How many points can I have on weight watchers?

I wanna start doing weight watchers but I dont know how many points I can eat daily. Does anyone know how you can find how many points you can eat a day, without having to sighn up? and where can you find out how points is in certain foods?
Answers: You can go to WW web sight and they give you some info
you get 24 points if you are under 200lbs and over 200lbs you get 26 points a day
it works out to be about 1 point per 50 cals.
veggies are free no points
popcorn 1/2 a bag 2 points
pasta 1/2 cup 2 points
bread is a lot.
I eat a lot of soup and a lot of veggies,fruit,
you must drink a lot of water.

Whats the best way to cure cravings and overeating? Plus exercises w/o having to go to the gym?

I am currently on LA weight loss, so there are so many things i can eat, so much of it i can eat and so on. But you know what? sometimes i just want to pig out!! What can I do to not do this? i need to lose at least 40 lbs by march 3rd for my trip to puerto rico!

Also, I love doing the eliptical machine at the gym, but I have no money for the membership. What exercises can i do at home that are effective?

Is anyone 5 foot 3? Whats your height and weight, and are you happy with it?

I'm 5 foot 3 and i weight about 125lbs. I know I'm in the healthy BMI range but i would really prefer to lose 10 or 15 lbs..i think it would make me feel a lot better about myself..although my willpower is interfering lol What do you think, and how about yourself?
Answers: I'm 5'9.5" and I weigh 150 lbs...I'm going to put on about 20 lbs of muscle. I'd give anything to be 2 inches taller.

BTW, my girlfriend is 5'3" and she weighs 120 lbs and looks amazing, so don't worry about your weight.
Well honey-
I'm 5'1 and weigh about 122 normally. I weigh 138 now because I'm 7 months pregnant-but...ohhhhhhhh I can't wait to start exercising. Being pregnant has never made me want to start working out SO much! lol! My BMI always says I'm healthy at 122...but am more comfortable with the 110 range. That is what I'm used to weighing before. So, that's my goal...but honestly-it's not so much the weight that effects me...as long as I look tone and feel good- I could weigh 145 and be totally happy.

Will drinking hot water after each meal help me to loos weight?? Is it bad for health?? Pls HELP!!?


Answers: I would suggest drinking a glass of cold water before (or while) eating.

Because it makes you feel stuffed, so you don't overeat.

Also, the body needs to regulate the temperature of the substances that enter the body, so that they will match the internal body temperature. In the case of drinking cold water, the body will have to consume a bit of energy (calories) to increase the water's temperature, thus, helping you to lose weight.
it's not bad for your health at all...(unless the water is literally boiling lol)

it does burn more calories, but not so much that it is necessary to do. just enjoy your nice cold water.

Drinking water is never bad for health. Not sure it will help to lose weight but will be 100% good for your body in any way. Go for jogging or games like tennis and badminton. Badminton is very good in many aspects. You wil have to lean a lot run a lot . Go with your friends who are boys or girls who know th gave on an average. Playing 2 ppl who dont know the game is utter waste . I can help u too :-)

That will not help you to lose weight. It isn't bad as long as the water isn't too hot. Just don't burn yourself. BTW, who told you this will help you lose weight and how did they say it will work? If this was true, would there be any fat people in the world? The only way to lose weight is to take in fewer calories than you burn. Diet and exercise are the ways to lose weight, not hot water.

P.S. If you drink enough water, it can kill you. You would have to drink gallons and gallons though. Don't worry about it, but it has happened.
I wouldnt say it was very good for you

Try drinking a glass of water before you eat, and you'll probably eat less because your stomach is full.

I'd watch your water intake as too much will leave you mineral deprived and dehydrated.
it is better to drink ice cold water because then your body burns more calories heating it up which causes your body to lose more weight.

You should drink a certain amount of cold water a day according to your bodies weight.

You figure that out by taking you weight divided by 2 and that is how many oz. of cold water a day you should drink.

Like if you weight 140 you divide that by 2 and get 70. That means if you weigh 140lbs you should drink 70oz. of cold water a day.

