Most effective way to lose body Fat?
I read lots of good stuff about high intensity cardio with intervals and circuit workouts. Which one would be better for fat burning?Answers: Q: When does one actually burn fat? I heard that fat isn't burned until 20 minutes into a cardio activity. My friend says fat is only burned when you exercise on an empty stomach. What's the deal?
A: The answer to this question has eluded so many of us for so long because there are a lot theories circulating about fat and how it's used as fuel. Adding to this is the fact that there have been hundreds, perhaps thousands, of studies that conclude slightly different things.
To begin, let's make one point clear: Your body burns energy (or calories) just by existing. Even when you are sleeping, you're burning calories. Some scientists report a 50/50 fat-to-carbohydrate ratio, meaning half of the calories you burn at rest come from fat that you've eaten recently, and the other half come from carbs; others claim it's a 25/75 split. Both figures can be correct depending on the person, making the metabolizing of energy a very individual thing. So I can't tell you what's going on with your body, personally, but I can tell you that some of the fat you ate at lunch today will be burned tonight, even when you are not exercising.
The real question is: "When are we burning stored fat?" Stored fat is any extra girth that's settled onto your hips, thighs and belly — the stuff you want to get rid of when you're trying to lose weight. Fat is not entirely evil: It helps your body absorb nutrients and provides lubrication for your joints. But, as we all know, it can be undesirable, especially when it comes in the form of love handles, saddlebags and jiggly underarms. Cardiovascular exercise can burn stored fat, and there are two main ways.
The first method is to do some aerobic exercise when you haven't eaten for eight to 12 hours — upon waking in the morning, for instance. A workout at this time burns more stored body fat that at any other time of day because, since you haven't eaten in so long, your body does not have any glycogen (available carbohydrates) in the system to burn. Therefore, to get the energy it needs for your workout, your body taps more directly into the fat stores. (Warning: If you suffer from hypoglycemia or have diabetes, exercising on an empty stomach is not recommended.) A substantial downside to exercising without any fuel in your belly is that it can be uncomfortable due to hunger pains and lethargy. In my 16-plus years as a fit-pro, I've never encouraged a client to exercise on an empty stomach. It makes working out no fun!
The other, better way to burn stored fat is to do an aerobic activity for a substantial amount of time. Fat burning really kicks into gear approximately 30 minutes into a cardio workout — after your body has used up all of the sugar in the bloodstream that's present after you eat — and turns to fat as a fuel source. This is why most fat-burning workout DVDs and classes are at least 45 minutes long. It's also why doctors recommend power walking for those needing to lose weight — power walking provides a steady cardiovascular workout that's easy to sustain.
Finally, if you want to burn more fat, you should also work on building more muscle. Research shows that the more muscle mass you have, the faster your metabolism gets; because muscle is a denser tissue than fat, it consumes more fuel during both activity and rest. So strength training can help you burn more fat, more easily, in the long run. Make sure to incorporate it into your workout regimen.

Protein shakes , are they all the same just different brand ?
1)Are they all the same apart of soy and whey protein ?2)Are there any bad ingredients I should look for in the description of the product?
3) To be fit I do swimming 3 time a week. How often to do you have to consume protein shake a week ?
Answers: 1) for the most part, yes, they all have the same function. Some supplements are more than just protein, but if you refer to pure soy or whey protein they are pretty much the same. Some minor differences in solubility and bioavailablity (how goog the body absorbs them) might be seen due to the composition of these, but honestly the differences are so minor that they will not make significant differences. I assume your purpose of taking protein is to gain muscle since this is why most people do it, and for that purpose, both whey and soy will do.
2) again, if youre taking pure protein then you shouldnt find any weird ingredients, but if your taking a supplement that contains protein in addition to other things just watch for things that sound like "andro" or androstaneidone or anything like that, for the most part these are found in other type of supplements and not protein shakes.
3) You dont have to consume protein shakes at any rate as long as your eating well enough and getting about 0.8g or protein per kilogram of body weight.
protein shakes are many time mistakenly consumed thinking they will do wonders for you like getting ripped or stuff like that, but the truth is that they just help you get the protein that you need throughout the day.
in other words, if you dont wanna do the math to figure out how much protein you take, it would be a safe bet to get a protein shake a day or every other day. A little excess will not hurt you anyway.
Quick simple question?
i have been meaning the ask this question for ages. i wont actually do this i am just curious...if i ate one kilo of sugar would i put on one kilo of body fat?
Answers: No. You would probably just get very drowsy. Unless your diabetic. In which case you will die.

Does the slimming waist band really trim your waist while you work out?
Answers: No. Absolutely not. I'm sure other people have said the same thing, but you CANNOT spot reduce. You have to lose all-over body weight. Sliming waist bands are simply um, a "waist" of money.
no,
its a lie to get you to use it.
No, any item like that is just a con to get your money, regular excercise , without all these exspensive gadgets, etc... will do the same thing they claim to do, without costing you a penny
if there was a product that made losing weight easy, the diet industry wouldnt be a billion dollar industry.
no substitute for exercise and healthy eats.

