I have gastric bypass a few months ago, i be wondering if i can drink green tea?

Answers:    I dont see why not...drink it slowly at first to see if you get cramping, diarrhea or other "dumping syndrome" signs, but you should be fine.
Remember, since you are not long out of surgery, dont eat and drink in the same hour.
I am 9 years post gastric bypass and can drink green tea in need any problems.
Good Luck to you!!
I would ask your doctor. Thats the one sure way to find out. Rouen-Y BG Nov 23, 2007
My dietian said I can devour anything other than significant amounts of sugar (dumping syndrome) so I assume that includes green tea. I do coffee and lots of regualr tea and do not seem to enjoy a problem.

Call your doctors office or progress to one of the By-pass support group websites.

Hope you are doing well

You can own anything without caffienne, carbonation and added sugar. Decaf is better because caffienne is a diuretic which cause you to lose fluids. Carbonation can be used in moderation but the extra calcium needed to warfare the acidity of carbonation can be leached from your bones. Finally, we adjectives know what sugar does.

So green tea fits the bill. I drink decaf tea all year long. I belong to a Yahoo group called Weight Loss Surgery Friendship & Support.