Drinking hot water particularly may not reduce ur weight though it is quite beneficial for the body.
u can eat a green chilly after meal. this helps in loosing weight.
I have no idea if it's coincidence or if this actually works. I have been drinking hot water with lemon after my meals, and I am losing a lot of weight. I also like to drink it first thing in the morning. But like I said, it could just be that I am losing weight.. because my body wants to or the lemon thingy is working.Either way I am not taking any chances.
My wife is Chinese and I know that Chinese people believe that drinking hot water is good for your health. Personally I can't bring myself to drink hot water. Drinking cold water will burn slightly more calories but it is probably not enough to matter. Your body burns some calories warming it up to your body temperature after you drink it.

Answers: Men stop growing when they're 21, but by 20 you'll be almost completely there. 4 inches is a long way off.

I wonder why you feel this need? The only thing I can imagine is that you feel that women don't find you attractive? I know a few shorter than average men and just one or two of them really have it sussed - they are the most charming and cheeky men I know and the women fall for it every time. Good looking or tall guys tend to rely on appearances, less noticeable guys often work out that what a woman finds sexy is confidence and charm.
Forgive me if my assumption is erroneous, but I don't think you can do much about your height - maybe you could think round the situation and use the assets that you have.
You will have to do some stretching exercises and change your diet plans. But given the fact that you are 20, you still have about 5 years growth left.
stand on a box ,,,apart from that just be grateful your otherwise healthy and except you self for who you are there are folk out there got a lot more sensible things to worry about

There's nothing you can do mate. I'm 5' 3 and wish I was 4 inches taller. The only thing I can say is I come from a family of average sized people but my brother who is a very fussy eater has lived on a very unbalanced diet of mainly protein and carbs is 6' 3 in height. Now I'm not advising you to do this because a) it's not healthy and b) it may have nothing to do with his height. Also you stop growing at 21 so you've not got long left - not to gain 4 inches. We all wish something was different about ourselves but some things you can't change. Sorry there is no happy answer for you. :o)
It's not possible..Mother Nature determines your height. If you ever find out the miracle answer let me know i'd like to be a few inches taller too ;o)
heres a great solution, and it really works.................................. buy yourself a pair of 4" high heels you plonker. or wear trousers that are 4" too short for you. im sure that will make you feel taller.
Sorry at 20 your growth will already have ceased and the epiphyses of your long bones will now be fused, this makes further growth impossible!

Your maximum height potential was determined at the moment of conception by your genetic mix from your parents. Injury, malnutrition, disease and toxins could have reduced that potential, but it can never be exceeded.

( Note you cannot increase your penis size, and if you had been female, other than by getting fat or pregnant you could not have increased your breast size!)

Answers: You will, but the difference is very subtle. First, it takes a long time to make noticable changes in your body, so it will take a while for those around you to notice the difference. People respond faster to a good atittude and personality. Second, we're taught not to judge people based on looks, so most people will deny that they respond in a more positive way to someone with a good build - but in reality, many (if not most) people do just that. Finally, a great build and great looks won't do you any good in the long run if your behave like a jerk.
Of course you will. Someone that is in good shape has a certain glow around them, even if they are not build like Arnold.

You should do it for yourself first. You will feel so good about yourself that what others think about you will not matter anymore.
You will be viewed different. Everybody wants to be in shape and look good, but most don't have the drive or discipline to follow through all the way. More important, you will feel better about yourself.

Where is the best jogging trail in Virginia Beach?

I'm trying to start a running routine - 5k/3miles in Virginia Beach, and it's Fall and the Winter's coming, and I love running outside in beautiful places during these seasons. Does anyone who's familiar with the Virginia Beach area know a beautiful and safe place to jog?

If not, does anyone know of a website that may list some good places in Virginia to take a good run?
Answers: Hello fellow VB'er :) when i want to jog i just bundle up and come down to the beach. its so quiet in the winter and nobody really bothers you. I also jog over at mount trashmore. Its safe, but its also a workout intensifier because you can run up hill.
try mt. trashmore. it's off 264 east, after the independent road exit. not only is there a nice trail, the park is beautiful.. as for the name...i can't help you on that one:-)

i'm 15, but this morning the scales told me i am 96 lbs, and my gw was to get under 7 stone (i'm 5'6) and i've achieved that, i wouldn't mind losing a couple more pounds but basically now i'm just trying to maintain my weight, which i don't think will be easy!
i don't want to give you tips, because my diet is really unhealthy! just use your logic, you know what foods are healthy right, you can use calorie-count.com to check the calorific values of things you're unsure of. work out how many calories you consume on an average day, and decrease that, increase the amount of exercise you do aswell. and you will lose weight, the more drastic your changes, the quicker your results, simple. good luck!
Hey, don't know if you've considered this already but what I think helps is "eat only when your truely hungry, and stop eating when your no longer hungry" I know people who lost weight by doing this aswell.
And obviously exercise helps, but if you follow that idea you don't need to go crazy with exercising.