Do you think I'm fat?
I'm 15, 120 lbs, double D's, a bit of a belly and I guess lovehandles :(what do you think of my body/weight? am I overweight? do you think guys would be attracted or no? just be honest, my feelings won't be hurt and I'm not going to go anorexic on you, I just want to know if I should lose maybe 10 lbs or something.
Answers: do you look like this girl?
http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e181/c...
then no....you're not fat!
Honestly, you don't sound bad. I am a guy (13 yrs).People need to understand that you don't need to be super skinny to be beautiful...you could be really pretty, and a lot of guys out there like a girl who isn't a stick. So if you want to lose weight, you can, but there's nothing wrong with not being stick-thin.Lots of guys probably like you!
Good Luck!
Peter
you are not "overweight"
you have a body mass index of 23.5 which puts you at the 82th percentile...
You don't say how tall you are, but it's up to you and how you feel if you should lose 10lbs or not.
As for will guys be attracted...trust me, there are MANY men/guys who prefer larger women, they are out there, you have to be happy with yourself to show confidence. That is what is attractive, how good you feel about yourself and that you like yourself no matter what.
You're still okay at 120lb. I don't think of you as overweight.
I'm 5ft2 and 125lb.
Weight Loss help?
what are some easy or fast result ways to get rid of a "mushroom top' or the fat that hangs over your jeans in the back? Also do crunches actually make your stomach small not just your abs but your belly button and bellow fat? I need to know because I'm trying to lose weight fast before next year.Answers: 90% of your weight loss will be due to your diet. And by diet I mean your caloric intake, and not the new slim fad at Walgreens. You're trying to zero in on an area of the body that can't really be segregated. So you need to focus on what you eat first.
Eat a healthy balanced breakfast, then a snack in between meas. The snack should be fresch fruits, veggies, nuts, yogurts...etc...the meals(Breakfast lunch and dinner) should only be about the size you palm with you hand wide open.
You have to support your intake with lots of water. There are many methods and theories; however the most effective method is to weigh yourself in the morning, and drink half of your body weight throughout the day in ounces. Your body can only digest 8 ounces per hour, so anything in excess will go to remove fatty tissue, and helping the skin shrink down.
For the area you wanna shrink down, you should do an aerobic workout 2-3x's per week for 45minutes only! use ten minutes in the beginning to warmn up, and the last 5 for a cool down. That's a one hour workout. Then find a yoga, or long distance walks or jog(at safe speeds) to push you further.
The issue with burning fat is that; the fat is first burned at the last place you gained it. You if you've had muffin tops fora long time it will take a while to burn it off. The good thing is ~ that bythe time to finish off the M/T the rest of your body will look fantastic, and ready for the swimsuit season!
Best of luck, and stay motivated!
well you could try doing gentle running bulid it up start of doing slow 10 mins then fast and so on
do sit ups for 30 sec then crunches for 30 sec
do this 5 times
stick to healthy, try one sugary fatty snack a day, snack on rasins, fruit and dried mango
have a smoothies for breakfast
and for lunch go for a salad with chicken/meat/tofu/pulses
dinner i would try one meat 3 veg nothing fried, battered just oven cooked
good luck

It's really quite simple; there are only two things you need do to reach your goals:
1. Restrict daily calories to 1600 calories per day. By increasing the amount of fruits and vegetables you eat, you will be able to keep your intake at this level without feeling hungry or uncomfortable.
2. Exercise for one hour a day, every single day. It can be anything from pilates to just plain walking, but do it. One hour. Every day.
This is a pretty simple recipe for weight loss, but it works. It has worked for me; I have lost 62 pounds this way. It will work for you if you commit to it and stick to it. You can easily lose all the weight you wish within a year's time.
Good luck!

I am going to be in a big dance competition in exactly 74 days. And I am a fattie right now. I have t oget into great sexy shape for this semi revealing costume. Is that enoug htime?!

