Diet Fitness Questions and Answers
I have this diet im on and was wondering...?
ok so i have it planned so i burn 880 a day (including calories from just living and taking away the food i eat). i was wondering if it would be ok if i ate maybe 1 treat a day, and then did more excercice to cancel it out? would that be ok lolAnswers: Are you saying your CALORIE DEFICIT is 880 calories/day? If so:
Yes. When I am cutting calories, I eat chocolate (snack-size candy bar or 90 calorie chocolate chip granola bar) or a piece of hard candy every day. Still keep it low calorie, though, as you don't want to "eat into" those calories you've already burned off. If you mean a MAJOR treat, like a piece of cake, alcohol or something, stick to one treat on a weekend.
I am starting 30 days banana diet. and water.?
how much can i lose if i only eat bananas and water and excersice for 2 hours a day. i am trying to lose 60 lbs until december.Answers: there is a fruitarian diet.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fruitariani...
see what you think.
That is very unhealthy.
You need protein too.
And other fruits and vegis.
It could mess up your metabolism, I wouldn't do it.
See a nutritionist.
You would lose a lot of weight initially, but eventually you will get sick of bananas, stop losing weight, and will become sick because you aren't getting all the nutrients you need. If you insist on doing this, talk to your doctor before you do it, so they can give you advice on some vitamins and supplements to take so taht you get all the nutrients you need.
Also trying to lose 60 pounds in 2 months is impossible if you want to be healthy. Set a lower goal that you can reach so that you won't get sidetracked, when you're not reaching your goal, because even with this kind of diet, you won't reach your goal.
Best of luck.
I can tell you that you will get very ill trying this so-called diet.
If you really want to lose weight, try Weight Watchers.
If you really cant bare to go to WW, eat 5 to 6 times a day. Have protien with your breakfast, eat smaller meals, use low fat dairy, whole grain pastas and cereals, leaner meats and completely cut out junk, fast and fried foods as well as soda.
Get 30 minutes of exercise a day. One day take a brisk walk, the next swim doing laps, then go to a gym ... then walk the next day.
A safe and effective goal is 2 pounds per week.
Diets such as this not so brilliant idea, and diet pills do NOT work. They only make you ill and your weight loss will NOT be successful.
Starving yourself or restricting food isnt the way to go about weight loss - especially if you want to achieve HEALTHY and SUSTAINABLE weight loss. Just eat a balanced diet, healthy foods (dont deprive yourself of 'treats' totally, just everything in moderation) and incorporate extra activity into your day. Basically if your energy out is outweighing your energy in, then you'll lose weight. You dont need to go to the extreme and survive on bananas and water. Your body won't reward you in the long run, and you'll regret it. If you eat like this - not only will you get insanely bored, you will not be giving your body the necessary nutrients to survive or perform properly during exercise.
I think you should do a bit of research about sports nutrition if you intend to exercise lots. Also, I dont think you should shoot for 2 hours every day - I did this and my body did NOT reward me, and now I'm in a huge pickle (involving loads of medical bills....). Give your body a day or two to rest each week, and just do a light walk or some nice leisurely activity on those days.
Oh - back to nutrition - reeeally I can't stress enough that you research eating for exercise, as you need to fuel your body with the right types of food. Weight loss is achievable without restrictive eating patterns (which only lead to bingeing behaviour and your weight will fluctuate your whole life - try to achieve a healthy weight and healthy lifestyle that can be maintained!).
Check out the australian institute of sport website - great articles on weight loss and sports nutrition, as well as great recipes that are healthy and complete with nutritional info so you can watch ur kilojoule/calorie intake, fats, sugars, carbs, protein etc.
Make sure you eat before exercise (give at least 30 mins for digestion though) to fuel yourself properly so you can get the most from your exercise, and also you MUST eat within half an hour of finishing exercise to replenish energy and repair muscle. Before exercise go for something low gi to give you a longer burst of energy (if you workout in the morning like me then cereal and fruit is good), and after exercise you need something high GI (like a white bread sandwich with a spread or something - peanut butter is good for protein but not so good for weight loss....try lean meat and salad....or a fruit smoothie with low fat yoghurt).
Really - get yourself informed about how to lose weight in a healthy way. Strive for making healthy changes that you can sustain for life - a balanced life. Dont do anything dangerous or harmful to your body.
to lose weight, starving yourself is not the answer.. eat 2 cups of fruit a day, 3 cups of vegetables, or try a salad w/o dressing. Maybe you don't really need that at all.. look at your diet.. let's say you have some pizza.. instead of ordering it from Domino's get some yeast and a recipe and make your own.. Watch the ingredients in the food you eat. If you shop at a normal grocery store like Albertson's/Von's, try shopping at Sprouts, Lassen's, Whole Foods, and Trader Joes.
Now that you're eating healthier, don't eat too much.. 2 meals a day, sometimes lunch if you choose and make a very healthy, hearty dinner.
By fasting, you are not helping your body.. infact, you are hurting it. Your body needs vitamins and minerals to survive and not just a banana and some water. By doing that, your immune system will not be as strong, and you will become sick. This will not help you at all. Go to the gym daily and avoid processed foods. If you are eating foods that have ingredients that you can not read.. put it right back on the shelf. look into the ingredients and find out what they do to you. AVOID: High Fructose Corn Syrup, Red Dye #40, Mechanically Seperated (anything), Partially Hydrogenated Oil..
Also avoid stressing out. Stress is the main factor to unhealthiness and gaining weight.
Look up a local Naturopathic Doctor about it. Take it from me, my dad is a naturopathic doctor.. you can visit his site and learn more about him if you choose, just add details to your question and say so and I will email you his website.
I hope this helped, if you have any questions, or want additional information about losing weight, then just email me and I will get back to you :)
I know this is not an advertisement but if you are this serious about it, I would like to help you

