Is this too skinny?

5'7 and weigh 115?

thats not me, my friend got a costume, and on the package they had a model on there...and on the package it showed how tall the model was, and her weight. im 5'8 and im sorta overweight and this makes me feel bad, especially becuase my little sis is 5'2 and weighs 120. and shes not fat AT ALL. lol TRUST me, she eats alot of junk food though,m she probably has alot of body fat, or more than she needs, but it doesnt show, she wears size small in adult stuff, and sometimes some little kid stuff still. so yeah. nd sometime the size small in adult stuff is too big, and no she doesnt do a whole bucnh of weightlifting, and she eats donuts n stuff. lol but it makes me feel EVEN fatter, that my sister is shorter than that, and weighs more, and shes not fat. but the model on the package didnt look 115, she looked, around oh, 130-140. she looked like she had muscle, and was full...but still had a good figure. but still, though do u guys think thats too skinny?
Answers: It's thin, but not too thin. My mom was 5'7" and 110 for such a long time, and she could not gain weight. After she had me she finally gained 10lbs, and she's been the same weight for about 17 years. UNBELIEVABLE, I know! I think 130 would be a good weight for you. The good thing about being tall is that you can gain weight, and it really won't show that much. Tyra Banks is 165 and she's 5'10". I don't think your fat, but I understand your resasoning. I gained 20 lbs this summer, and people said I looked fine, but I was stil uncomfortable. I've lost 15 of it, but the last five are a *****!
Yes I would suggest 125-135 should be good for you.

My measurements?

I am 5'3 114 pounds.

My measurements are 33-27.5-34.5

Am i proportional? waist/hips too big, etc
Answers: You have a ruler shape, which means you are thin all over, but slightly thicker in the middle compared to your bust and hips. You have that shape that athletes have basically.

You are fine : )
geeeeez. i wish i had your body. my boobs are like, way too big for my waist. i'm 5'3, and 125-130 haha. i have 35 on boobs, and 27.5 on waist. i would killllll for your body.

How to stop binging?

Hi, binging has been taking over my life. A while ago, I went on a diet to look more toned and healthier. I lost a couple of pounds on it, but since a month ago, i just can't seen to stop binging. Of course, I eat healthy on some days to compensate for binging, but I just can't distract myself from food. I feel so guilty after eating, and I tell myself never to do it again, but I still do. I feel like my stomach is getting bigger and bigger.

Are there are solutions for my problem? I've gained back the weight I lost. I'm 16, 5'3 113-114 pounds.
Answers: The reoson you might be binging, is your not eating enough during the day, and your body is almost starving itself. Try to stick to either 4-5 small meals a day, or 3 large meals, with healthy snacks in between, like apple slices w/ P. butter, or special K snack bars. And at night, which is the hardest, if your really hungrey and MUST have somthing, have un-buttered pop corn, theres a lot there, with about 100 cals per BAG. Very nice snack, exspecially when you want to binge, pop corn is the answer
Snack on cereal, Like cheerios or special k it tastes great and fills you up more because of the wheat :)
Drink water me and my friend drink 10 bottles a day!
Mad i know...
Sniff a banana it will stop you from feeling hungry.
Eat rice cakes they have like 20 cals per cake and they keep you feeling full.
Don't give up !

Hypnotism...does it really work for weight loss?

Does anyone know if being hypnotized to lose weight really works. How does it work?
Answers: Here is a place that reviews a bunch of weight loss programs including Hypnosis. Pretty cool site.

Many of the products and programs listed have consumer reviews, so you can read what others think about the hypnosis route before you decide for yourself.

Hope this helps!
it doesnt work.

I've been running about 3 miles in around 22 minutes everyday and I havent lost a pound. What else can I do?

I would like to lose about 10-15 lbs. and I haven't lost 1 yet. I've been eating fine consuming about 1700 calories a day and im not eating bad either. I do lift but only about 2 days a week every so often. I've been running for about 2 and a half months and didn't lost a single pound. Is there anything else I can do to lose weight?
Answers: Have you lose inches? Do your clothes fit better (looser)? because that is how you determine actual fat loss.
The scale wont tell you how much fat you have lost and how much muscle gained.
There is always a chance you are under/over estimating your caloric intake - use fitday.com to track that.
You have to do cardio 4-6 times a week (one day definitely off for recovery) for average of 45min - you gotta do more of that.
Calories do not matter. It is where they come from that matter. There are more diets than ever and more people dieting than ever and yet we have the fattest society ever. So a lot of these ideas about losing weight, make you fatter. Cutting calories, carbs and fats can cause you to have a weight problem for life. It is better to eat differently. See site below and learn why lean meat and non-fat yogurt are so fattening.

