Diet Fitness Questions and Answers

How many calories should i lose daily?

Ok so my doctor wants to lose at least 20 lbs. I weigh 190 and i go to the gym daily. How many calorise should i lose daily in order for me to lose weight? I usally lose about 500 every time i go.
Answers: You need to look more into it. Use this

http://www.stevenscreek.com/goodies/calo...
try adding more exercise (but not at the gym)

get a friend to walk with you in the morning, or run,(for about an hour) by addingmore exercise you should gradually lose more weight... and try slowly modifying your diet.
just drink water, and skip juices soda's and alcohol (if you drink)

after about a month I htink you should notice a difference not the 20 lbs. but you will be on your way there.
A human being needs calories a day:
For adult females - Multiply body weight by 10; add the body weight to this value.
[i.e., for a 120 lb female, 1,200 + 120=1,320 cal/day BMR]

If you want to lose weight, don't try it by not eating at all. Run 2 miles or so, try to lose 600 next day, then 700 and go on until you reach you limit or you lose 20lbs.
You go to a gym, right? So try all kinds of traning programs. It's good for your muscles, train them.
1 pound of body fat is equal to approx 3500 calories.

in a week...7 days...if you cut down your overall calorie intake approx 500 a day that would equal approx 3500 calories in a weeks time.

equaling 1 pound lost.

However. There are so many other factors to consider.

what are your calories made of to begin with? Even when lowering your calorie intake you need to know what you are putting in your body and how those particular calories work.

Bottom line.

The easiest way to lose fat, maintain muscle tone and a properly functioning mind and body is to eat several small meals a day.

Around 5.

Make sure those small meals always include some lean protein and veggies before anything else

Cut out anything white.

Flour, starches, corn, white bread, cakes, ice cream

all the high carbohydrate useless carbs.

I'm a size 10/12 does it matter?

Does it matter if my thighs rub together just at the top when i walk or is this normal?
Answers: I am a 6/8 and my thighs run together too. I think that only super skinny people don't have thighs that rub together. As long as you are happy with yourself, no need to worry.
my thighs rub together and I'm a size 6, but women are built differently

if you think you might be overweight, see a doctor to measure your body mass to get an accurate fat percentage

and you know what matters most is your health, being fit and strong.

concentrate on being healthy and the weight won't be an issue.
Size as they say is not everything. Build is important and your problem suggests a little healthy exercise would be a good idea.

Why do people associate being fat with being curvy?

the two has NOTHING to do with each other. sorry

i refuse to accept that someone with many rolls in their stomach and backs as "curvy"

Fat- out of breath, takes elevators instead of stairs, has excess skin filled with cellulite

curvy- a woman shaped like a coca bottle, with a nice medium/small sized body
Answers: Because , any excuse for a fat lazy person not to excersize is worth it to them. "Oh I don't need to loose weight! I can just write "BBW" or "Curvy" on my myspace posts and I have an excuse to be fat,..umm..but I STILL LOOK GOOD!" ugh. No they dont. At least before thanks to magazines and television fat people used to hate their bodies and do anything to get rid of fat. Now theyre tolerant of it and try to make up words on why they feel they look good. its a shame. Because then real curvy women get called fat. and that sucks, because curvy women rock.
its the same reason why they say chubby because they are too polite/ afraid to say fat/obese

p.s you dont have to be fat to have cellulite
this is a description FAT people use on themselves

another one is " big boned "

nope you are fat ! you aint curvy or big boned , deal with it

all the best
Ian
someone called me curvy at work.
I thought that was a compliment.
I am not overweight. and doesn't curves on a women mean that they are shapely-like an hour glass figure is curvy.
fat chicks are round like pears, that has nothing to do with being curvy. so in conclusion, I agree with you.
no, fat tissue makes us fat, cellulite is caused by the way skin adheres to our muscle tissue, curves are caused by fat tissue

if your body mass index, the percentage of body fat you've got on your body exceeds 25% then you can certainly be described as fat, at 75% you are obese, and anything more you are morbidly obese

have your doctor measure your fat percentage and get the facts and stop trying to make excuses

fat isn't just something we can see, it is inside of us, it collects on our heart tissue and excess weight weakens our backs, our knees, and keeps us on the couch resulting in declining health and fitness, resulting in millions of dollars being spent to treat heart disease, diabetes, and many other conditions caused by people making excuses for the way they abuse and neglect their bodies and hiding behind a lie that fat is beautiful,

being healthy and fit and strong is beautiful
I agree with you, they are different and should not be used to mean the same thing. I think it is because no one wants to actually call themselves "fat." They think curvy makes it sound a little better. Over the past few years the media has made image an important factor of being considered beautiful and or desired by the opposite sex. As a result I think a lot of people are in denial about their physical appearance so if they refer to themselves as curvy then they feel that they will be more accepted by others.

