i don't eat meat (or VERY little), im trying to workout more, i cut back my eating (i haven't eaten sweets in a month but i have the OCCASINAL couple chips or whatever) any tips on what else i can do? any exercizes i can do?Answers: You could get a lemonade diet. Lemon with a lot of salt without sugar!
Drink ONLY LEMONADE every day for 2 weeks. Chewing gum might help you not eat anything. You will be a lot healthier too. Beyonce tried this diet and lost 20 Lb.
lift weights ( don't lift really heavy about 10-15 lbs.)
NO junk food
sit-ups
push-ups
hope that i help! :D
The best option is to eat healthy food and exercise regularly. Unfortunately it can take a while to see the results but it is the best choice. It is a diet you can maintain for the rest of your life with no bad side affects.
You should probably discuss it with your GP tho, you are young and you are still growing. You don't want to damage your body with silly fast track diets.
Losing weight is easier for some than it is for others, that's just the way it is. That's not a reason, however, to give up hope if the scale is not always tilting the way you want it to. Below are some advice on how to maximize weight loss.
Step One Click to enlargeGet pumped!
The most important thing you will ever need when trying to lose weight is motivation. Set up goals, realistic goals. Don't tell yourself you want to lose 20 lbs in one month, because that's darn near impossible. Keep your goal of losing 20 pounds, but spread it out over 6 to 8 weeks instead. Losing 2.5 pounds per week is more doable than 5 pounds per week. You might be able to lose 5 pounds in each of the first two weeks, but after that it is going to get tough and you don't want to jeopardize your motivation by not meeting your goals.
Step Two Click to enlargeGo with the salad
Your diet is the second most important thing when losing weight. Eating right will not only make you lose weight, but it can also make you feel more energized, which will make it a lot easier to get up and go to the gym.
Step Three Click to enlargeYour dinner plate should not look like this, even if it is sushi
With all the weight loss shows and magazine columns these days it has almost become common knowledge that eating several smaller meals is better for weight control than three big ones. But just in case you missed it, or don't know why this is better, I'll go over it here briefly.
When you eat five or six smaller meals a day you keep your metabolism going throughout the day and that means calories are being used up!
Step Four Click to enlargeSnack away, but keep it healthy
One thing that people often get wrong when going on a weight loss diet is that they cut out too much calories from their diet. An excess of calories will mess up your weight loss plans, but a shortage of calories is not good either. You need to find a perfect balance.
When you lower your calorie intake you also slow down your metabolism, which leads the body to start conserving fat for fuel. If you keep this up long enough your body will eventually begin to break down muscle tissue for fuel due to lack of other resources, and then you're really doing a lot more damage than good.
Step Five Click to enlargeThese things are called fruits, they taste good AND they're healthy
Muscles need calories just to maintain, and if you want to gain more muscle mass you need even more calories. It is fat that you need to cut out of your diet. Eat more lean cuts of meat, or switch to chicken (not fried chicken!) or fish, this will cut out unnecessary fats in your diet. Sugar is also your enemy now, so stop eating candy and other sweets during the day and drink water instead of soda. Fruit and nuts are great snacks to munch on between breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Step Six Click to enlargeNuts will help you eat smaller meals
If you feel you're still eating too much food, but need it just to be able to function normally, eat some peanuts or cashews 30 minutes before your meal. Nuts sends a trigger to your brain telling your stomach that it is not hungry anymore and therefore it will feel like you don't have enough room in your belly for a big portion of food.
Step SevenAnother key player in maximizing weight loss is exercise. That does not have to mean going to the gym. Some people don't like going to the gym for various legit reasons, but that doesn't mean they still can't exercise.
A few suggestions on alternative exercise regimes are taking up a martial arts class, a dance class (but make sure it's high energy dancing, such as samba, salsa, African dance or hip hop), swimming, playing tennis or running up and down bleachers or stairs.
The key is to move around a lot, work up a sweat and make your heart race a little faster than usual. Also, whatever you decide to do, you have to commit to it and not put up a half-hearted effort.
