensation after 2 weeks..that's more important..

well, crash diets tend to make you gain all the weight again which is so annoying, i am 10stone 5'6 so healthy weight but i want to loose about 7lbs to be about 9stone 6 and its prooving really hard, i have tried beyonces lemonade diet for about 8 days almost died from cravings but it did work i got down to about 9stone 9 but not my goal as of yet, however if i had stuck with it for the 14 days i would of reached it, im contemplating going back on it however its just so hard and i would like an easier EATING option, WHATs ur method of loosing the weight cos i might do it with you!
however these diets as soon as u finish u will gain it all back again, which is a shame but hay hoo...its the world we live in today!
Yes, but over those two weeks it will mainly be fluids that you lose and you'll put it back on as soon as you stop! ! !
7 pounds is too much to lose in a healthy way. To do this you need to be on a crash diet and this is bad for your system. 2 pound a week is an ideal amount and then your body can cope with the lower calorie intake. You will not have sagging skin as the skin will shrink with the weight loss. Eat less junk and make up for it with fresh fruit, veg etc. Also you must exercise. Do it this way and the weight will stay off as long as you do not slip back into bad eating habits. Best of luck.
I bet you didn't put the 7lbs on in a fortnight. Perhaps it crept on slowly and you didn't notice. If you treat the loss of the weight the same way, your body/brain won't notice and feel so deprived, so you have a better chance of keeping the weight off. Anyone can lose weight quickly by drastic means, but it tends to be counter-productive.

It also depends how much you have to lose altogether. If you're only trying to shift a little bit, it'll be harder. If you're trying to drop a lot of weight, a couple of pounds a week is still ok - every little helps. Good luck!

BMI of 17.2- unhealthy?

is a bmi of 17.2 really all that unhealthy? i'm aiming for 110 pounds and i'm 5'7 and that would be my BMI. it's "underweight" but is it really that unhealthy and/or dangerous?
Answers: It is an unrealistically low weight for your height.
Whether it is dangerous or not depends on how much you have to diet to attain that weight.
Some people are underweight despite eating plenty, but they are not at risk because their diet provides them with all the calories they need to maintain general health.
If you have to diet severely to get to a low weight you may not only run short of vitamins and minerals, but if your calorie intake is very low your body could start to feed of its muscles including your heart muscle and you could be at risk of a heart attack or heart failure.
:O it's unhealthy and dangerous. It could mean that you are malnourished, and that could make you sick. you could develop:
Respiratory disease
Digestive disease
Cancer
Osteoporosis (Increased risk of falls and fractures)
For your height, the ideal weight would probably be between 130 pounds and 155 pounds.
