Do you prefer the government to give tax relief for membership to fitness centre or gvmt build more fitness facilities to improve the fitness among citizen?
Answers: The following answer is based on the assumption that cost (i.e. money) is the only determining factors that encourage citizens to work hard for thier fitness.

a) Tax relief for membership to fitness centre
Pro
higher income groups who pay tax will benefit from the tax rebate -> exercise more.
Con
lower income groups who pay no/less tax has no/lesser incentives -> exercise less.

b) Government build more fitness facilities
Pro
Everyone will get equal access to the facilities, either for free/a flat nominal rate --> exercise more
Con

So, the conclusion is, probably Government of the United States should provide us all the fitness facilities to motivate us to burn our excessive fat.

As far as health is concerned, the government should help with the cause of obesity, not the relief from it. The food we eat is appauling. It's cheaper to eat fast food than it is to eat healthy food. If the government is going to spend money on making us healthier, it should spend money helping us to eat better.

Need some advice?

i am trying 2 get into shape 2 join the military i need 2 lose 80 lbs and put on some muscle. i just got a membership at 24 hour fitness i just wondering what exercises should i do and any other advise u could give me would be helpful

Answers: Start slow. You should be proud of yourself. Ask for assistance at the fitness center. You can ask for a consultation without it usually costing.

I cant seem to be motivated to run unless I have an ipod with me. My ipod is broken. What now?

This is a silly question.
But music motivates me to run more and actually stick to it.
Now my ipod is completely dead. What now ?

Answers: buy a new iPod, if its what motivates you to stay in shape then, its worth it. Nothing is more important thatn your health.
Try borrowing a friend's , or a siblings (if you have any, and they have an ipod or mp3 palyer) or, if it comes down too it, use a treadmill, bring a stereo around where your treadmill is and put in a CD. I run every night and I can't do it without music either. If none of that works, then you'll have to break down and buy a new one, or find a cheap mp3 player to use when you run.

Is it normal for leg muscles to be sore 4 days after the workout?

I went to the gym 4 days ago and worked my legs with weights. It was the first I had been to the gym in 8 weeks because I was busy taking care of my sick father.

At the gym I tried to do lighter weight since I had not been in so long. But now, 4 days later my legs are still hurting so bad! Is this normal?
Answers: no, you may have strained them if you hadn't stretched properly before lifting. I am in the weight room every day for about 45 minutes and it is important to stretch. I was doing just my upper body for a while and decided to work my legs as well, so right now I'm lifting about 160 with my legs. It's also a good idea to lift in sets, do maybe 5 reps and take a 30 second break. repeat this process about 3 times. The first couple times I started lifting I was sore for days, but you get used to it, and with the right warm up you shouldn't be sore for long.
It is normal.

Your muscles can be sore for up to a week after a workout.

How to do situps at home?

cause like i usually need someone to step on my foot or something and i wanna do it alone. Wish i had a machine or that spec ial thing they have at gyms, any ideas?
Answers: Try not to have anyone stand on your feet, this reduces the opportunity for you to "cheat" and use muscles that are not the primary target of the exercise (e.g. front of hip and thigh muscles). Instead, hook/interlock legs with your partner or hook your legs around a chair as already suggested by others.

Are you getting any lower back muscle activity/fatigue happening when you perform sit-ups? If so, you might be doing them incorrectly or have very weak abdominals or both. Either way this can increase risk of back pain & injury.

Start by lying on the floor with the knee's bent, and hip width apart. Curl your chest towards your hips so your shoulder blades are no longer on the floor (most common technique error. not doing so places great stress on lower abs and increase risk of injury.). Avoid using your neck to achieve this as it reduces neck injury chances. After curling movement, sit up until just before sitting straight up to keep tension on the muslces. Return to floor and starting position slowly. Aim for each repetition to take 3secs (up & down = 1rep) and 2 to 3 lots of 10 to 30repetitions. Once 30reps is reached place a small weight across chest.