Let's face it people get a bad wrap for being fat, they are judged by others and get pegged as being lazy or sloppy people. The fact of the matter is that no one should pass judgment on someone they don't know, but it still happens and that is why people have become so shallow.
No, because being curvy has nothing to do with size.

And that goes both ways.....curvy doesn't mean small, medium or large, it means a curvy SHAPE.....And you can be curvy at ANY size if you have the right proportions. A waist/hip ratio of around 0.7 is said to be idea, for example:

34-24-34
37-26-37
40-28-40
45-32-45

These are all curvy proportions and range from small to medium to large.

P.S. You can also have cellulite at any size.

Any good ideas on how to get some exercise when you can hardly walk?

So a friend of mine keeps asking me things about what she should be eating and all this nutritional stuff. But then she also really talks about losing weight and I tell her that she needs to excercise if she really wants to lose anything much.

Well, the problem is that she is so short and fat (I am not saying that to be rude - it is just the facts). Anyway, she is so short and fat that she can hardly even walk and she gets short of breath just walking across the room.

I need some ideas of things she could do for exercise until she can get her weight down more so she can walk.

I really feel bad for her because she is kind of stuck in a catch 22. If she doesn't lose weight, she can't walk, but she can't walk, so she can't lose weight. I know there must be something she can do, but I just can't think of it right now, so I am asking for your help.

Thank you and please don't say anything rude. This is a serious question and I am looking for real answers to help her.
Answers: 1. She needs to stop eating and drinking so much junk. That means eliminating soda (if it's the caffeine that's the problem, she needs to switch to unsweetened tea) and instead of getting that sundae at McDonald's, she should get the fruit and yogurt parfait.
2. Eliminate fatty condiments. Mayonnaise is -horrible-. So is ranch dressing. Vinaigrette dressing is much better, and spices, barbecue sauce, soy sauce, and mustard are much better for you.
3. She needs to walk across that room several times a day. Walk across the room, sit down and rest. Walk across the room, sit down and rest.
4. Switch from beef to chicken.
5. Do NOT get breaded foods. Go for steamed and grilled foods.
6. Cheese is extremely high-fat.
7. ----Portion Size---! She needs to look at the labels and eat portion sizes. If she's buying low fat ice cream, and eating twice as much as she normally does because it's "low fat" that's completely defeating the purpose.

Suggest to her that she start keeping a food log. That will tell her a lot about where her dietary issues are.
She will have to take baby steps. Try sitting and then get up. Then sit and rise.
You do that until it is easy to do than increase avtivity from there.
you can sit in a chair and lift up your arm, bend down, and touch your toe and then sit back up and lift your other arm , bend down and touch your other toe! this will work your stomach, or lay down on the floor and do the scissors with your legs! is this really your friend or is it you!

OK lets start with a problem I had I could not move because I have fibromyalgia degenertive disk and joint disease. I was obese. So I got on weight watchers and the first I learned is drink all your water you need to divide your weight by 2 so I weighed 236 and I divided it and it came to 118 so I needed 118 oz water everyday! which means5 1/2 20oz bottles of water
Then they found in a study all caffeine stops you from loosing weight so I stopped drinking diet DR Pepper tea and coffee.

I just drank all my water and fruit juices I stayed at 232 for 8 weeks then I tried this and have lost 16 punds in 3 weeks!!

So get her off any caffeine. Next walk with her outside start a small amount and do this daily every little bit works do not let anyone tell you the walking 1/2 a block or 15 min does not work it will. Next time ask her if it hurts her to walk which I am sure she does and tell her you will encourage her anyway you can. It took a long time to get weight on so tell her do not expect any dramatic weight stuff the first few weeks, and reward her with something to work for like a star for every 5 pounds she takes off!! But try the water and caffeine it works!

Why fat stored mostly in our tummys?

