L.A. Weight Loss a ripoff?
I recently joined L.A. Weight Loss. I need to lose 80 pounds and I have heard many people I know have success. However I am spending quite a bit for everything. It costed me over 400 dollars for the length of the program and several hundred for the snack bars I apparently need. Is this program all about profit? Did I get duped? Anyone who has done the program please respond. Thanks.Answers: dude, its ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!!
every time you go in to weigh they are gonna want you to buy more bars or more of there pills....... I got took for more than 1,000 bucks.
I have not done the program, but I think it is pretty reputable. It is all about supportive guidance and self-control (snack bars instead of cookies!). Image if you lose that weight in the time alloted just by following their program, how much you will save in medical bills over the next 10-20 years.

I do not agree that it is a rip off.. It worked wonderfs for me. I have lost 100 pounds total. It's taken me almost 2 years, but it's off, and I have amazing, healthy eating and exercise habits. Was it all because of LA wieght loss? No , in part it was, the educational part, but it's really up to the individual and whether or not you are really ready. really ready means you are able to hold yourself back from over eating constantly and you are willing to get up and do some form of exercise. Is there anyway of loosing weight on your calves?

you can stand on the edge of a step and do calf raises to help tone them. It won't bulk them up, just add muscle so you'll have definition. You'll have to do a lot though since your not using weight. Try starting with 3 sets of 25.
you cant spot reduce "fat" from anywhere. it comes off where it comes off.. but running can help lower body fat % and will help make your calves look more "defined"

But, there is no "healthy way to do it" If you want a great body you are going to have to commit to an exercise and diet program. You can lose a quick 1-2 lbs by taking water pills for a week but I wouldn't recommend taking them any longer than that.

you say you don't want to throw up (good), go hungry, exercise too much and get a great body in a week. That won't happen. But what you can do is eat healthy, exercise regularly, and you could HEALTHILY lose 1-2 pounds per week.
The word is "lose," not "loose."
And "too much," not "to mmuch."
And it's "weigh," not "way."
And being skinny is not a great body.
Have you ever heard of Karen Carpenter? If not, I suggest you do a search, or ask someone.
Well, except for what you mentioned above, I don't see how you could lose 5-10 lbs in a week. My suggestion to anyone wanting to lose weight is to try to eat healthy and only one serving, and to exercise. It is best to exercise at least three times per week. How tall are you? Cause 120 lbs isn't too bad of a weight. Good luck.
What vitamins should one take to live healthier?
just want to know what i should be takeing every dayAnswers: None at all, just eat 5 portions of fruit and veg a day, drink 8 cups of water, and get some exercise! All the rest is a waste of time and money, unless you're veggie, in which case you need to make up the Vitamin B that your body actually NEEDS from eating meat...

You need ALL your vitamins and minerals, and a good, consistent cardiovascular work out, to stay healthy. The B and B complex deal with brain activity. C and E are use to fight infections. I think K is used for blood clouting (if you cut yourself you want the blood to eventually clout), but I am not sure. A is for eye function--not just for night vision.
Now the good thing about this is if you eat lots of RAW vegetables you will get the vitamins and minerals you need. Fruits are okay, but they tend to have more sugar in them.
Stay away juices because they do not give you the same benifits as eating the fruit or vegetable. Because they have added more stuff to it, and usually remove pulp which has fiber.
On thanksgiving i want to run a 10k...but i don't know how to train?

Healthy meal at applebee's?
tomorrow is my cheat day! i'm probably going to applebee's for dinner, and i'd like to live a little bit but not eat something that is completely terrible. i dont want to order of the weight watchers menu because it is my cheat day, and i want some fries. i was thinking about getting the honey bbq chicken sandwich, no bacon and maybe asking for just a little cheese. does that sound like an okay/healthy choice as far as "cheating" goes? if not, do you have any other suggestions that would be healthier/better (regular menu please). thanks a lot!p.s- i'm almost 16. 5'6. 107 lbs.
Answers: Their 'Grilled chicken salad' is very tasty and is only 240 calories, their 'Blackened chicken salad' is 459 cals, or their 'Teriyaki Shrimp Skewers' are only 260 cals. If you plan to get anything will suace, try to make sure that you always have them put it on the side. If the meals I listed dont sound good, you could always go to their website, and check their nutritional table
In my opinion, if your going to "cheat" go for the yummy stuff. I agree, not to go too overboard. But , get the bacon on the salad. It wont kill you if you have it once in a while. If you eat it everyday it will be bad for you lol It's your CHEAT day, eat what you want while keeping what your eating in mind.

bought them out and I expect some better food to show up there.

Enjoy your meal what ever you choose. I had a gastric bypass so I have to pass on the Fry's. But chili is always a good choice for me when dining out so I would say chili Fry's.

You are underweight by at least 10 pounds. Your weight is the right weight for someone 5ft tall. I don't think you should be dieting to lose weight. Make good healthy food choices and don't worry so much about your weight. You may have an unhealthy view of what your weight should be. (If you were cheating on a diet the bbq sandwich no bacon and cheese with fries sounds like a good choice.)
Any good bodyweight exercises?
I'm just gonna switch things up and go from weights to bodyweight exercises for a month or two. Help me fill in the blanks for things I can do for certain body parts.Chest - Push-ups
Biceps - Chin-ups
Upper Back - Pull-ups
Abs - Sit-ups, various Ab exercises
Triceps - Dips
Calves - Calf raises
Quads/Hamstring - ?
Lower Back - ?
Shoulders - ?
Also, any additional ideas for the above ones that I listed something would be great.
Answers: errm, for lower back do superman stretch, for shoulders do a hand stand next to a wall, and then gradually bring urself down and then back up (bendin at the arms), do squats for legs (does most muscle groups) - try plyometric training, soz abut being abit weak on the info givin. but best if u research more urself so u can see how these exercises are properly performed. u can do tricpes by press ups again but do close grip.

Quads/Hamstring - jump squats/ jump lunges? hard to worth legs with just body weight
Lower Back - lots of core work.. abs work helps.. planks and such

How to get rid of toxins?
Answers: A very good way is to drink a lot of cold water, water naturaly detoxifys your body, and can help decrese head aches. Another way is to try to switch to all organic foods that is afordible, and eat extra greens, like salad, green beans, and broccoli, these little super foods will help cleanse the body, and even help keep your skin clear
water is the best, plus a vegetarian diet will be perfect for a while
Exercise stepper and risers?
Where is the best, and by best i mean cheapest, place to pick up a stepper and 4 risers? I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Should i order them or would it be better to get them at a resale shop for exercise equipment? Thx for your help!Answers: Sometimes they turn up at charity shops. Or look for secondhand places or pawn shops.
To people who work out and know what they are doing?
I just started working out (nothing too bad just bodyweight stuff like pushups,situps,pullups, and running). I'm confused about what is happening. I did about 65 pushups every other day last week, but this week the number dropped to 45 every other day. I couldn't even come close to 65. Why did the number drop? I took a couple days off and then tried again but the number was only 47. Any suggestions?Answers: eating habits, drink alot of water.
that's weird. what time of day did you do those 65 push-ups?

While this diet sounds somewhat excessive due to sweet snacks, the calorie content related to your weekly exercise must be known. In general, to put on weight, you must be consuming more calories than you're burning. If you're an active individual, however, with a lean frame and high metabolism, it will have much less of an effect on your figure than a sedentary person with a low activity rate.
Also, protein (meat) portions per meal should never be larger than a deck of cards, as a rule of thumb. Focus on fresh (or steamed/boiled) vegetables to be safe.