Step Eight Click to enlargeLower weights, more reps
If you like going to the gym you should adapt your workout to maximize weight loss, which means not adding too much muscle mass, unless that's weight you welcome. This means doing more cardio workouts than lifting heavy weights. In fact, when you lift free weights, use lighter weights so you can do around 12 to 15 reps for three sets. This builds muscle endurance more than muscle mass. Cut down on resting between exercises to keep the burn going, it will also get you out of the gym faster.
Step Nine Click to enlargeSweat it out
After a workout you can also slip into a sauna for a while to sweat out some weight. However, you will only lose water weight by doing this, but if it helps reaching your weekly goal and keeping your motivation up, go for it.
Overall Tips & Warnings
To be able to maintain your motivation when trying to lose weight, find a partner that you can do it together with. You will be able to feed off of each others energy and if one of you is having an off day, the other one can get you back on track.
If you have a sweet tooth and start feeling the urge for sweets, try eating fruits instead. One of the main reasons many people eat candy bars instead of fruits is advertising.
How often do you see a candy bar commercial or ad? How often do you see a farmer on TV telling you to buy his strawberries? See what I'm saying? This means when your brain says "I want sweets!" The first thing that pops into your mind is probably candy. Change that.
Don't drive your car everywhere you go. Take a walk or ride a bike for some bonus exercise.
Get plenty of rest. If you are working out hard you will need plenty of sleep.
Don't weigh yourself every day. Weight loss doesn't always happen over night. Step on the scale every two or three days just to make sure you're heading in the right direction.
If you hit a wall before you reach your goal and can't lose more weight, regroup and change up your tactics and don't just give up.
Never skip out on meals just to lose weight, it does more harm than good in the long run.
Eat smaller portions on food, but don't starve yourself. I recommend trying out the Asian diet. I lost weight slowly ,but so far I've been able to keep it off for a really long while now. And it's alot healthier than any diet I ever had.Just look at the their food pyramid in my source. And then look at the bottom one of Americans food pyramid. It doesn't mean you have to eat Asian food. IT just show you how much of servings you should have. And what to eat on daily basis and things to eat once in while. Hope it helps good luck !
I am a 14 YEAR OLD GIRL what are the PROS and CONS of me DRINKING 10 CUPS of WATER a DAY?
Answers: Pros, you will be well hydrated, something most of the population is not. There are a lot of benefits to this especially if you are an active person. Your body runs much better when it is fully hydrated. You will tend to feel more awake as well.
Cons, Until your body adjusts for the added water intake you will be peeing like it is your job. Also, if you drink to much water and do not balance it with minerals you can dilute them down and it can be life threatening, 10 cups over the course of a day you are safe. A slight con, you will weigh more since you have more fluid in you, water is heavy. But it isn't added body fat, it is just water, you won't physically be any bigger.
It looks like a lot of CONS but the PROS are more important.
pros: drinking lots of water helps transport your nutrients to your muscles, and it's needed to get rid of waste in the body, it also has minerals, and it helps regulate body temperature.
cons: you will go to the restroom ALL DAY!!
Im 27 years old, 5'6, & 153 pounds I want to weight 140 is that possible in one month?
I take herbal diet pills also for the max. weight loss and cutting down to small portion meals, and I run for one hour each day. Is it possible to weight 140 by November 24,2007? Serious answer pleaseAnswers: 13 pounds in one month? First off, I want to thank you for having a realistic goal. Most people say they want 13 pounds gone in a week! It is doable for some people, but if it's too much, then dont force your body to lose the weight.
of course its possible, and nice plan, i think you should also include weight training in your routine for better and quicker results, just simple weight taining, like maybe doing about 2 sets of 20 push ups and squats per day, dont start off with weights just your your body weight for the first month before getting advanced try doing this before you do your run
1. push ups 15, or to failure
2. squats 10
3. pull ups about 5 or as many as you can do, but no more than 5
4. lunges do 15 lunges in place
5. dips only 5 or as many as you can do, no more than 5
6. step ups, find a bench or box thats a foot and a half to 2 feet high, do about 10
7. and sit ups, but come up only half way about 45 degreesesof the floor but take 3-4 seconds coming up and then 3-4 seconds going down
8. repeat steps 1-7 starting from push ups just one more time
this is only a begining phase to help burn more calories, later on (after about a month) add more reps if you like ( dont worry you wont get buff unless your taking steriods)
Eating disorder or not? my friend skips meals and when she does eat she eats very small portions.?
