How much protein should I guzzle after a workout?
Answers: I try to get within about 1 gram of protein per kilo of body mass per day. I pinch half fir breakfast the the partner right after working out. I like the protein powder by EAS. I purchase it at sams club. 4# for $28 last about a month.
The rule of thumb is 1.5 grams of protein per pound of body bulk...that's the total for a given day. no specific amount after a workout.I usually drink a protein drink that have 52 grams of protein, but that just fragment of my overall total.. you don't need plentifully post workout just adequate to jump start the rescue process. about 20-30 grams of protein is sufficient beside at least and equal amount of carbohydrates surrounded by either fluid or solid form. if you are bulking you would want to consume about 20-30 grams of protein and 60-90 grams of carbs. it's also moral to take 1 gram of vitamin C after big intensity exercise
The best thing to do right after a workout is to restore your glucose stores... A 4-1 Carb-Protein ratio is great immediately after your workout near the carbs being from well digestible sugars.. Think banana, milk, and a little protein powder. At your size, I'd aim for 50-60g carbs to 12-15 g protein...
Then 30 min after your workout, you want to reverse the ratio... 40 g protein to 10 g carbs (don't want to overdo the protein because you freshly had 12-15g).. Milk and a substantial scoop of protein is the best entity here...
Then about 1.5-2 hours following, eat a full lunchtime... 10-15g fat, 30-40 g protein, 40-60 g carbs
