How do i tone my legs and get more definition?

my upper body is defined but how do i tone and define my upper and lower legs?
Answers: 3 tried and true methods: 1. Speed Walking, 2. Pedal Bike riding, 3. Swimming

Do these regularly and you should notice a difference within a month. (Regularly 3-5 times a week for at least an hour each time.) Plus they are all inexpensive methods.
Some people swear by lunges for thighs, but I get the best results with squats. Especially plie' squats. Feet shoulder width apart and pointing outward. Squat until your thighs are parallel with the floor. Three sets of 15. I hold a ten pound weight while I do them. Since I started them, my quads have really become defined.

You should also do some exercises for your hamstrings to keep things balanced. I like hamstring curls. Balance yourself against a wall or something. Lift your leg out straight in back of you at about a 45 degree angle and curl your lower leg up by bending your knee. You can use ankle weights while doing these.

Lower legs. I assume you mean your gastrocnemius. Stand with your toes on a piece of a 2x4 and heels on the floor. Lift up and down, standing on tiptoe and back down to your heels. You can do this with or without weights, standing on both feet or one at a time.
you should try walking and doing lunges everyday, those really work...

What's a good vitamin?

I've tried so many and seems most come right out in my pee.
Answers: Your body will use what it needs and remove what it doesn't.
If you have a good overall diet then you will not need to take supliments. As stated above, a good all round multi vitamin and mineral suppliment is rarely a bad thing to take.
ALL vitamines are good,
our bodies need all kinds of vitamines and minerals to be healthy.
if you wanna take any, take a "multivitamin plus minerals".

Lunch: stirfry of spinach, one tomato, and a zuichini wrapped in lettuce
Snack: Apple with two tablespoons of yogurt
Dinner: peice of bread with cream cheese on top
desert: two ounces of red wine
Answers: well i think u need to increase yor diet a bit more.u r not eating enough.if u r in fear of gaining weight if taking more food which u r already taking then try taking some multi vitamins & calcium tablets with a doctor's advice.
you need about 1500 calories for your body to function properly and get all the nutrients it needs to survive, Add some protein, meat, fish, turkey, chicken to your lunch and to your dinner. For dinner, you need to have a complete meal, not just a peace of bread, what kind of dinner is that? You need protein, carbs and some fats.

What is the best way to loose facial fat? (cheeks and such)?

What kind of work out ?
Answers: When we want to get rid of body fat, there is no way to specifically burn fat from one part of the body. Doing situps won't burn the fat that is covering your abs and doing tricep extensions won't get rid of the fat that is covering your triceps. The only thing you can do is lose weight all around and eventually the problem area will also improve. The way to burn fat is through a calorie restricted diet in conjunction with an exercise routine that will burn calories. Activities that burn calories include running, biking, swimming and other high intensity activities.

* Take one pound at a time
Don’t get overwhelmed by how much weight you need to lose. Try to remember that "losing 15 pounds in two weeks" is nothing to celebrate. It is important to realize that the more quickly weight is lost, the more likely the loss is coming from water and muscle, not fat.

Since muscle tissue is critical in keeping our metabolism elevated, losing it actually leads to a decrease in the amount of calories we can each day without gaining weight.

Fat loss is best achieved when weight is lost slowly. Strive for a weight loss of no more than 3-4 pounds per week. One pound of weight is equivalent to 3500 calories.

* Set Reachable Goals
For instance, if you know you need to get more exercise, begin with a manageable goal of, say, walking 10 minutes a day that you know you can achieve. Then build your self-esteem by achieving the small goals you set yourself.

The same logic applies for losing weight.

* Stay off the scales
Don’t get discouraged when your progress seems to be slow according to your bathroom scales. They do not provide a true measure of what is going on with the body.

If exercise levels are adequate (5-7 days a week), you may be putting on muscle but losing fat, thus losing inches even if you are not losing pounds. It's always a good idea to do several body measurements to have a second objective way to monitor progress.

* Stay focused on being healthy, not thin
# Many people become more successful at long term weight loss when their motive changes from wanting to be thinner to wanting to be healthier. Change your mindset to think about selecting foods that will help your body's health rather than worrying about foods that will affect your body's weight. The Food Pyramid offers a basic outline of the types and amounts of food you should eat each day to give your body the nutrients it needs for optimal health.

* Fat Free?
We've known for some time that limiting high fat foods in the diet can be helpful with weight loss. That's because fats pack in 9 calories per gram compared to only 4 calories per gram from proteins or carbohydrates. To many, the message to limit fats implied an endorsement to eat unlimited amounts of fat-free products. Just to clarify, fat-free foods have calories too. In some cases fat-free foods have as many calories as their fat laden counterparts. If you eat more calories than your body uses, you will gain weight. Eating less fat will help you to lose weight. Eating less fat and replacing it with excessive amounts of fat-free products will not.

* Drink plenty of water
Drink eight glasses a day. Water is a natural appetite-suppressant. Nettle tea is a great weight-loss tea as it supports metabolism and has diuretic properties.