Lately she has been trying to eat those small portions about 2 times a day. She is convinced that this is normal and healthy and while I agree that 2 meals a day is a start, I still think that she has an eating disorder. She tries to convince me that she doesn't? what do u think?Answers: If she is doing this for speedy, unhealthy weight loss, then she probably has an eating disorder. Dont be fooled, I dont eat a lot when I'm in front of people, but I eat a good amount at home. She might do the same thing.
well not yet ut she may be in the early stages of developing an eating disorder
tell her that if she wants to loose weight to eat when your hungry just healthy foods 3 square meals a day [ ] eating very little causes you to gain weight when you actually eat something because the lost protein and energy that she skipped now needs to be taken in from fat so not eating really doesnt help

Why do i feel sick every night?
I know I'm not pregnant and I only feel sick at night and it starts around 6 everynight. I eat but i'm always hungry afterwards, but i'm not gaining any weight. I'm 5'2 and 125lbs and I get these really bad head aches.Answers: Diet and nutrition!! Look up Joel Fuhrman. He has great nutritional advice and I know headaches are under the topics. If you cant find anything on headaches, email me. I'd be happy to direct you.
Am I anorexic?
I checked my BMI in the internet and it said that i was underweight. I am 5 "2 and i weight 92 pounds and I am 14 yrs old. I eat 3 times a day and i eat in between meals, i do exercise because I play golf, and also i am anemic(if that has to do with anything). People are wondering how is it possible for this thin girl to be eating and not get fat.Answers: You have a fast metabolism and your young. BMI calculators are meant for adults, so they're not accurate for you. You will probably continue to grow. As long as your eating enough you're fine. Anemia does effect how much you weigh so as long as you have that under control you should be fine. Try building muscle tone if you want to weigh more. It will make you look good and feel strong.
dont worry that just like me, i eat 3 times a day to and i love to eat snacks!! my friend is kinda anorexic so i never skip a meal NEVER! ICANT LIVE WITHOUT EATING A MEAL! :) we are both almost underweight, but i dont think thats really our fault, and when i started highschool i started having a health class and realized i should eat healthier, so i drank water, no juice or soda, and ate a lot of fruits, and i lost weight.... i didnt mean too!! opps :) SO DONT WORRY UR NOT ALONE!!
Will you lose weight walking 3 miles every single day?
Answers: If your caloric intake stays the same, the calories you burn while walking will cause you to lose weight. There are 9 calories in a gram of fat so if you know how many calories you burn you can calculate how much you will lose but the key is making sure your calorie intake stays the same or decreases. Otherwise, you will negate the calories burned during walking.

Like so bad that I can't help but walke really slow. And it's not that I'm embarassed to be last, my coach walks behind us and if she passes us up, we get like 15 pts. off! My grade can't afford to take that hit everyday! Please, if ya'l have any tips please tell me! Exercise and eat healthy. Run at home. Cut the fats.........
If you can, definitely join the gym. Stretch, do anything that gets your heart going!
~ Ash
First of all, your overweight problem comes from your eating habits. You will need to change most of the junk food out of your diet and substitute it for fruit and fresh vegetables. You can eat all of the fresh(not canned) fruit that you can. Although the fruit is sweet it is good for you and non fattening. Try to cut the fats back in your diet. Fats will be either fried (greasy and flour) foods or sweet with sugar. When you do this, you will see your weight start to drop a great deal.
Your legs hurt because you are over weight and your legs are not use to that type of pounding. Try running on the side of the track in the grass, this will take some of the pressure off your legs. You should also make sure that you properly stretch your legs before any exercise program and you this will make your running and walking better. If you have any cramps in your stomach area on the right side of your body, you do not have enough water in your body. If you cramp on the left side, you ate to much food and to soon before exercising. You should try not to eat at lease 1 1/2 hour before exercising.