Answers: Depends, often it's stored in your behind instead. Most male in the tummy, most female in the behind. By the way, women who store fat in their tummy are more prone to heart disease than women who store the fat around their thighs (apple versus pear shape).
its the easiest place for your body to put it for several reasons.

1: it doesnt get in the way of your mobility too much

2: it keeps the central part of your body warm

im sure someone with more anatomical knowledge will expand on this
Everyone is different though there are two typical fat patternings; the pear, small on top, big in butt and thighs and the apple, big on top like chest and belly small on bottom.

Your own fat patterning is determined by your DNA. Though I have to say that people often notice their belly chub before other places, so it can also be an issue of perspective.

Everyone says i have really nice curves but i want to get rid of the ones on my thighs, legs, belly and arms?

do you have any excersie tips because im not one for dieting.
Answers: These numbers vary on a person's size and daily activity but on the average men burn 2200 calories a day and women burn 1700 calories a day. That means that you need to keep the calories below those marks or you will gain weight. If you are able to lose 3500 calories in a seven day period then that will lose you one pound of fat. There are a few ways to do this. One way is to eat less and make sure it is easy to digest foods, like vegetables, lettuce, chicken, fish, etc.. The other way is to workout. I suggest this route because you have a much more fun lifestyle and look better. Working out tones and tightens your muscles as well as burns calories. The easiest way to lose weight is to buy a road bike (ten speed) and ride at least an hour a day. The typical 1 hour ride will burn between 800-900 calories. When you get better it makes good sense to ride two to three hours 3 to 4 times a week. You can do the math on the calorie lose. You can lose weight quickly, safely and it's better for your heart and lungs as well. Good Luck!
You aren't looking for exercise tips; you're looking for positive reinforcement. If you were looking for tips you would have asked without the gratuitous "everyone says..." line.

C'mon now... compliments from anonymous strangers aren't really what you need.

I cant stop bingeing! what should I do??

Im not even on a diet! Im just trying to control my portions and eat healthier..like I eat oatmeal for breakfast and absolutely avoid oil, butter, sugar, excess salt and refined flour but I eat normal portions yet I FEEL LIKE EATING ALL DAY LONG!! I may control the urge till maybe 4 pm but after that its like my leash breaks and I want to eat anything I see! sugar and flour and anything at all! i cant even stop myself.. I feel so sick after that! though Im working out and planning healthier meals I cant get myself to control that binge! please help me out!
Answers: You're addicted to some aspects of the food, and limiting yourself on these foods is causing cravings.

I'd suggest not cutting out all of those things you listed and try to SLOWLY ween yourself off these foods. It's ok to have a cookie and a frozen meal every now and then.

Another tip is to not keep your so called "bad foods" in arms reach. Throw them away and buy things that aren't as bad for you but still filling.

Are you drinking tons of water? I mean like 8-10 glasses a day? Water really helps you to feel full, and it dissolves fat. When/after you're eating, drink more water than food you consume. If you're still feeling hungry, have another half glass and a small snack like 4 crackers with peanut butter.

Eat peanut butter! It really helps you feel full for longer. Like if I eat an apple at 8am, I'll feel hungry around 9:30...but if I eat an apple with peanut butter, I won't feel hungry until lunch, AND I've cut out the calories I would have eaten had I felt hungry.

Those rice cakes with peanut butter are really great, and only have about 40 calories each.

Hopefully that helps! I just went on a binge -.- I am very addicted to sugar. Over time I have been able to cut out sodas entirely, but I get really low blood sugar and start to feel faint. So I had cookies :( It's ok though! One bad day doesn't ruin your plan.

The other thing I do is have a BITE of someone else's food that I crave, and that taste is usually enough to satisfy my craving. Then you can go back to eating your healthier stuff.
Been there, its horrible.

How I got past it-
*have a bigger breakfast
*treat yourself every now and then
*whenever you feel a binge coming along, brush your teeth
*always eat at the table- make it a habit
*give yourself set times to eat
*plan your meals

Everyone is different though, but if you are feeling the need to binge its probably because you're body isn't getting something that it wants. Remember that sugar and all the things we think are bad are still part of a balanced diet [and are essential to normal bodily function] and aren't a problem in moderation.

How can I lose rapid weight? I've been struggling with all the stress and I don't know what to do?