As for equipment a Gym/Swiss ball and some dumbbells will be cheap and effective (and only costs approx $10 -$50AUS depending on quality), especially when machines and gym memberships will cost hundreds of dollars.

Extra note. If your goals is to have a six pack, you will need to carefully monitor your diet and do cardiovascular training (e.g. Swimming, running, walking, cycling, sport) as well.
put ur feet under like the edge of a couch...also you can lay on your back....hold your feet parrelel but in the ari then go up like a situp...but bend your neese toward you....and do that as many times as you do situps....

Does eating breakfast have an effect on a student in school?

Answers: Breakfast will give your body the energy it needs until that mid morning snack/lunch remember breakfast is to break your fasting from the night before so make sure you have a well balanced breakfast every morning with a food from each food group (breads and cereals, dairy, meat, veges, fruit and a handful of unsalted nuts like almonds or macadamias.
And yes breakfast will have a good effect on a student especially teens so eat up!
It's a well-established fact that children who are hungry and under-energized have less attention span and less ability to perform on school tasks.

Answers: Dude...You aren't fat. I don't even have to look at you, and I can tell you you aren't fat. I'm a half-inch shorter than you and one year older. I weigh more (though I don't look it...honestly!) than you. You shouldn't feel like you're fat just because there are other girls out there that are skinnier than you. That's just 'cause they're either anorexic or they were just made that way. If you want, you can tone it and tighten it so it won't feel "jiggly" as I imagine that's what you feel. Try doing some stomach crunches (which will tighten the abs) and some squats (which will tighten your butt). But really, you don't need to lose anything. If it would make you feel better, go make some fat friends. ^_^

I agree, you're really not that fat. I'm 5'6 15 years old and I weigh 120, all my friends think I'm anorexic. So you can't be that fat.

If you just want to lose a couple pounds, then yeah, I'd just eat really healthy and excercise.

Im 5'8, A boy, and i weigh 125. I do not consider myself fat, although I do have a little fat on my stomach. You arent that overweight. Sure youre a little overweight but your not huge. 10 pounds overweight isnt HUGE....

I'm older than you are...dont ask me how much.....and I'd love to lose 15lbs to get to your weight. I'm 5'4 and i have to admit that i'd be pretty damn smokin HOT at your weight!!

Don't waste time obsessing about what you look like on the outside.....make yourself better on the inside....it's all that matters!
eat slowly, because hunger is really just because you're blood sugars low, not because your stomache is empty, and it take about 15 minutes to feel full even when you've eaten enough
don't eat when you WANT to, eat when you HAVE to because your starving, and dont stop when your FULL, but when you're just.. not starving anymore.

and purposfully starving yourself is not good.
If you live like 5 five minutes away from a store, walk there don't drive, same with school. if you CAN walk, Do walk, basicaly.
Some people actually gain/lose weight more easily then others, for excample, I spend alot of time sitting around and eating junk food, but i don't even wiehgt 90 yet and i'm 14, and my little sister is bigger then me and she does alot of sports.

Hungry all the time!?

I cant stop being hungry! im not overweight at all, but even if i eat a full meal, i still feel like i haven't eaten anything all day. like you know when your really really hungry and its the worst feeling? it wont go away for me no matter how much i eat.

Answers: Maybe you have like 10 stomachs.
You probably just have a really fast metabolism. Eat food with a low glycaemic index (GI) so they give you a feeling of being full for longer... maybe that will help. If you are really concerned, you should see a doctor, just to make sure everything is ok.

not too expensive, and they leave your cheeks thin and bring out your bone structure.

Answers: wow and it doesnt hurt? Its a mind thing. If it has been going on for a while talk to a theapist about it. Maybe they can tap into what is causing it. If it was something that you put in your mouth you can put nasty taste stuff on it but this...well its in your mouth already
try wearing a mouth guard to help stop biting tongue
also can try keeping teeth lightly clenched
Sounds like you have a problem with anxiety or some nervous disorder.Biting you tongue is not the problem...it's a symptom of something you need to work on.Talk to a parent or someone you trust to help guide you for help..good luck.