Yeah, go ahead and kill yourself on this diet. Bananas and water! Don't be asinine!
whatever you eat is your diet. You need certain things to actuall keep that dense body of yours working--and it's more than bananas and water!
Eat 5 - 6 SMALL meals per day. Balance your meals: protien, carbs and fats. Exercise.
That will make you healthy and help you lose body fat. Stop the crap with fad diets! They never work, any way.
don't b rediculous
y don't u just not eat at all if ur going to do a diet like this
don't concentrate on a food like bananas instead eliminate harmful foods from ur diet such as cakes and biscuits and sugary drinks
after that try and snack on vegitables instead of high in saturaded fat foods
after that swich ur food to wholemeal, it has less fat
after that swich ur dairy products to low or no fat
and which ur slowley changing ur food intake increase the amount of exercise u do
u might not lose 60 pounds till december
but u will eventually
if u try the banana diet u might never see urself 60 pounds lighter, u might die!
Best ab workout.?
What is the best lower ab workout for someone very weak in the abdominals without any equipment?Answers: I would say the reverse curl. You lie on the ground, and you bend your knees up to your chest slightly lifiting your lower back then back down again and repeat. Your hands are flat by your waist by the way too.
I'm trying to lose weight too and it's sooo hard. My aunt is using a weight loss product and it's really working for her. I'm gonna try it and I recommend you try it too. Check their website at

How do I increase the number of Push-Ups I can Do?

One thing that will help you lose weight: diet pills. I was one of those who did not believe in them until I tried it. And I tried a few. The best product I found on the market is made with pure hoodia and it works great! You can go to
http://www.trim-fit.info and order you free trial, also you only pay $6.95 shipping and handling. Good luck!
You just have to do more practise. However, you can run around everyday and stretch your muscles so you won't be too stiff or tired when you do push ups. Good luck.
I'M 5'5 and weigth155lbs.People say I look fit,slim and muscular.i exercise every day.why am i so heavy?
Answers: cuz its muscle weight. Muscle weight is heavier than fat.
Great post! I totally understand how you feel. I'm also trying to lose weight and I found this great product which is working for me. You can check the website at
http://www.they-fit.info , I had a free trial and paid less than $7.00 shipping and handling. Best of luck!
bro its just your muscle adding on the weight, for instance im 5'11 and 241lbs @ 10% bodyfat. Put it this way, if you can see your abs and asking if you're fat you got issues lol.
It's your muscle weight. If males are a bit heavy but muscular, it's fine. Don't worry about it.
muscle weighs more than fat =]
Eat like a HEFFER?
This is sorta freaking me out. I'm very body concious, but it seems that the more I work out, the more I crave for food. I FEEL THE NEED TO STUFF MY FACE NEARLY EVERY OTHER HOUR! I do plenty of in-between, small portioned snacking.Besides the fact that females are very hormonal, what may be causing this?Answers: Your body is asking for more fuel. You didn't say what you weigh (none of my business) but I'll bet your just burning calories, and your system is saying "OKAY--you want to run this vehicle hard? Your going to have to gas it up!" When I swim, I get out of the pool and could eat twice as much as when I don't swim. That's my best answer on this one.
ur body is eather in need of more energy or u could b dehydrated. sometimes people mistake their thirst for hunger so first try to drink water, if u still feel really hungry try to eat low gi snacks (eg wholemeal breads and cereals) to keep u full for longer
Wow... You can't be serious...! ?
I am by no means asking for a miricale weight loss program. These pills have been sitting in my cabinet for quite some time... my sister bought them, but then later realized she couldnt take them because of some of the medication she was on... but anyways... I have opened that and looked at it every day... and I was just wondering are those safe for your body? Do they work? I would bet its only water weight right? and it says they curb your appetite.... is that why you loose weight?? WELL basically if you have any info on these pills... tell me what you think...Answers: Basically, a diet pill controls your hunger and nothing else. I doesn't make you lose weight, it just gives you a little loss of appetite. Ultimately, it is you who makes the decision to keep eating or not, to exercise or not, and to lead a healthy lifestyle.
HAHAHAH ARE YOU FAT OR SOMETHING HAHAHA!!!!
Sorry I laughed I was just playing around.I dont know sorry...
I came across this great product for weight loss and it was excellent for me. Together with a good diet and exercise I am finally happy with my body and the way I look. You should check this product at