Also salt has no calories but makes you fat. This also has the quickest weight loss possible. Eat good carbs, not bad carbs. Nourish your body thin, instead of starving your body fat. Eat foods made by nature and avoid foods made by man which are designed to make you fat and very addicted to food. Do the ninja warrior diet (not a diet but a diet lifestyle). 5th link on "LINKS" page is BMI calculater to see if you are overweight.

I'm sure you're losing INCHES. Muscle weighs more than fat, therefore you're turning fat into muscle. That's GREAT! Keep it up. You should lower your caloric content however to 1500 calories. (depends on your present weight however). Look here: http://www.inch-aweigh.com/dcn.php (male or female)

How do I stop my eat attacks?

Why do I binge like crazy on huge amounts of food?
I'm serious.... I don't understand why I understand health and a proper diet yet choose to do this to myself?
How do you stop the cravings?
Answers: It's possible that you could be low on vitamins and minerals. I have taken them and when they run out, about 3 weeks later I start food cravings. I find the liquid green stuff so far to be most effective. Our foods today are way defecient in minerals, so supplementing is necessary. When you try it , give it time, sometimes one feels a difference within "3" days, and others need 3 weeks or more to notice. You will feel it when you stop taking it, then you will know.
You should eat 6 small meals a day instead of 3 and still have snacks. They key word in being small meals. This allows you to eat all day and not gain weight, you will actully lose weight by doing this. You can also try to fight the cravings, which that has not been working so find healthy foods to eat.
Are you craving anything specific, like salts etc. Maybe you have a electrolyte imbalance or a sign of diabetes?
Good luck!

Is this enough food?

i am 15 and im eating about 350 calories a day. if i eat anymore i usually throw it up. i exercise about 15 hrs a week, mostly dancing and runnning. do u reckon its enough?
Answers: Disclaimer. I am not a doctor, dietitian or psychologist.

You never want to be eating less than 1500 calories a day, unless a doctor specifically tells you so. There's a reason the nutritional information on everything is based on a 2000 calorie a day diet, it's because that's about what most people need to live comfortably. With so much less, your body is going to go into starvation mode... you don't want this.

Please see a doctor. If you're 15, maybe talking to your parents or school nurse is what you need to do first. You're throwing up food, and you're not eating nearly enough, this is not good for you and you're going to have serious problems if it continues. You've asked the question here, you should ask the same thing of a doctor and get a professional opinion.
No.
eat more.
or you're going to kill your organs.
No, im not going to talk on at you about how bad it is because you have an ED like i do so theres not much point you have to realise this for yourself
Its good that you asked though cus tthat means that you are working out somethings not right thats all i can say otherwise im being a hypocrite and i hate people like that good luck in what ever you choose to do.

xxxx
OMG!!

ur going to kill yourself:(

u have to eat around 2000calories a day!
see a doctor, seriously

How much weight can she loose?

My friend is 19 years old.

She currently weighs around 260, and I really want to help her loose weight. If we were to start today which is 10/14/07, how much weight can be loose by 6/14/07?
Answers: 8 months, is it?

If you give a very powerful in terms of every habit possible, 4kgs (9 pounds?) a month weight loss is possible.

8 X 9 would be 72 pounds.

if you consider weight training and massages, her figure will improve considerably.
well first we need a time machine then we can do some work

The uk's obesity problems?

Do u think that if gyms were made cheaper in the UK then obesity wouldn't be such a huge issue?
Answers: It has very little to do with cost. People can do all sorts of exercise without any expensive equipment, they simply choose not to.
Jogging, bike riding, swimming, jumping rope, sit-ups, push-ups, dumbbell lifting, hiking, chin-ups, and so on.
There's plenty of exercises you can do for free, or at a small cost.
It seems like the U.K. is getting lazy and fat like America has.
What a shame.
No.
That's like saying if petrol went up to £3.00 a litre people would drive less cars. They wouldn't.
No, they need to cut out the fast food.
Gyms are useful for helping to tone and loss weight, but one can walk, do lifts etc and excise at home.
We are all getting lazy and eating to much and not moving enough
no, sadly i don't think it would make any difference.
the obese eat too much, way, way passed the 2,000 calories a day mark.
all it takes is some willpower & a bit of common-sense.

most obese people ( i know & hear about ) are afraid of exercise & refuse to modify their diet, gluttony has taken hold as they await the magic pill to enable them to continue eating anything & everything, without worrying about their health.

