Diet Fitness Questions and Answers
Is working out 15 hours (avg) a week too much exercise?
I think I could be obsessed with exercise! Does anyone think it is too much exercise or just right? I'm 16.Answers: No, I don't think so. That's just slightly over 2 hours per day (assuming you work out 7 days a week). And that doesn't mean you work out every minute of those 2 hours. At a gym, there are always rest periods you take in between sets, water breaks, etc.. I work out for about 1.5 hrs. every day, but if I had time, I would love to take my time and spend a full 2 hours daily.
As long as you're not doing the same muscle group every day, staying hydrated, not completely wearing yourself out, etc... it's completely fine.
working out a week depends on your schedule, your body capacity, your lifestyle and everything.
so there is no exact value of how much you should work out in a week.
but then again, putting too much stress on your body is not too good, so if that 15 hours is heavy workout, its too much..
if its just light workout, its just good ^_^
I am disable, I can get on the to do exercises. I need some exercises for flattening my abs.?
Answers: Do you have access to a physical therapist? They would be the best ones to answer this question depending on your disabilities. But here is an isometric exercise I got off wikipedia (i searched "isometric exercises" on yahoo.com) that may be of some use to you. Isometric abdominal tension
Stand or sit tall and straight
Breathe in and pull in the stomach
Maximally contract the abdominal muscles (rib cage will dip down slightly and pelvis may rotate upwards)
Breathe out making an “sssss” for seven seconds (this will cause intra-abdominal contraction)
Keep the stomach in tight and inhale
Repeat ten times; do not relax the stomach until completely finished all ten repetitions
I walk 2.5 miles on a thread mill at a speed of 3 mph. how many steps have I taken?
Answers: It depends on how large a stride you have. The speed only matters if you are taking larger steps.
alot
If I lift weights everyday, than stop for a while (1 week or longer) will I lose my muscle?
Muscle, butt, arms, stomach.I saw very healthy, I eat fish everyday, salads, etc....
Answers: Actually, you will gain muscle. All weight training regimens require a 'rest period' for your muscle to recover from the training. During this time is when the majority of muscle growth occurs. You would have to stop for more than amonth or so to start losing muscle. Try alternating between two weeks training/one week off, or something along those lines. You really don't want to go more than two weeks off or you'll have to spend the next week just getting back to where you left off.
you will gain some muscle because your body is repairing the damaged tissue, making it bigger. Just make sure you dont rest for too much longer because then you will lose muscle, its one of the principles of training called reversibility.
The best way to take advantage of mucle repair while constantly trainint id to devise a split program.
nope.... Arnie says "muscles have memories"
if you stop workout your muscles will soften but it will recover as soon as you are back on the workout.
unless you change your progame to 'weight loss' one then you will be thinner and weigh lesser.
Hi,
I've tried so many different diets in the last 10 years that I can say now, they don't work!
A few months ago, I came across a great product for weight loss and like many others I was skeptical about it. But I really wanted to lose weight and I tried it. The results were excellent and I lost 20 pounds in 2 months. I felt fantastic and I dropped another 5 pounds safely. That's why I recommend you check this product at
http://www.diet-fun-now.us where they have a free trial and you only pay $6.95 shipping and handling.
Good luck!
I need to lose 15 pounds fast?
PLease i'll do anything it takesAnswers: You can lose it fast- but it will be just water weight. And you will end up gaining it back and then some!
So, stick to eating healthy and exercising- and you WILL lose the weight- the safe way.
there is no way to lose weight fast... you lose water first but then you will gain it back ....
but here is a way to do it it is healthy and safe only for 1 week....
eat kind of chiken soup for breakfast, lunch and dinner
boil 1 galon of water with 1 chiken breast steak with some onion, garlec and little bit of salt. chop green squach, celery, bell pepper and you can add all the green vegetables you want, but they have to be green. this is the only thing you have to eat in all day remember for breaskfast lunch and lunch.
and in between meals. you can do it up to 2 weeks no more, and you will loose a lot of weight..... sometimes i do it it helps me a lot......
but remember you will not lose fat you will lose water first there is no miracle to loose fat fast.......
Good luck
How do you seriously increase energy levels? WIthout caffeine or anything illegal/artificial?
Because I'm going to start falling asleep at work soon. On my feet.Answers: Healthy carbs throughout the day. Water, and a generally balanced diet. Start exercising.
Eat an apple or salad with salmon or chicken. Oatmeal gives me energy, plain oatmeal with cinnamon and bluberries in it.
Green tea is good for you and the caffiene is natural and wont make you crash. Yogi is my favorite brand.
Lots of water. Move around, get your blood flowing.
Go to your car and take a ten minute power nap. If you put your feet up its more rejuvinating, dancers do this.
monster energy drinks :D
i only got about 5 hours of sleep last night & I had one in this morning & im on my feet too.
Im wide awake :D
watch out, they are like a stool softener for me anyways :)
Make sure you get enough sleep. Regular exercise can also help improve your energy level.

