Diet Fitness Questions and Answers

Do i have mucle or fat tissue ? I think i mostly likely have muscle , deatils inside , which is it?

ok , im 15 years old and i am active somewhat throughout the day . Im 5'5" and weigh 115 lbs , but i think i look more like 100-105lbs because i look kind of thin to weigh that much , and my friend guessed i weigh about a 100lbs also . I wear a size 1 and my cousin who is just 5lbs heavier than me wears a 5 .(she is the same height) I can also eat and consume large amounts of foods/calories and not gain any weight . (i do gain like 1-2lbs but its water weight and goes away in like 2-3days).
also when i flex my stomach and legs muscles i feel really hard muscle tissue and its very solid , there is a thin layer of fat on top of that , but not alot , just a small amount . Also when im walking and as i walk i can feel the muscle tisse in my legs . but my legs dont look muscular , so im not sure if this is muscle or fat tissue / what do you think?
Answers: i think it is muscle tissue.
You have great muscle tone without being muscular.* Muscle is actually heavier & weighs more than Fat. Looking great.*

Should I Get Lipo?

So, I just ran into some money and Im thinking about lipo. Im not truly fat or anything but I could stand to shed a few pounds. I am not really a patient person and I like instant results. I would like to start going to the gym but if i got lipo first a think i would be more motivated due to the fact that the big part is over. What do you think?
Answers: I personally think lipo is pointless because unless you change your eating patterns, the weight has a strong tendancey to jump back on. Even with the best intentions, there will be those stressful days and nights that cause your body to beg for it's comfort food, and if you haven't learned to say no by losing weight in a natural way, it will be extremely difficult to say no at that time.
My suggestion: Join a weight loss group online or a program like weight watchers to keep you motivated and accountable, and shed those pounds in a way that will make you proud of your accomplishments. Then use the money to treat yourself to something special, like a vacation to the tropics to show off your new body, beach style! I wish you the best, whichever option your decide upon.
You may as well save the money if its only a few pounds and loose them yourself. Reason is as soon as you come back from lypo, you will pile them back on again. You need to be able to maintain a lifestyle that prevents the pounds piling on in the first place, not ad hoc panic mode when the do appear.

Whats a good way to cleanse your body of toxins?

Answers: Figure to spend a week eating lots of raw veggies and whole grains. Stop all sugar, white flour and caffeine during this process. When you get up in the morning, have a cup of hot water with the juice of a lemon and some honey.

You can find a commercial cleansing product or make one yourself. Psyllium seeds and some kind of probiotic from a health food store will also help to clear out your intestinal tract. The probiotics will put back all the good bacteria that any rounds of antibiotics have killed.
I was just reading on this thing called colonix. There is a website that you can go to and read testimonials and it even has pictures of the things that came out of people, I warn you, its sort of graphic. Some say they even lost weight due to the cleansing, experienced clearer skin as well. Our colons hold a lot of toxins. I am thinking of buying it myself. The cheaper version would be to cut out ALL processed foods and meat eating nothing but fruits and veggies for a period of time to allow your body to take a break from animal fats and all of the preservatives that cause us to have built up yeast and parasites in our intestines. They also have something for the liver as well.
I have gone for actual colonics (they flush water into your rectum to cleanse the bowel) but I didn't find it to be effective.
Drink lots of water and eat a lot of fiber-rich foods (like whole grains, fruits, and veggies). Both have cleansing properties.

Do you think I'm fat?

I am 5 feet and 2 inches tall so i'm pretty short. I'm 15 years old and I weigh about 146 pounds? But i think most of it is muscle from swim team but I feel heavy. Any workout advice? tell me if i'm fat or not and BE HONEST I won't get my feelings hurt thanx...
Answers: you bmi is 26.7. which is at risk of becoming over weight. (I'm only 5'1 if that makes you feel taller lol) but i do think you should consider losing weight. it would make you feel much better, both physically and mentally.

there are lots of videos on youtube that show you how to do exercizes and eat healthy. join youtube and sunscibe to fordmodels, diethealth and fitness factor. you'll be able to find exercizes that you find enjoyable.

avoid high calorie foods like bread, peanut butter, fast food ect. instead eat low calorie foods like carrots, grape fruit, broccoli, ect.
It's hard to tell if it's muscle or fat without seeing a picture of you...