I'm not a teen anymore but I can give you loads of tips on how to lose weight, I have been personal training for over 8 years now, I've listed below some great tips to help you lose weight.

Tip 1.
Eat carbohydrates (bread, pasta, rice, potatoes) only for breakfast and after working out, these are the 2 times your body does not store this food group as fat (follow this tip and see the weight fall off)

Tip 2.
Exercise first thing in the morning on a empty stomach, doing this forces your body to use fat and muscle mass for fuel, which will result in weight loss and fat loss.

Tip 3.
Eat 5-6 small meals a day, eating frequently teaches the body to speed up how it burns calories, the more your body gets use to a small meal regularly it starts to burn food faster without worrying when the next meal is coming. your body burns food slower when you only put in 1 or 2 meals in it a day. Invest in low G.I diet book this will show you how to pick the right foods to eat without having to starve yourself.

Tip 4.
Start doing weight training, weight training helps you burn fat in unwanted areas like your stomach, arms and hips, the more lean tissue you have again the more calories your body burns.

First time at the gym tomorrow ? Advice please.?

O.k so I plan on using the gym at my uni for the first time tomorrow. What machines should I use and for how long? Also is it o.k to just walk up to some of the staff there and ask them to devise a program / teach me how to use the machines etc..
Answers: Ask the people there. Yes, they will know how to use them and help you get started. In fact tell them it's your 1st time and ask them to show you all the equipment and how to use it. They'll be happy to help. What as others use the stuff and ask questions.
the best to start with is the ORBITREK which is a combination of walking and cycling for at least 30 minutes.
Follow that exercise by upper and lower abdominal muscle shaping exercises...like AB stretching.
These exercises makes you full of energy and ready to beat the time with more active works.
It will take you one to two weeks of continuous exercising (11/2 hrs a day) to start having that feeling.
But please be serious about it.

ex: i wanna work the legs then i go to a machine see how much u can do then do half of that, then do 3 sets of 10 after ur first set walk to that water fountain drink sum then walk back this technique works very well cuz it gives u a break and u still can work longer

Just start slow and easy for the first several weeks. It is more important to have a regular schedule (3 to 4 times per week) than it is to try and make fast changes. Exercise is about a lifestyle and making a decision to be healthy...making goals such as losing a certain amount of weight can be deceiving because once you reach that weight, you may stop your exercise program and return to your usual unhealthy habits.

To start, just have fun, make sure you commit to going to the gym 4 times per week...get used to the machines...talk to people about the proper techniques. Proper technique is just as important as the exercise itself...improper technique will create acute or chronic injury and will set you back a great deal.

There are many people at the gym who will help you out...a trainer may cost money, but if they know what they are doing, you will benefit more than trial and error.

Remember, make it fun or you will lose interest and stop going.
Of course ask,It all depends on what your going for toning or just building.The machines that have bands strings what ever you wana call them are really great 4 toning you can build also just up your lbs and reps to build mussel.They say this kind of machines better 4 u; less straneous on our bodys.Un like weight machines you can pull or strain your mussels very easy tearing your mussels isnt very fun.I use the Bow Flex imatation machine;they have some machines out there just like the bow flex and works the same but a whole lot cheaper.I love my machine and it only costed a $135.00 at wally world.20minutes a day and you really see a big difference.I've used several of gyms and several different machines and I really like the machines with bands/strings verses weights.good luck..

Power plate?

Hi!
Actually, I really need to do some dieting. I have recently heard of power plate, but there were not many information about it. I would be grateful if someone could tell me:
1)How do you use it
2)How many calories do you burn in 10 minutes
3)How much does it cost
4)Does it really work
5)Is it so beneficial
6)If I do it for more than 10 minutes, am I supposed to pass something bad or something? What/Why?

Answers: well i power plate can be used in a varity of ways for example amrs legs stomach and back
in 10 minutes i would assome about 30 calories
it works because you use it by flexing your muscles
its 100 dollars you only do it 15 minutes a day
