Diet Fitness Questions and Answers

How tall am i going to be?

i am about 5foot8 and im 13, turning 14 in december
How tall am i going to be?
i think im gonna be 6foot6
Answers: The height of both your parents is a very strong indicator of how tall you will be. If your dad is well over 6' tall and your mom is 5' 8" or taller you will likely be 6' 2" or taller. While your parent's height is a very good predictor is isn't always correct.
usually your doctor can tell you during your check up. just ask him. the answer will not be exact, but it is the closest you can and will get.

Losing weight the healthy way... ?

ok, so i've been on alot of diets, none of them worked. i dont even eat alot. i just never excercise. so when u answer this question, please dont give me diet things or wahtever. my stomach is not like hard fat. it's like watery fat. ok. this sounds so disturbing but whatever. anyways, how do i lose it?? like i really want to lose weight, and i want to lose it healthy. so i do the AB lounge, and golf.. and by golf i lost some weight on my hips. i want it so i dont lose my boobs or butt. pleasse help. sounds impossible i know /:
Answers: There is only one way to find your optimal weight. Eat a well balance diet and exercise every day. It isn't easy to do in our fast paced lifestyles, but it is really simple. Remember when they told you about the food group in grade school. You need a balanced diet of them and follow a good exercise and stretching routine.
You've probably heard this all before but seriously it'll work if you just cut down on junk and eat more healthily.

For exercise, do stomach exercises to flatten your abs and do jogging and swimming as these won't make you 'lose' your bum it'll just make it look better. :)
well the more weight you lose the
more boobs & butt you lose
no matter what, cause you have
to lose it everywhere :[
we all hate it :)
crunches to help your abs
and lunges or squats to help the bum
and swimming to tone up everywhere.
maybe join a dance class.
or join a tennis team or schedule
stuff like that, something you would enjoy.
Exercise everyday like jogging around the block
Skip meals. Eat 2 times per day than 3 times per day
Dont eat until you're full
Eat fruits at night if your hungry.
Drinks lots of water and stop all the fast food and chocolate.
There are more tips and info.

Good Luck :)
Having a pot belly or beer belly appears unpleasant, makes you feel embarrassed and lose your confidence. A rigid work out like stomach crunches and sit ups can help in losing some fats in your belly.

You can also do things to avoid this unwanted belly by having a healthy eating habit. Try to eat leaner meat, cut down carbo intake, and have more vegetables in your diet.

Do you think I will make the School's Cheerleading team?

I have 4 years of Gymnastics experience, and I'm good at cheering.
I can do a Handstand, Cartwheel, Back and front Handspring, A split, A backward, and Forward flip in the air, and a round off.
I am 14 years old, a girl, I am 5"4, and I weigh 86 pounds, I do have a lot of fat on my stomach and thighs, though.
I have dirty blonde/Really light brown hair, and green eyes.
Do you think I can make the team?
Answers: From your age, I'll assume you're in middle school. It's easy to make it on the cheerleading squash (non-varsity that is), so I'm sure you'll probably make it with your skills.

86 pounds at 5`4? That sounds really unhealthy and sickly...you might want to gain some weight/muscle.

I don't know why you told us what color your hair and eyes are though.
Can you post a pic?

honestly, that is waaaay too skinny.I mean guys like thin people, but that sounds like unattractive skinny.
LOL. You tell us your hair/eye color like that matters! SILLY EIGHTH GRADER!

Am i supposed to be size1 or 3 in juniors?

I'm really curious because I am currently more than a size than, but less than a size 5. (i can fit mostly size 5.) I'm 5'3, age 13 almost 14 (8th grade), female, and i weigh 129 pounds. Do you think that size 3 is a good size? Some one on DietFitnessFAQ.com told me that size 3 will still make me look fat.
Answers: A size 5 is just fine. You are in a healthy BMI range. I don't know what whoever told you a size three was fat was thinking.
whoever told you that you would still be fat is a jerk.u should stay at the weight you are comfortable in.try to figure out what your healthy weight is and base your weight on that.

5'5 160 pounds? and 12 yrs old?fat?

well i do gymnastics and some of my legs and arms are muscle but i still have a little flab on my thighs and arms but my stomach is almost flat?? is this fat ..im curvy??
Answers: Your bmi indicates that you are somewhat overweight.Could you give more details?I hope that you do not go to extremes like "shirely".

could you post a pic or something so we can actually tell?

Shirely, you are making mean comments about this person. You are obvious underweight and have anorexia/body image problems. You need to understand that there is more to life than being skinny, and boys generally don't like girls who are too skinny, like you. So don't listen to shirely, please, and please mark her comment as bad.

And one final detail on shirely-there is a comment by her on another person from 1 week ago, and there she said she was 93 lbs...which means she lost weight and still thinks she's fat.So don't listen to her.

Oh, you said you have a lot of muscle....well that makes sense if you do gymnastics...and muscle weighs more than fat, and you are growing anyway...so don't worry! You'll be fine!

Well oh my goodness yet another detail on shirely...it appears that only a few weeks ago she was 141 lbs...and now she's 86!A 55 lb. loss...and she is judging other people...she needs HELP.
I'm not trying to be mean, but yes. I'm 5'3, 129, and 13 almost 14, and i know im fat. go to http://fitday.com
it says you're over weight. So does the bmi scale. and so what if you're curvy? over weight ppl still have curves. plz dont take this offensivly =]]
I'm 5'5, age 52, and weigh 149... for me that's overweight. You're so young though - it's hard to know if you're overweight or not. You should talk to your mom about this, ok? Or to your doctor. It might just be a matter of cutting out junk food and soda and keeping up with your gymnastics.
you're still growing. it's fine to be at this weight if you're comfortable with yourself. as long as you keep the physical activities in your daily routine and don't eat too much junk food, you'll be fine.