If you want to lose weight, you need to focus on exercises that won't build muscle fat but that will keep you fit... like walking for example.
Why do you care what people on the internet (who can't see you to actually tell if you look fat) think?
Talk to your coach. You should not be doing any workouts beyond what your coach advises or you will hurt yourself.
Your coach has a degree and is specially trained AND has motivation to see you become a good athlete. So why are you asking advice from housewives, teenagers and random other people on the net?
Try this link. Put in the cooresponding information and it will tell you your personal BMI (body mass index) and will tell you what percentile of weight u are in. I will look it up for you but will also give you this link so you can always know whether you are in the proper weight range.

I see that your results are...

A 15 year old (female) child
who is 146 pounds
and is 5 feet and 2 inches tall has
a body mass index of 26.8,

which is at the 93th percentile,

and would indicate that your child is at risk of becoming overweight.

here is the link so you can check it for yourself.

I really hope this helps!

Will this help me beat my plateau effect?

i've been working out and dieting for the last 7 months and have lost 30 lbs and just have around 10 more to go but for the last month the weight just hasn't been dropping off so I've figured that I've hit a plateau in my routine and diet

so my question is should I abandon my diet and just eat a load of junk food to wake up my metabolism and get back to fat burning?

if not

what is the best way to get rid of this inability to lose?
Answers: NO!! Don't do it! Check what you are eating and when - it's easy to become a little complacent and not notice bad habits creeping back in. If you are doing everything right then stick with it - you've done fantastically and you will get past this. Good Luck!

Whats a workout and exercise diets?

id love to work out and eat right. plz give tips and diet programs.id really appericate it

thanks if answer
Answers: You can join a dance class which is a fun way to lose weight it worked for me and the people on dancing with the stars. Alos try to lower you calories. Look on your boxes or packages or whatever you eat and count the calories you should eat anywhere form 1200 to 1500 a day start at 1500 and work your way down as the weight drops. You will lose alot the first two weeks cuz of water weight especially with simple exercising like jumping jacks, running perhaps joining a sport you like, And you can just do streches. Whatever you like. But the calories are most important and exercising is for the better faster results.
run a lot

Stronger muscles?

so im on the wrestling team and i am pretty fit (11% body fat, 135 pounds) and i have been going to the gym for the past year almost every other day. I have gotten in better shape but my strength hasnt really improved. How can i get stronger triceps, biceps, forearms, chest, and legs? Do i do lots of reps with light weights or few reps with heavy weights?
Answers: Will, to increase strength, you need to be training in the lower end of the rep range. You should be using an amount of weight that causes you to fail at between six and ten reps. This is actually the optimum range for both strength and hypertrophy (size.)

Make sure you are keeping a detailed training log and write down each exercise you perform, the weight you used, how many reps and how many sets. I would aim for no more than 3 working sets for each exercise, with the first set being a light, warm-up set.

The trick here is to progressively challenge yourself each workout to do a little more, whether that's another rep, a little more weight or an additional set. Never settle for the same performance from a workout. This is why it's so important to record your workouts and track your progress.

For example, let's say you are currently curling 25 pounds for six reps. Next workout, try to get seven reps. Once you hit ten reps, up the weight by five pounds, knowing that you will likely only be able to do six to eight reps. This is how you make progress and gain strength and size.

Best of luck!
that means you barely lift eat eggs and more steak

Honestly, guys, what do you think?

I'm 15 years old. I'm medium height and about 165 lbs. I wouldn't consider myself FAT...I just have a bigger stomach. (I'd consider myself chubby, I guess.) I like to lift weights for fun.