Is eating only a bowl of cereal bad?
i only eat cereal and excersize for 2 hours a dayis this bad. i want to see quick results
Answers: it's awful. You need a balanced diet. You are getting very little protein, for example, and if you don't start getting more protein, you will start losing your hair. That's attractive, right? If you really want to lose weight, and keep it off effectively, try to get more balance. You have all the bad carbs in a bowl of cereal. Eat fruits, veggies, and have supplemental protein shakes at the very least. Try seeing a dietitian to get an idea of what is the perfect diet for you. This is about maintaining too, right? So you need to make permanent lifestyle changes. I went to a dietitian 2 times, got on a new routine and have lost 100 lbs in the last 18 months. I exercise 5 times a week. Good luck, be smart and do it right to avoid long-term negative effects..
you will probably lose 5-15 pounds the first week (depending on whether or not you really have signifigant amount of weight to lose)
it is "bad" as in it is not healthy...
and if you are looking for quick results, say you have a party next week, you can look slimmer but after week two or three on the same diet, you will plateau
and if you resume a normal diet again, it will all come back
well it kinda is, dont starve ureself, if ure hungry then eat, if it fills u up then its fine and plus im sure ure bodys great so dont go 2 far
If im 5'2 and weight 120 is that normal or am i fat?
Answers: You're ok. You're neither skinny nor fat. But still I need to see your picture to tell tho. It's possible that your belly weighs 100 pounds and the rest of your body weighs 20 pounds.
I went online and did your bmi for you,
and it says you're at 21.9
The numbers go as this...
* Underweight = <18.5
* Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
* Overweight = 25-29.9
* Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater
According to that, you're at a healthy weight. If you're young, don't kill yourself over the numbers. Each day try to eat as much healthy stuff as you can and workout a lot.
Best of luck xoxo
What "they" (and I want to know who *they* are!) say is that you take 100# as your base and then 5 pounds for every inch after that, that will put you at 10 pounds overweight....that's all bulls*it though...you are at a fine weight. Also you could go to the following url and see a chart where you could measure your weight/height...you will see that your weight is totally normal. If you feel and look good, that's all that counts (and what's in your heart).
Good luck!
You need to get a chart of Body Mass Ratio. Probably if you put those 3 words into a search engine like Google, it will show you where you can get one. If you are really worried see the doc or nurse at your local surgery.
I would think you are normal, as far as normal goes. If you eat proper, exercise well and are an active individual, both mentally and physically, I would say you are fine.
Yes, it's perfectly normal.
Abs???
who do i get abs (meaning showing them) fastAnswers: To show them...You'll need to get your body fat percentage down to about 10%...The layer of fat is covering your six pack...so the way to get rid of that is by combining Diet & Exercise!! What you should do is:
1.) Do high intensity cardio for an hour a day/daily! Try jogging for a half-hour, then do kickboxing (Tae Bo) for the other half...Tae Bo is awesome for targeting the midsection, and will provide quick results...I should know because I do kickboxing four times a week!
2.) Ab exercises...The crunch, the reverse crunch, the plank, the bicycle exercise...All these are excellent ab exercises that will help you flatten and tone your ab region....To see a list of the most effective ab exercises, click below:
http://sportsmedicine.about.com/od/besta...
Your abs are currently hidden by a layer of fat. To lose that fat, you need aerobic exercise. Running, swimming, playing basketball, anything that gets your heart racing. So add aerobic exercise to your daily routine, and eat a healthier diet.
Sit ups and crunches will make your abs stronger, but that won't do you much good if you can't see them behind all the fat.
The best exercise to tighten those lower abs would be flutter kicks. Lay on your back, legs straight out in front of you, raise them 4-6 inches off the ground hold them for 30seconds to a minute;depending on your level do 3 to 4 sets gradually increasing the time. You can also "flutter" them; move them up and down(like walking in the air) In order to get the best results, it would be better to work all of your abs and your whole body. If you work just one part of your body that part may get somewhat stronger/more toned, but you won't have the results you would if you worked the whole body.
.
There are many tablets you can buy on the net, don't waste your time.
Or faddy diets that say things like "boil Lentils and eat them after midnight as that when your abs are building strength"
The secret is special exercises that anyone can do (forget thousands of situps!)
Full details of the techniques can be found at http://www.absbomb.com

Should I trust that small blood test??
the other day I went to a big supermarket and this has a pharmacy. I noticed that they were doing free tests for cholesterol and sugar. I always had wonder about my levels and since I dont have the money to go to a doctor and order some tests and to pay for those tests, I went a head and took that test.the results were:
total glucose: 85
total cholesterol: 181
blood pressure: 107/79
is that within the normal range?
if so, how is that possible??
I consider myself above the weight limit.
is it possible that not drinking carbonated drinks, that my food is cooked with pam, that I eat lots of veggies and drink lots of water is the reason for those results??
I would really appreciate it if any one can explain more
thanks
Answers: Frankly, a person could weight 300 lbs and still have normal results. A person's weight or size does not determine if they will have high cholesterol or not. Diet does play a part in the results, as well as generics, exercise, and over all life style. Although the results look good you may still wish to have it followed up by your doctor. I am sure this is not a fasting result if you just happened to stop in while out shopping, but the results look good for that as well.
They should have told you there. What kind of free blood test is this anyway. I am OUTRAGED!!!! You can't even get a decent free blood test these days. Man I am so fed up with bad free blood test. They give you a bunch of numbers and send you on your way like a ship in a storm. I would go back and demand your free back. If they don't give it back I suggest you ask to talk to a manager. If that doesn't work I suggest you take them to very small claims court. That will fix their wagon.