I think this time the government ( see link below ) have the right idea, there's plenty of places to walk & run around than being stuck indoors in a gym!
No.
The solution is simple.
When i was 14 me and my mates use to ride our bmx's everywhere.
That was until they cut the woods down and built houses on it.
Then they filled in the skate board park because WOMEN moaned it was dangerous. We were covered in cuts and had scabs on our elbo's
Not like these 14 year olds today who don't even walk to school.
And all the girls were fit to as they would follow us around and did what we did.
Im gobsmacked at the amount of seriously overweight teenagers there are today.
When i was 14 there were 3 in the school of about 1500 kids that were fat and i could name them now.
The parents are to blame.
But most important its the DO GOODERS FAULT.
When was the last time you saw a kid on a skate board or a bmx.
And i mean doing stunts NOT DRIVE BY SHOOTINGS.
They are to busy on the playstation.
If my mum drove me to school i would have got my head kicked in.
When i see a woman in a 4x4 taking the brats to school i think what on earth has happened.
You know you don't have to go to the gym to workout. Of course it's an excuse. I work out in my living room for crying out loud!

Am I at an okay weight for my age, heighth and body type?

I am 14.
I am 5'3".
I have a medium frame.
My parents are also medium.
My weight goes up & down from 125-130. I have quite a bit of muscle tone, but I still have some fat.
Should I lose the fat and gain more muscle?
Almost everyone says that I am too muscular anyways.
What should I do?
Answers: You are perfect. The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn. Whoever says you are too muscular needs their head examined. You are not fat. You are exactly perfect.

If you want to be thinner, it is not magic. You just lay off things high in carbs, eat all the healthy stuff you want and move it. It really is that simple. At your age, nutrition is huge. This body you are building needs to last you your whole life, so just get all the nutrition you can, get plenty of walking or other exercise and enjoy.
I say...

chill! your 14!

try side bends and the sort, will boost your figure.

but dont abuse your body till your 16, just chill and do the easy stuff, eat good nutrition and have fun.

Help..eating disorder!?

Ihave had bulimia on and off since april. im losing loads of weight but i know its not healthy. how can i stop being bulimic, but still lose weight WITHOUT seeing my doctor.
Answers: Keep maintaining a healthy diet.
To restore physical health, design balanced meal plans that include the number of calories and kinds of nutrients that you need.
Ask yourself why you're bulimic.
Is it something that's bothering you?
Is it the society's pressure?

Individual therapy is key to fully recovering.
It is tough to deal with the issues that someone with bulimia has, but they must be dealt with so that you or the person does not have to constantly go back to binging and purging as a way to comfort and bring relief to internal pain.
take alfalfa tablets about four with each meal to better digest your foods.pray about it.eat good foods.no white flour products and sweets
i am in so much pain i cant eat much at all, but i do try to eat right are i will die
so eat fruits and vegetables
Burn more calories at the gym than you in take.
Just exercise every day.
Remember, you burn calories when you sleep.
Just take vitamins everyday & be healthy.
You'll feel better about yourself.
take care :)
I think you might be in quite serious stage of bulimia and you need medical help!

Please tell your family members about it and seek help immediately because once bulimia hits you, you can't just shrug it off like that without medcial treatment and proper and deeper counselling. It's to do with both your psychological and physical conditions.

Do yourself and your body and your health a great favor by seeking proper medical help now.
you have to see someone, i think its great you wanna stop this but you will just go back again.
i have an ED too so i know waht is like its up to you but you cant do it bye yourself xxxxxxxx

please do the right thing xxxxxxx
Please do talk with your family physician and get a referral for a licensed therapist who deals with food and eating issues. It's best to seek support from professionals (and family) when dealing with something that is potentially life-threatening as well as permanently damaging. Please take good care of yourself and get outside help.

How much work out needed?

I just want to get fit and lose weight. I am 20 and 60 kg, 1.6m. I already go 3 or 4 times a week for 20 mins of cardio and 10 mins of sit ups. According to my doctor, this isnt enough. What is realistic without killing myself (eg i think exercising everyday is unrealistic)
Answers: Well to start with I don't think that you need to lose weight. 60 is not an unhealthy weight for your age and height. You may need to lose fat however and gain muscle tone in order to look more built. I would focus more on resistance training (ie weights) in order to build muscle, as well and cardio training for indurance. (one session of weights training and 3 cardio a week may be enough to begin with but ensure that you are constantly increasing the difficulty level as your body becomes used to it. ( weights training would be to include all major muscle groups and cardio for at least 30 min of cardio to a degree where your heartrate is between 140 - 160 BPM) the weights training has the added bonus of increasing your metabolic rate as muscle requires more energy than fat therefore you will be burning more calories when you are doing nothing.
Yeah, I agree with u that exercise everyday isn't the way.....

How much exercise you need to do really depends on what's your goal.

In your case, u wanna get fit and lose some weight.

Then I suggest cardio for 3-4 times per week, for at least 30 mins per session plus do sit-ups for 10 mins per session, 3-4 times per week, should be sufficient for your purpose.

Over-cardio has got the ugly effect of breaking down your muscle mass. So instead of losing weight, you're losing precious muslce......

Have a read here about over-cardioing: http://www.perfect-body-toning.com/exces...