My question, I guess, is would you consider me unattractive? When I gain weight, I gain it in my stomach. So I have a lot of fat in that area, which makes me look bad (I think so, anyway). And is it weird that I like to lift? I don't have huge muscles, or anything.
Answers: Attraction is actually a combonation of things: appearance, attitude, and character. It is not weird that you like to lift. I like to lift too. I like to look and feel good.
It's OK to be concerned about your appearance but you should cherish your health as well by not eating fattening fast foods and lots of sugar.
I think I don't care.

If you were my granddaughter, I would tell you to keep lifting, but don't neglect your cardiovascular system. Go out for sports at school. Mom, Dad, and Grandpa like nothing better than going to high school sporting events and cheering for the kids. When we're not competing ourselves.
it's okay to eat, as long as you excercise.

if you like to lift, use lower weights and higher number of reps.

do lots of situps, crunches, etc.

I'm sure you're lovely, but most people (guys and gals) don't like a belly that can be trimmer with proper care.

Good luck with everything!!

What intence cardio can i do in a small amount of space?

i have 3lb dumbells and a smal amount of space.
Answers: You should give squat/thrusts a try. You start from a standing position with the dumbbells in your hands and squat down to the floor. From here, supporting your upper body on the dumbbells, kick your legs back to a push up position. Tuck your legs back in and stand up. Try this for 30 seconds on and 1 minute off for about 20 minutes. It'll definitely get your heart racing. You can also do it without the weights to make it a little easier.
Jump rope. It is really intense, but will probably get you in great shape faster than anything. If you don't have a rope jump up and down or do jumping jacks until you're in shape. In fact that isn't a bad idea. Excuse me while I do some jumping jacks.

Why is the Lemonade Diet not working for me?

This is my second day on the Lemonade Detox, and so far- I have not had to go to the bathroom except to pee. I have had no bowel movements others say you're supposed to have. I am drinking Detox Tea every night and I feel nothing - I feel no effect what so ever. I mixed the Lemonade correctly- with the Grade B Maple syrup, and real lemon juice. Why is this not working for me? I am 25, 5 11 and am overweight at 235 lbs. I would only like answers pertaining to what I asked- so please, no "Lemonade diets dont work- only excercise and healthy food". I dont need to hear that crap. After the 10 day detox, Im moving on to healthy food and excercise. But I want to know why I havent felt a difference? I thought by drinking the lemonade and tea, your body was supposed to "rid" itself of toxins and what not. My body hasnt done any of that.
Answers: The reason you aren't having a bowel movement is because there is nothing for your bowels to move. Liquid gets directed to your bladder mostly. The little that is left over with the food, gets used up in your colon so you can have an easy movement (as opposed to rough and difficult to pass). Your body is also getting rid of toxins when you pee. Not just when you pass stool. If anything it may end up giving you diarrhea in the end because the liquid that is collecting in your colon will eventually come out.
I'm not going to lecture, because it is obvious you don't want one (and really who does), however let me just say this. On day 10 when you go back to eating, eat slowly and small amounts at first. You may give you a stomach ache if you start eating normally again right away. So start off with light things in small amounts and be careful.
"Lemonade diets dont work- only excercise and healthy food".

"When life hands you lemons, go on a bogus lemonade diet"

Weight loss?

I have 6 months and I would like to lose 10-20 lbs. Is this possible? How much weight can you lose in a month? I have a pretty hectic schedule, so, what are some excercises I can do on a daily basis that can help me achieve my goal? Any advice would be great.
Answers: To lose the wieght you need that time is plenty. Average sensible weight loss of 2LB per week will take you 10 weeks to lose 20lb.
Ignore all the "diet" talk, it's unhealthy. I was told by the nurse at my GP's that I knew what I should be eating, go home and do it!
It's working! I have lost 8lb in four weeks by cutting out the rubbish in between meals, and eating healthy foods in sensible portions. Sounds simple? It is....... and I've tried every diet going previously.
Best of luck to you - anyone who'se lost weight knows it isn't easy - but you've made the biggest step by wanting to!