* Reward yourself
# Each time you reach a goal, such as losing 5 pounds, reward yourself with a gift or a massage.

* Seek help if you need it
# A big key in long term weight control comes from receiving encouragement and support from others. Find a friend to lose weight with or you can check to see if groups such as Weight Watchers, or eDiets offer programs and resources in your area by clicking the links. You may also wish to check with your local hospital to see if their registered dietician conducts group weight loss programs.

* Watch your portions
With the advent of "supersize" meals and increasingly huge portions at restaurants, our concept of normal serving sizes is a distant memory. Be mindful of the amounts of food you consume at a sitting. When necessary, divide your food in half and ask for a take home bag. It is all too easy to be a "plate cleaner" even when served enormous portions. Learn to pay attention to your hunger level and stop eating when you feel comfortably full, not stuffed.

* Eat your food slowly
Did you ever notice that thin people take an awfully long time to eat their food? Eating slowly is one method that can help take off pounds. That's because from the time you begin eating it takes the brain 20 minutes to start signaling feelings of fullness. Fast eaters often eat beyond their true level of fullness before the 20 minute signal has had a chance to set in. The amount of calories consumed before you begin to feel full can vary significantly depending on how quickly you eat. So slow down, take smaller bites and enjoy your food.

What is a good method of burning fat?

Answers: just run and do sit ups and push ups dont lift weight cause that is what bulks you up. so you if u just wanna lose weight fast and get skinny or toned run miles everyday like 3 or however u can do STAY HYDRATED DRINK lots of water ur goal should be ur pee is clear cuz ur so hydrated drink lots of water drink like a gallon before u sleep after u run and just drink water the whole day but especially before u sleep n do sit ups like 100 so u get abs to thats muscle but u will get abs so yea and do like 40 push ups so u just get a toned chest cause 40 push ups a day is light it will tone ur body not bulk it and 100 sit ups day along wit the 40 push ups and u gotta run miles everyday and forget the water and water before u sleep trust me
All forms of cardio.

After doing 30 minutes of cardio, your body switches from burning carbs to burning fat. I would suggest doing 45-60 minutes of cardio at a time.

Swimming burns the most calories, but I personally believe running/jogging is the ultimate fat-burner; plus you get a better sweat, too.

I want to lose 15 pds in one month help me?

help me im 13 n i cant seem to lose the the weight help me!
Answers: Never look for fast weight loss.Try to eat 6 small meals a day. This helps your metabolism. Also, eat a small meal as soon as you wake up each day. When your body has been fasting for 14 hours, when you don't eat breakfast you body thinks you're out of food and stores all the fat that it can so you can survive. Jogging, biking, swimming, or dancing are good aerobics.
A possible schedule:
1. When you wake up :1 1/2 cup bowl low sugar cereal
2.11:00 - bowl of carrots and an apple
3. 2:00 - bowl of brown rice
4. 5:00 - pasta meal w/ yogurt
5. 8:00 - 2 hard boiled eggs

Follow the general flow of the intake of fruits, vegetables, grains, and dairy. When you drink a large glass of water with each meal, it fills you up 2-3x faster. That helps hunger craving control
.
what you want is both impossible and unhealthy.
so sorry i cannot help you in an unhealthy track.
You have to have a lot of willpower because if you expect to lose that much weight you have to do a lot of cardio everyday. You also should drink only water and basically just follow the food pyramid...a LOT less fats and sugars and a LOT more fruits and vegetables!
You probably still wont get the results that you want in such a short period of time, losing weight takes time.
just exercise and eat more fruits and veggies but that will only help you lose about 8 lbs because if you over do it it wont help your appearance but if you want to lose so much weight you should see a doctor
Increasing your exercise works better than starving yourself. 15lbs is a lot to lose in a month. If you can lose 2-3lbs a week that can be sustained without putting your health at risk or causing bone and muscle loss.

Crash dieting usually results in putting all the weight back on afterwards. Just eat a sensible diet, exercise portion control, eat slowly and enjoy it and stop if you feel full. Save the rest for later if you're worried about wasting it.

Also, if you really get the urge to eat sweets, cakes etc. just indulge yourself with something small and delicious rather than waiting till the urge becomes too strong because you could end up bingeing on junk.

On the exercise front the best principle is that you have to "shock" your body to lose weight, because your body gets used to being a certain size and will resist efforts to radically alter it. If certain exercises aren't producing results try other ones and vary what you do so your body is continually being pushed.
Jasmine that's alot of weight to lose in a month. I suggest just eat healthy ie lots of fresh veg, fruit and chicken and plenty of water each day (at least 8 glasses). The best combination for this to succeed is also to walk 20-30mins a day. You may not lose 15 pounds but gradually the pounds will drop of and you will look and feel really healthy.

One word of warning don't overdo dieting this certainly is not healthy for you!

Good luck!

What do you think about the grapefruit diet?