My boyfriend who I haven't seen in months now is coming down to see me. I want to look perfect. I've gained alot of weight ever since he had left, but now want to lose. it. I'm 180 pounds, when before I was 160. Help me!
Answers: No magic pill works, sorry, and anyone that tells you different is lying, trying to sell you something, or just ignorant.

Here is what you CAN do:
To lose that weight now, you can go on a low-carb diet combined with a heavy cardio exercise program.

Check out the atkins. I do not like it, but for quick weight loss it is the only real solution that is somewhat healthy.

Remove all carbs you can, reduce your diet to a low fat, low cal.

Exercise exvery day for 30 minutes. Walking, jogging, swimming, jump rope. This is a must.

At 180 lbs you will burn about 1850 cals to stay where you are.

Reduce your cal intake to 1400.

That's it. Go for it!

Good luck!
You might want to eat right and exercise regularly. Get a special diet, get advice from a personal trainer. And develop some serious discipline.

Go ahead. You can do this!
you've messed up big time.

Surgery
Starvation
Wraps
Sauna
Enemas
Work out work out work out
Then get a corset
DRINK FAT FREE MILK
EAT 4 SMALL MEALS A DAY
NO FRIED FOODS OR CHIPS
CUT DOWN ON THE WHEAT, REPLACE WITH RICE
It is not healthy to loose weight all in one go. You need to lose weight over time.
Cut down on food and eat more healthy foods.
Go for a 30 minute walk each day. Maybe even go for a run every second day. You don't want to push yourself too much.
You could go to a fitness class once a week with your friends. Make exercise fun!
Good luck.
the quickest and the fastest way to lose weight is go on the cambridge diet - you will have to look it up on the net and find your local counsellor who will take all your measurements etc and body fat mass. Then you go on a programme of drinks, soups and even chocolate bars however its costs about £36.00 per week and this is the only things that you eat and depending on how many calories you need to lose is whether you will be allowed 3 or 4 of these each day

You must stick to it religiously as it really does work and after 3 days you wee on a stick (which they provide) and you can see that your body is now burning fat stage. I lost 10 pounds in 3 wks as it was a crash diet I did 4 my xmas party last year.

Honestly this works only if you stick to it and then if you want to remain on this diet you can eat a light meal after 6 weeks and stay on the drinks/soups/bars but you have to see the counsellor each wk/fortnight to buy your food supply and dont worry because they have all the vitamins etc your body needs.

Good luck and am sure he'll love you anyways oh and if you lose the weight in time remember buy something super sexy cos it will make you feel even better about yourself.

All the best! :o) xxxx
There is a diet called 'Eat Right For Your Blood Type' it is a lifestyle change for most people, but it will give you a balanced diet, while modifying certain foods that you normally eat (for most people). You only need to know your base line blood type ... O, A, B, or AB which you should be able to get right from your doctor's office. I know a girl who went from wearing a size 28 to a six 16 in 3 months on this diet. You don't starve yourself either, you just change the foods you eat in most cases.
This isn't the overnight loose 50 pounds diet either, and it's healthy. Buy the book, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Also, you should exercise. Any time you are trying to firm up and look your best ... just walking quickly can help. Try walking up stairs, instead of taking the elevator and walking that extra block or taking a walk around the neighborhood before and/or after dinner or on your lunch break from work. Drinking green tea and extra water will help you flush out your system too.
Remember you aren't going to loose 20 pounds overnight, but making a few small changes can make a big difference.
Good luck.
The fastest way is to take the alkaline liquid diet.

Fats are nothing more than stored acid. If you continue to take acidic food, even with exercise you cannot get rid of fats. Therefore you must solve the weight problem at the source : eating acidic food. By taking alkaline food, you prevent the intake of acid to create more fats. Besides doing exercise, you must eat only alkaline food.
Read the book "pH miracle for weight loss". See photos of people losing weight at ease. If you want to loose weight super fast, there is an alkaline liquid diet. According the book, people are loosing 10 pounds or more within the first 8 days. Go to the website below to see which food (and even fruits) that are acidic.
If you want to reduce your weight, you need to do a lot of exercise to accelerate your metabolism. It's better if you do cardiovascular exercise, because this kind of exercise helps you burn fat...

You should begin with a good eating plan, combining fats and sweets with fruits and vegetables. It will be better if you drink at least eight glasses of water daily to control your calories and your cholesterol.