Dieting help??

Can someone tell me some good sources of protein? (especially snacks) or other foods that help build body mass in a healthy way?

Every one always focusses on the overweight people... what about the underweight ones?!
Answers: I'll suggest that you try the magnetic diet. They recommend a combination of diet, exercise and meditation. Read more about their program at: http://www.magnetic-diet.com

Good Luck

Be Careful

Fad Diets are Unhealthy

Some fad diets focus on one particular food or type of food. Other fad diets are fasting-type-diets and limited in duration to a few days.

This is bad diet-nutrition. The No 1. rule of good diet nutrition is:

Eat a balanced diet that includes a variety of foods.

Fad diets may cause you to develop nutritional deficiencies, because no one type of food has all the nutrients necessary for good health.

In particular, beware fad diets that promote "fat-burning" foods. There are no foods that have special "fat-burning" properties.

That's why you should eat moderate amounts from all food groups, not large amounts of a few special foods.

Fad dieting can sometimes lead to weight-cycling or yo-yo dieting - i.e. weight loss, followed by regain, followed by weight loss then regain etc. New research suggests that such weight cycling may lead to obesity.

So, avoid fad diets and fad dieting. Instead, pay attention to the Food Pyramid Guidelines and eat a balanced diet that includes foods from ALL food groups.

Weight Loss Diet Advice

The best plan for healthy weight loss and long term weight control is a balanced diet coupled with regular exercise.

Has anyone tried the fiber 35 diet? If so on Phase one did you drink the shakes for breakfast and lunch?

Answers: You should take it in place of your meals otherwise you may feel hungry. The diet is meant to:
control hunger by acting as a natural appetite suppressant as it takes up a large volume in the stomach and has no calories.
promote and prolong the effect of the hormone CCK (cholecystokinin) to make you feel full longer.
slow the conversion of carbohydrates to sugar (this allows glucose to be used efficiently by the body).

Do you think i'm too skinny/muscular?

http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/296...
Answers: Muscular...You look very fit. I think you have a perfect body. I would kill to look like that
No, I think you look really good. It's not like you are ripped or anything, just very lean and athletic looking. Still feminine so don't worry : )

How do I get rid of love handles?

Answers: side crunches

and cut down on food
A combination of weight loss and exercise.
Failing that, more extremely, liposuction.
You need to take in fewer calories than you are consuming. Basically, you need to create a calorie deficit so your body will use up the 'fat stores' that are your love handles.
Use a steering wheel.
do exercises that stretch you r sides.
I heard of colon cleanser is the fastest and best way of doing it. Cleanses your entire system like a pipe needs some deep cleaning same way our physical system works.
Good old crunches and push-ups. For the crunches make sure you do some that work both sides of your body. With you arms behind your head and your elbows sticking out move your right elbow to your left knee and your left elbow to your right knee. Do this fast with your legs kicking out straight in front of you. Good luck!
Diet Exsersize
side crunches, bicycle crunches, side leg lifts while standing up, jogging in place while lifting your knees (like you're trying to jump in and out of two tires.) my gym teacher made fun of all the kids if they were fat. she says ," you gotta work your love handles." and she should say abs or obliques =(
Do toe-touches and windmills for 20 minutes a day.
( a windmill is where you bend at waist, spread your
legs and swing
you left hand to your right foot, and visa versa ),
stop eating so much fatty!!!!

Am I burning calories even though I dont sweat?

Iam a 20 yr. old female, 185 lbs. Just started going to the gym. I do 40 minutes of cardio on the treadmill and weight lifting 4 times a week. I dont drop a sweat! ever! and i am worried that iam not burning anything!! thanks for your answers in advace!
Answers: 'Calories' are energy.

To move something, you need to use energy. So if the pedals are turning, or the treadmill belt's moving, or the stack is rising, or the discs are being lifted, then you are using calories. You might not be sweating because the level of exercise is easy for you. The same level of exercise might make somebody weaker sweat like a leaky waterbed.

The good news is that working at an effortless level burns more fat (over time). The ('slow-twitch') muscle fibres that perform gentle movements, can ONLY burn fat. Working hard doesn't burn any extra fat; the extra power you need to apply comes ONLY from sugarburning fibres. Using sugar will make you tired and hungry, so it's a false economy.

The treadmill (or other cardio equipment) will have a meter that shows the level you're working at; it might even give a number for 'calories used so far'. You can use this to check how hard the exercise is meant to be, compared to how hard it is for you. While resting between weight sets, you could watch somebody else working with the same amount of iron you use. Are they sweating? Do they struggle?

Compared to men, a much smaller proportion of the female population, are involved in any kind of organised sport. That should mean, statistically, that a lot of naturally gifted female athletes have never had a chance to notice their ability. You might be one of them.

However, t is also possible that you have a condition which prevents you from sweating (hypohidrosis, anhidrosis); some people have the opposite problem, and sweat all over the place whether it's warm or not. Surprisingly, the use of botox to control this condition is fairly common.

If you are a 'non-sweater', it can be dangerous to exercise hard (you'd overheat easily), but if you've been ok for a good while, then you're clearly not working hard enough to be in too much danger. Perhaps you should check with the doctor, just in case.
yes. sweat is a part of your bodies homeostasus. that is what keeps your body regulated. sweat has to do with temperature. when it is too hot for your body, your body produces sweat. the sweat takes out salt and water from your body. the liquid takes some of your bodies heat and evaporaes in the sun, thus cooling yo down. but, some people do tryy to loose weight threw sweat. that is your bodies water weight- it is not long lasting or healthy. so sweating has nothing to do with carbs