Has anyone had good results or thinks that it works! I need to loose 10 more pounds and then i will have lost my 30 pounds. I need tips on how to loose the rest fast.I have 1 month !
Answers: Its great for cholesterol number dropper and weigh loss..I used it 40 years ago when i modeled to keep my 125 figure in tip top shape...Be careful though cuz alot of grapefruit is hard on the stomach acid reflux stuff...Moderation is best..under 1200 calories a day and no more than a pound a week..GO slow so you don't gain it back!!!
I don't think just eating grapefruit is healthy because your body needs more vitamins and nutrients that you cant get from eating only grapefruit. Maybe you shouldn't focus on the time frame and just use diet and exercise. Once you stop focusing on the time and more on health, the pounds will melt off. And please drink plenty of water.

Gain Weight Without Fat?

I'm 17 male and weigh about 120lb, so as you can imagine i look extremely thin and i would like to gain a small amount of weight while maintaining a defined look, whats the best way to go about this?
Type of diet, exercise etc.
Any ideas at all really.
Answers: Protein drinks are good for building muscle, but don't worry, most 17 year olds are fairly slim even if they work out and build muscle.
Swimming is great, esp breast stroke for building body mass.
Muscle weighs more than fat.

Start lifting.

Sign up at a gym or the YMCA
In our country, bananas is a good option and cost low. Regular diet on these is recommendable.
Also take in multivitamins and try to play gym.

How can i lose 2-3 pounds this week?

and taebo, (something like that)

and like run and walk for like 30 minutes to 1 hour everyday.

WILL I LOSE 2 or 3 pounds in a week.

Please do not suggest weight watchers. or dont tell me it wont make a difference, because i know it will. So tell me if it will work or not.

and tell me how many pounds i would lose.

Thank you so much for either reading or answering this :D
Answers: You're not eating enough. A person needs to take in a minimum of 1200 calories a day to avoid going into starvation mode. The only thing that'll happen is that you'll lose a lb or two the first couple of days (all water weight - not fat), and then your body will start storing all the food you eat because it thinks you're going through a famine.

Why do you want to lose 2-3 lbs in a week? Are you talking about every week, or just one week? If it's the latter, what's the point? So you can tell people you're 3 lbs lighter? Nobody can tell your weight - it's not tattooed onto your forehead. :)

If you're trying to lose weight, 1-2 lbs a week is the healthiest way to do it, and you're more likely to keep it off. Instead of starving yourself, eat healthy, generally between 1500-1800 calories a day (try www.fitday.com to track your eating) and start exercising. Walking is excellent for burning fat, and strength training will build muscle and tone you. With this method, you'll be burning fat and building muscle - people WILL notice the lost inches.

Good luck!
I don't think you want an honest answer; you want validation of what you've already decided to do. I quote from your question, "Please do not suggest weight watchers. or dont tell me it wont make a difference, because i know it will. So tell me if it will work or not."

Below are two of many sites you can find by searching "safe weight loss." The most important aspect of weight loss is exercise. And, don't get caught in the low-fat equals good food trap. Too many people think that fat-free foods can be gobbled without restraint, but calories are calories. I remember seeing cotton candy labelled "fat-free." What a joke; it's pure sugar! Also, avoid high-fructose corn syrup used in sodas and ready-to-eat snacks. This cheap sweetner is much more fattening than sugar, and affects your body's ability to regulate its blood sugar level.

Does weight lifting spurt growth?

Im 17 and male. Would weight lifting slow down growth?
Answers: No, regular exercise will help you reach your pre-programmed height potential, of course nothing can cause you to exceed this genetic maximum.
One thing that will help you lose weight: diet pills. I was one of those who did not believe in them until I tried it. And I tried a few. The best product I found on the market is made with pure hoodia and it works great! You can go to
http://www.easy-fit.us and order you free trial, also you only pay $6.95 shipping and handling. Good luck!
No offense, but your 17 lol you are done growing! Just start lifting because that will make you gain size, you aren't getting much taller than what you are now, sorry.
Exercise and diet are good for any weight issues.Weightlifting will build muscle and make you look bulkier.
Nothing will stunt your growth. There's only a few factors to how tall you'll be: genetics, and if you happen to have some kind of neurological disorder. That's about it.
It is very unlikely at the age of 17 that weight training would effect your bone growth.

However, if you were still growing rapidly - or are a late starter AND were doing maximal lifts (e.g. powerlifting or olympic style) at a high level (not just recreationally a couple of times a week), there is a danger of interfering with bone development at epiphyseal plates.

Unless you're training at elite level, though, you should be fine. Start with higher reps (in the 10-12 area) and concentrate on your technique. This will give you an excellent base to build on as you go into adulthood.

It is a complete myth that youngsters should not do any weight training. You carry your schoolbag, do pressups, give your mates piggy-backs, right? All of those things involve lifting some resistence. Your muscles don't know the difference between a dumbell and a heavy bag of books...

What BMI do you think this model has??? (Pic included...)?

Who cares what her BMI is?
