Protein is for muscle weight gain - so unless she is doing freight training, it won't make as much difference.
Tell her to substitute the protein shakes for a life-size mcdonalds shake.
One of them has partially your daily calories at lowest, two would be her total daily allowance.
Anything she eat on top of that should append body weight.
Plus - she might want to jump and get checked for lice such as tapeworm. I do not believe in super large metabolisms.
Simply eat 500 kcals more than your BMR digests per daylight. And take something carb base before going to bed. My mum used to be hugely skinny and her doctor told her to take iron tablets and dance to have for a while nap after drinking.
Fast food (unhealthy eating) is not the way!