I need motivation and help!!?
I am 27 years old, I have two beautiful children, I am home alone all day, and tend to sleep it away. I am recently, well, 2 years newly single, and yes there are still some hangups with that... The relationship I was in was VERY detrimental to my lifestyle.. I was in the Air Force for 4 years pre relationship.. weighing in at about 160.. Now I am 240.. I am 5'7.. The difference in my weight is I really do carry it well.. I am thick, no doubt.. but I don't believe you would guess I weigh as much as I do if I were in front of you.. I am VERY broad shouldered, large thighs... you know the usual.. My question is not how do I loose my weight.. I understand how to do that.. Proper diet, excersize.. And I understand that I need to fix my sleeping habits in order to feel more motivated and accomplished... My question is simply.. Since I am on the road to doing all of the things I listed... HOW oh HOW!!! do i loose the weight in my arms... WITHOUT BULKING UP!!Answers: I must agree with Jason, but hasten to add that loosing weight in your arms will only come when you loose weight all over.
Strangely, we seem to loose the weight in the places we want to loose last.
Good luck

Nutrasystem??
I know you get the meals but what do u drink with the meals?Answers: it is not good if you drink when your taking your meals. you should have a drink 30 minutes after the meal. it helps you to digest better.
NutriSystem Nourish Diet plan is a "send you the food" diet plan. Its sales in 2006 totaled $435 million through September, so it is a major factor in the $800 million home delivery diet food market. It attained the No. 1 spot on Forbes magazine's Best 200 Small Companies in America. Competitors are Jenny Craig, who started as a NutriSystem employee, and "Seattle Sutton's Healthy Eating".[1] NutriSystem had approximately 800,000 customers in 2006.[2]
The NutriSystem Diet is based on the Glycemic Index of Carbohydrates. Foods with a low glycemic index raise your blood glucose levels slower and over a longer period of time than foods with a high glycemic index. Combined with a low fat diet, exercise, and frequent smaller portioned meals, the glycemic index diet is supposed to reduce hunger (due to a constant blood glucose).[3] There is some support for weight loss and health benefits of low glycemic-index diets in controlled scientific studies,[4][5] however, some other studies have suggested there is no long-term benefit to these diets.[6]
"Americans, aided by the restaurant industry, have lost all sense of what normal portioning is," according to the company's chief nutritionist, Jay Satz.[7] A goal of the program is that the education about portion size will shift to the person's consumption of other food when the program ends.[8]
The diet consists of 3 meals plus snacks which cost about $10 per day. You order the food up front and receive a shipment in the mail. None of the food needs refrigeration. You must supply around 65% of the total food for the diet on your own, in the form of low or no-fat yogurt, salads, low fat cheese, bread, the low GI carbs, etc. The food that you are shipped is the basic base meal for each meal. Customers can customize their orders to include their favorite foods.
In 2005 the core group of customers were women in their 20's through 50's. In 2006, the company increased its marketing to men. Mike Golic, Dan Marino, Don Shula, and John Kruk are among those who have endorsed this product.
The company started out in 1972 selling a liquid protein diet, which it abandoned in 1978 due to the growth of competition. It then started selling food which was packaged and preserved with the latest techniques in portion controlled packages, to take the decisions out of dining. [9] The company went bankrupt in the early 1990's and closed down its weight-loss centers, where customers weighed in and got their meals. It reemerged in 1999 as an internet advertiser with the meals shipped to consumers. CEO Michael Hagen shifted advertising to TV, using satisfied customers in ads. Clients can call, email or chat online with the weight loss counselors for advice or support. The average customer stays on the program 10 weeks and loses 20 pounds. Many regain the weight lost, and many come back for more delivered diet meals. [10]
NutriSystem's 2007 market value was approximately 2 billion dollars.[11]
The Nutrasystem weight loss program is considered one of the more successful on the market today. With its pre-made meals delivered to users' doors, there's little to no guesswork involved in what can be eaten and how much food is actually enough to create a portion. While it might seem a bit unorthodox, the Nutrasystem diet delivers some sound science with its meals.
The Nutrasystem diet operates using the glycemic index. The system involves a quality measurement of carbohydrates and their impacts on blood sugar levels. Carbs that are known to break down slowly tend to help maintain sugar levels. Carbs that break down more quickly tend to cause insulin levels to spike. When a spike happens, fat storage tends to, as well.
Operating off this "good" carb, "bad" carb theory, the Nutrasystem plan seeks to create meals that offer the best nutritional values and tastes, while concentrating on the use of "good" carbs. The idea is to provide low glycemic value foods to keep sugar levels and appetite under control. Even in non-diabetics, this particular system can have an impact. Since insulin spikes still happen in non-diabetics, the plan tends to make fairly good sense.
Beyond the specialized meals delivered pre-measured to one's doors, the system also offers a few other perks over other weight-loss programs. The benefits of a Nutrasystem plan include:
- Specifically tailored meals. Nutrasystem isn't designed to meet only one type of person's needs. The program includes diet plans for women, men, type II diabetics and even vegetarians. There is further tailoring to meet the specific nutritional needs of older men and women.
- Food choice. Nutrasystem tends to offer a lot of different meal and dessert options in all of its individual plans. From fast-food type dinners to appeal to the guys to pastas and sauces and beyond, the choices are many.
- No weigh ins. The program does not involve the use of meetings, weigh ins and counting plans. This means participants are free to go about their normal business while loosing weight.
- Counselors available. The Nutrasystem diet plan comes with a built-in network of support.
- Maintenance. The meal plans are designed to work for both initial weight loss and maintenance. This makes keeping weight off a bit easier.
The Nutrasystem plan is a bit different than others, but it tends to balance the science of nutrition with some common sense advice. With a variety of choices, most participants find there are:

What's the difference between an ashtanga yoga mat and a normal yoga mat?
Answers: An Ashtanga yoga mat is also known as a rug. Unlike the typical yoga sticky mat, the Ashtanga mat is made of cotton. They were used for hundreds of years in India before the sticky mats were invented. The cotton absorbs sweat and a lot of people who practice Ashtanga use it on top of a sticky mat, but it can be used alone. When I do Ashtanga, I usually just use my sticky mat though. Here are some links to Ashtanga mats:

Motivation to lose 30.?
I need to lose 30 pounds.END-OF-STORY.
I know what I need to do. I need to take in far fewer calories than I use up for energy. I should focus on eating fruits and veggies that are lower in calories and fill me up faster. I should do intense cardio workouts and strength training exercises.
You see, I know what I must do. The thing is, I love my pizza and Friday-night binges. I don't know if I can stick to so many raw foods and overwheling workouts for 3-4months (which is how much time I need to lose 30 pounds)!
Can someone help motivate me??
Answers: If you eat well all week except Friday evenings that's OK. You sound reasonable (unlike 99% of questions here) Giving yourself an evening to eat what you really like is a healthy (mentally) way to give yourself a break that you obviously need. Doing this will help in you long term plan. Good luck to you.
SKINNY JEANS! Playing with your future kids/grand kids without your thighs rubbing raw. Going on vacation and feeling comfortable in any (reasonable) swimsuit.
Eat one "free meal" per week, and leave it at that... Saturday night is probably best. Drink all your water.
I hear you, motivation is hard. For me its best to cut carbs in a healthy way..Lean meats, low sodium and for the first few days no work outs because it makes me think I need some pasta, that just goes right to my hips. On day 4 is work out day. I make stuff like slice eggplant pizza its really satisfing. your oven needs to be like 450 for it to cook like pizza. I also use portobella mushrooms as bread for a grilled sandwich.
What really helps me is knowing my body...I lose in the waist first and butt last. I don't use the scale for results I measure all over and for the first month I only measure my waist because thats were I can't know that my hard work is paying off. Once I get the first comment from a someone saying wow are you losing weight that the day I will run home to jump on the scale and I will be on cloud nine for the rest of my weight lose.
I lost 80 pounds and kept it off for 5 years, depression and hard times has been rough on me and I gained 50lbs. and its time to get out of the mud and get on the path of weight lose once again. Its hard to get a good start but for me its tomorrow, so good luck to you and me.
Also go head and set your mind on the clothing your going to wear soon. I know your going to do it. If money is no problem buy some too small clothes.
Set up a small, reasonable goal like 3 pounds per a month. That way you don't have to fully give up your favorite foods. Add some walking to your schedule.