If you want you can use some pills to control your weight and to accelerate the process of burning fat.

I know some pills which you can use to reduce your weight. Those pills are Xenical and Hoodia. Their results are excellent and fast.

I wanna broaden my shoulders and enlarge them?

Any exercise I could do in my hotel room?
How about the food or drinks I eat that would help me?
Answers: you will never be able to have very broad shoulders unless you have a large back. you need to first focus on giving yourself that v-shape back by doing exercises such as lat pull downs, pull ups, and all sorts of rows. if you do that your shoulder exercises will become a lot more effective.
I came across this great product for weight loss and it was excellent for me. Together with a good diet and exercise I am finally happy with my body and the way I look. You should check this product at
http://www.easy-diet-fun.us , they have a free trial and you only pay $6.95 shipping and handling. A must!
try push ups
and maybe get some weights
wanna broaden your shoulders and enlarge them you should do some heavy exercises for that... i think that the below website will help you to find the right solution.
to broaden your shoulders you need to work your delts and lats

there are a number of ways to work these muscles... shoulder press, laterals, pull ups etc

best of luck
You're a girl or guy?

For a girl, broad shoulders don't look good on you (you sort of look awkward with broad shoulders) but toned and strong shoulders are a different story - they would dramatically make you appear to have smaller waist, hence accentuate your body shape.

I reckon this shoulder toning routine might be of help to you:

http://www.perfect-body-toning.com/shoul...

You can do it in a hotel room, in your bedroom, hall or in the open field......

Do the routine 3-4 times per week, for 10-15 mins per session.

Food and drinks to increase breadth of shoulders?

I reckon it's really not necessary if you're a girl.

Sorry, if you're a guy, I really don't have any idea how to help you to broaden your shoulders.

But I do know that weight lifting helps. Try with heavier weights. As for food, lots of protein and protein drink would help too.

Is it true that bananas can fatten?how many calories do they have?

Answers: ANY food that is not calorie negative (more calories to digest than it gives) can make you fat.

A calorie is a unit to measure energy. When considering food they are found in carbohydrates; sugar, starch and fiber, fats; all type, solids and oils and proteins, including ammino acids and vitamins. A banana has ALL of these. How many calories? I don't know, how big is the banana? Your body will either store or use a calorie. When its used right away it is fine, when you have to many it is stored. Body fat is your bodies' way to store extra calories.

Any time when you take in more calories than you are using, you can get fat. If you eat a banana or two a day, you are within healthy eating guidelines, assuming the rest of your diet is balanced. If you eat 500 bananas a day, you will have a serious weight issue.

You can gain or loose weight eating any food. However, eating heatlhy things such as bananas in reasonable propotions like 1-2 a day, is generally a better way to eat rather than eating chocolate and fried chicken every day.

Can a banana make you fat? Yes, but bananas are not often the culprit of peoples fat.
Yes, they can.

Bananas have, on average, about 100 calories.

Example: If your body needs 1500 calories to cover all of its basic needs and the energy requirements you have to meet your exercise pattern in one day, then you need to eat /drink 1500 calories in that day to meet your energy needs.

Add a banana and you have an extra 100 calories.

Your body stores energy by converting excess calories to fat, so the extra 100 calories from the banana could make you a little more hip.

When will this "hunger" feeling go away?

I have gained 35 pounds in 3 years and have gotten into the habit of eating all the time. I eat a big breakfast in the morning, a mid morning snack, a high calorie lunch + dessert, a mid afternoon snack, a driving home after work snack, dinner, dessert, an evening snack and a late night before bed snack. I feel like my day revolves around eating and I'm not exaggerating.

I've started a dieting regimen which includes walking daily and cutting back to 1500 calories per day but I'm sooo hungry because I'm used to eating literally all. the. time.

How long until this "hungry" feeling goes away? Its not real hunger, it is phantom hunger because I'm so used to eating a lot. Will it take a few day? weeks? months? Help!!
Answers: Kitty, improving your diet doesn't necessarily mean eating less frequently -- or even eating a smaller volume of food. Although you will need to decrease your overall calorie balance at the end of the day, there are a lot of ways to do this without feeling like you are starving.

The first thing you need to do is take a look at your macro nutrient profile. In other words, how much of your daily food is coming from carbs, protein and/or fat?