If your legs are hurting just around your calves but in the front part, this is called shin splints. Remedy- an anti-swelling medication such as motrin. Ask your parents before taking any medication. The muscles in the front part of your legs are seperating thus causing you pain. If the pain is in your knees this is because of your weight and the constant pounding is causing you pain. It is making the joints in your knees rub against each other causing you pain. Remedy- leg extensions with your toes pointed inward. This will cause the outter muscles in your legs to become stronger and lift the joints apart.

Will a 24hr fast with no water damage my health?
I'm planning on doing a 24hr fast with no water or liduids for charity in about a week and I was just wondering before hand whether the fast would have any effect on my health. If I do find out it is exteremly dangerous I suppose I'll have to do something less dramatic and hope it raises the same amout of money.Answers: Probably not, but you never know. What kind of charity is this?? You atleast need to drink water. Thats crazy for you not too.
You would prob be OK... but water, fluid, is important.
We can go without food for ages.. body lives off fat reserves. Yes, even in slim people.
I think you should do it, but allow yourself to drink, but only water. Would still be a good effort.
If you asked me to donate money and told me you werent going to drink water or eat anything, i wouldnt give you anything, but rather say this... "you are an idiot" What on earth would you gain from it??
How about you fast for 48 hours and eat only barley sugar, and of course (are you nuts!) drink water. There is a very popular yearly charity in australia called the 48 hour famine, and it helps normal ppl see what its like to go without food, and many many ppl have made so much money for the charity. One year i made $500, and it felt great to help, but, hell! i still drank water! To not drink water would be the stupidist thing in the world. Think about it.
The three rule applies.....
3 minutes without air
3 days without water
3 weeks without food.
However would suggest you see your gp before embarking on this event.......
I wouldn't go without water. You have to flush toxins out of your body somehow, and without water, no flushing.
Plus your pee will be dark and smelly...no one wants that.
The best person to ask about this would be a Dr or somebody like that. I did quite a few sponsored fasts when I was younger but it was always 24 hours without food, not without water too. No tea, juice, coke, things like that but we were still allowd water. Infact we were advised to drink it. Also, I have been known to pass out when I forgot to drink anything for a whole day even though I was eating so I don't think it can be good for you.
What excerise equipment is best the gazelle air walker, rowing machine or stepper?
i want to tone everything and strenghten my core muscles and back. and lose weight off my butt.Answers: When used properly, the rowing machine is the most complete and effective machine for all of those things. Rowers have excellent backs, even better butts, and just about everything else. It is, however a hard machine to master, and you should probably ask someone at the gym to start you off to make sure you don't strain anything by exercising improperly.
The best one, is the one that you'll enjoy the most. The one you like, will be the one that you continue to use, without getting bored. Trust me...I've got every piece of equipment you've listed and only use my treadmill, because I don't become bored of it.
The key to losing weight is consistent, regular exercise...the machine doesn't always make that much of a difference.
the gazelle i have tryed everysingle one and thats the only one that worked instantly...
My brother has smoked marijuana for over 15 years , how long will it take to leave his system?
Yes he has quit! (for now at least), he applied for a job yesterday and will have his drug test next week. Besides drinking alot of water, cranberry juice, orange juice, etc... and quick flushes purchased at GNC ... What is the quickest way to flush it out naturally for a urine drug test. ?Marijuana is the only "drug" he has ever done.
Answers: Marijuana has a really low water solubility so drinking a lot of fluids will not flush it out a whole lot quicker. It also has a chemical life of about 5 to 8 days which is when it will actually break down and not be present in the body any longer.
no matter what u do u r goin to still have it in ur system the whole flush it out thing doesnt work u really better hope they dont do a hair test cuz that stays with u for 7 years in ur hair
well try totake the test anyway
I believe it's stored in fat cells so the heavier he is, the longer it will take. But I think it's 4-6 weeks to be gone from his system. It can be detected in hair also, over the long term.