I'm 6'4 190 pounds and 11 percent body fat. What is a nice weight and body fat percentage for me if I want to play Shooting Guard or Small Forward?Answers: Well, Kobe Bryant stays between 8-10%, but most in those positions keep their body fat in the single digits.
See this article:

How long will it take me to lose 27 pounds.?
i am a 13 year old girl and i am 5'5 i weight about 180 pounds. i also need some advices and suggestions on working outAnswers: Ideally, the best weight-loss is about 2-3 pounds a week. It's the most healthy for your body. Any more lost beyond that is really bad for you, ask any physical trainer or nutritionist.
Anyways, exercise often, and eat balanced meals, with not too many sweets. You should be great if you stick to it :)
Then, you can have it lost in 2 months.
idk...
for me, i just went on a easy diet for the past 6 months
and went from a 128 to 113
If you eat smaller, healthier portions and do a daily exercise routine then it could take you as little as 2 1/2 months.
The first 15-20 pounds are the easiest to lose then after that your weightloss will begin to even out.
ummm, your a little heavy but not bad, cuz your tall, but i say probabyl 2 months, if you eat 1000 calories a day and get 3 dyas a week of excercise, for like 1 hour. im 5'1 and 130 pound im trying to lose 25 pounds. if youwant to discuss it more you can email me.
I also weigh about 180!! But the thing is... I'm 19 years old and I'm 5'9"... so yeah I think you should start going to the gym real soon or else you'll have a problem sooner or later since you're only 13 years old!
you still young to weight that much and in the same time according to you age you can loss the wieght easy but by following instuctions and a healthy diet by your doctor...
Give yourself 6 months to a year to lose it. Rethinking the way you eat and how you spend your free time, takes time. You want this for life right, you don't want to yo-yo around having to constantly lose weight, only to gain it again.
I suggest you speak with your phys-ed teacher for support & guidance and even a workout routine. And at 13, I give you enough credit to know what is and isn't good for you to eat.
Good luck!

I'm overweight-i hate my image anD really want to lose 30lbs. ive consiDereD 'starving' -what shoulD i Do?
remember-im a preteen so i cant Do certain things aDults anD full teens Do..Answers: See your doctor and ask him about a healthy diet for your age. Only eat one sweet snack or serving of chips per week. Now is a good time to stop drinking soda and sweet teas (I did it at your age and no longer even want them at age 22). Eat plenty of fruits and veggies, and ask your mom if you can start making lunch for school, like a turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread with mustard and cucumbers (no mayo or American cheese), carrot sticks, a piece of fruit, and a few reduced fat crackers. Drink water! Also join some sport teams at your school. The track team pretty much has something for everyone, and soccer is a lot of fun (I just started this spring, you're not too old!).
Starving is never a good idea.
Here are some ideas for you:
-Are you really overweight? Visit your doctor and find out. If your doctor says you're healthy, explain that you think you're fat. I don't know what you look like so you might have a poor image of yourself. If your doctor says you're healthy, consider talking to a therapist or a counselor about your low self esteem.
If your doctor tells you that you are a little overweight find out how much and:
-Don't eat bad fatty foods. If your friends want to go to McDonalds get a chicken burger or a salad instead of a burger or fries.
-Don't eat potato chips - eat fruits, bran, veggies instead.
-Eat foods that are good for you and don't have empty calories (foods that are full of calories and fat but don't have any healthy value to them).
-If you really must eat out, try somewhere relatively healthy like Subway or order a chicken salad. Beware of fatty salad dressings and tons of mayo on a sub. Try using oil and vinegar or low fat dressings instead.
-DO NOT use diet pills. First off, they aren't tested for people under 18 and, secondly, they're often bad for you. Read about that new drug Alli - supposedly all it does is make you poop a lot.
-Drink around 6 to 8 glasses of water a day.
-Do some easy exercises. Try yoga, pilates, walking, or running. Don't overdo it. My tv has a fitness channel so I'll just turn that on and do some pilates and yoga once a day.
-Mostly just stay overall healthy. Get 8-10 hours of sleep a night, take vitamins, if you have sex make sure you're ready and ALWAYS use a condom, exercise around 4 times a week, eat plenty of fruits and veggies, don't smoke, don't do drugs, don't drink, drink a good amount of water, and don't forget your emotional health. Love yourself and know that you're beautiful.
Don't starve! All that does is tell your body is that it needs food and then it slows your metabolism down. Not good or healthy.!
Are you really overweight or are you fixating on your weight? You need to go to your family physician and have him weigh you and if you need to go on a diet have him put you on a diet.
In the mean time you can eat healthy. Eat fruits and vegetables and don't forget to get a protein in there. Stay away from fried foods and pizza. Eat salads with lo-cal dressing. To chase away those hunger pangs between meals have an apple or some carrot sticks.
Exercise is good but don't over do. Go for a walk with a friend or maybe if you like to jog go for a run with a friend a couple of times a week. (It's always safer in 2's plus it passes the time by faster.)
You're special! You are worth more than a basket of smiles!
Good luck to you!
Walking and doing housework is the best exercise for losing fat and ensure that your diet does not include any high calorie foods. Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will lose weight faster. From http://myweight.info