Simple carbs, like sugars or highly-refined carbohydrates that you find in most prepared foods will not only leave you feeling empty a short time after eating them, but they also wreck havoc on your blood sugar and metabolism. If you are eating these types of foods, reduce them or get them out of your daily diet althogether.

Replace simple carbs with complex, fiberous carbs like oatmeal, whole grains/100% whole grain breads, whole fruits (not fruit juices) and plenty of fresh vegetables. Oatmeal is a wonder food (so are apples), since it is very filling, burns slowly and had a great fiber profile that can help lower cholesterol and blood pressure.

Also, make sure that you are eating plenty of lean protein. Indeed, never eat a meal that doesn't include a lean protein source. If you eat a carb, always have some protein with it. Good sources include lean chicken breast/turkey, lean beef like sirloin, fish, seafood, egg whites and even a whole egg or two each day. Nuts like almonds, walnuts, and pecans are also excellent sources of protein, fiber, trace minerals and healthy fats.

Which brings me to the last macro-nutrient: fat. For years you've been told to avoid it. Ignore that advice. The trick is to choose healthy, non-saturated fats like olive oil, avocados, nuts, etc. Fat helps you feel satisfied and it also can also help stablize blood sugar and protect your heart.

Finally, make sure that you never try to reduce your overall calorie balance entirely through food. People often try to be overly aggressive at the beginning with their weight loss goals and cut out way too many calories from food. This leaves them hungry, low on energy and ultimately discourages them from sticking with their plan.

So if your goal is to lose a pound of fat a week (a very safe, attainable goal), you need to end the day at 500 calories less than your maintanance level. You could do this by cutting out 500 calories from your diet, or you could cut out 250 calories from food (VERY easy to do with some better choices) and burn the other 250 with exercise.

Make sense?

Best of luck!
use fillers for that uncontrollable hunger like watermelon,cantaloupe.....these contain allot of water and are fillers. You sound like you are making good changes good luck don't give up you can do this.
so glad to hear you went with 1,500. Most people try to starve so they can hurry and get back off of the diet.
A good diet should be a perminate food plan that is like the one you are choosing and you should know there is no end. But when you get to maintenance you may have a treat now and then that is not on the menu.
Then be faithful to your body again to balance things out.
Kool that your changing your lifestyle. I guess my thoughts are firstly, hunger is not a phantom. Just because you think you shouldnt have that feeling means that you can abolish the feeling. It is a primary evolutionary response and we have this 'feeling' for good reason. So dont try and totally will it away.
I think your focus in this scenario should be to keep in mind that you are attempting to change your metabolism. Once this starts to prove effective, you will find that whan eating appropriately and at the right times of the day to sustain your new metabolic rate, you will find that your feelings of hunger will fit more appropriately with what you want and expect for yourself and your body.
In this respect, you may find that it takes several weeks, or at least until you have established solid routines around exercise and eating... ultimately this will be determined by your commitment! Go for it but get a little advice on ballancing Carbo's and Proteins... you need them both but you can identify the healthy types... read heaps of food labels in the supermarket... spend an hour reading labels in the health sections and look around... you will get the idea and if you choose to get more serious... then seek advice from a professional or someone who lives in the gym...lol

15 minute workout? is this pointless or not?

I have just started working out today - i'm in my 20's but about 265 pounds. I use denise austin DVD training system. It has 3 WO's - low, med, high -- but problem is, I can only do up to 15 min. of high kicks and stuff in the low intensity! etc before I am sweating, heart pounding and so tired that I want to just sleep afterward! is 15 really enough or am I wasting my time? When will I be able to do up to the high intense WO? Also, should I be eating my breakfast (oatmeal, pear, orange juice, bacon) before or after the workout? thanks.
Answers: 15 is useful, if you want to loose weight, you should really cut off the refined carbohydrates, it really worked for me, and I usually walk every day a set distance instead of time.
I'm trying to lose weight too and it's sooo hard. My aunt is using a weight loss product and it's really working for her. I'm gonna try it and I recommend you try it too. Check their website at

15 minutes is not enough, but you have to start somewhere. Just keep at it and be patient. It will take time.

Part of the problem may be that you're not accustomed to the feeling (heart pounding, etc.). I'm what you would consider an extreme athlete (Marathons, Ironman, 12 hour bike races), and I've learned that I always feel like crap for the first 20-30 minutes of a workout. Once I've warmed up and got going, the rest of it goes much better.
